The South Asian diaspora, the largest in the world, was created by the British empire, they needed more indentured servants/cheap labour. The British used Indians in east Africa to create a class structure that would ensure Africans would remain on the bottom, there just wasn’t enough white people so this was the way of supplementing that and so small business and markets were dominated by south asians.
Majority of south asians in east africa had africans working for them as servants, being payed almost nothing to wipe their asses.
Amin did what he rightfully felt was the best thing to do. It was necessary in order to rid Uganda of societal structures that were put in place to keep Ugandans in chains.
I know south asians who’s family had fled Uganda like to talk as tho they’re some kind of victims, and in a way they are, but not victims of Uganda, victims of British imperialism. However, it doesn’t justify the racist barbaric systems they benefitted from and encouraged which kept them comfortable while Africans had no future for themselves or their children.
Why do you think western media particularly British made such a big deal about it at the time? You think they give a fuck about you or your family?

Surprisingly some of those who blame Amin are the same who support a government that has persecuted other Indians, to the extent of seeking to take away their nationality, because of their religion. But that is your business.
As a Ugandan, Amin will always be a hero who fully made our country independent. If it hurts you go on and soothe yourselves by telling us how you will always make it wherever you go and how we are still underdeveloped, etc.
