Algebra II on Khan Academy: Your studies in algebra 1 have built a solid foundation from which you can explore linear equations, inequalities, and functions. In algebra 2 we build upon that foundation and not only extend our knowledge of algebra 1, but slowly become capable of tackling the BIG questions of the universe. We'll again touch on systems of equations, inequalities, and functions...but we'll also address exponential and logarithmic functions, logarithms, imaginary and complex numbers, conic sections, and matrices. Don't let these big words intimidate you. We're on this journey with you!
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

NNJAx you gotta adjust to this man, it was in 2007
I can't believe that video tech has come so far in only 10 years!
the thumbnail was good though.
lul
@@muhammedshameel5684 You can change a thumbnail post-upload, they went through and standardized their thumbnail style recently. Back when this video was realeased, you could not upload your own thumbnail, you had to chose an automatically generated screenshot from the video
"I don't know, I don't the names of things."
This man knows exactly how I math.
Same lol
you teach better than 90 percent of teachers today
That's probably because the teachers are forced to teach in a certain way, and their timed. While this amazing guy can take his time and do as many takes as possible with no noise, or distractions.
No not really
@@siddharthgupta1866 You're dumb.
Much higher than 90 percent
Bro what do you mean by 90%
He is at minmum better than 99.99% of the teachers
"Let me do a more cheerful colour..." Picks blood red.
Anyway, great videos!
its pink, not red are you color blind
This made me laugh out loud.
Whether he picks red or pink, red is considered cheerful. That’s why Coca Cola, Netflix and other companies have red in their logos.
Hello
@@elisevicino4093 it's still a pretty vicious pink with the black background and the pixels.
your voice soothes me
Christian Aleman
Woah man 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Christian Aleman 69th like
Because of your videos I'm able to study for finals in 2-3 hours
So I am not the only one, o.O thank the lawd for khan academy! XD
Exactly what I'm doing right now 😂
amen, lol
wow are you in 7th grade or something
Idk who this guy is, but he just saved my freakin life!...the way he explains things is just perfect, it registers in my brain perfectly. and I'm just so pleased to have found this youtube channel.
Just search up Khan Academy on a website to sign up for free. :D
"What do they call this? The additive exponent... I dunno, I don't know the names of things..."
Right? It's like he doesn't know he could practice teaching the lesson and look up those details BEFORE posting it.
+Craig Smith He is teaching a concept, and if you are interested in it, a further study into it should be mandatory. I for one, have trouble remembering the names of things when there are hundreds, especially in this. Names are only used to convey meaning to others. Concepts are more important.
Craig Smith Honestly, I was just happy that he's prepared to admit that, to a certain extent, he knows that he doesn't 'know' what he's talking about.
Trying to remember things in general is not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about being prepared for a publicized presentation...even retroactively. If he can't pull some term off the top of his head, who can blame him? But after having failed to pull said term, he publishes a video without it?? #lame
He has a website you know. It' called Khan Academy. If you sign up for it (it's free) you get full on lessons for every single math problem you can think of (at least up till Gr. 12)
My teacher directly combined all the laws and I was like "What the heck happened?" Thank you Khan :)
These videos are really useful, but it would be nice if the older ones were reuploaded in higher quality. If it were 480p or something it wouldn't be much of an issue, but at 240p they're actually difficult to read at some points.
Its funny how my teacher cannot teach us in 60 minutes but this guy taught it to me in 10. Thanks so much!!
Doesn't help when the annoying kids in the class ask to explain it ten more times, even though they clearly understand what's going on...
My teacher goes so fast. I just montaged videos of logarithm from khan academy and he explained it so much better in about 2-3 hours than my teacher can in 6 classes (6 hours). :/
I don't know your class but let's say there is 25-30 students in your class and your lectures are 1 hour long each. It is very hard to explain this to 30 students in one hour sessions and have them all understand it. There difference with you watching this video however, it is like the video is teaching you and only you when you watch it. You can also replay the video or watch it as many times as you want, therefore you will understand it better. Does that make sense?
This video and i are the same age and here i am. what a treasure
I laugh every time he says "I DONT KNOW" becuase ME 😂😂😂
I’ve been watching and learning from khan academy videos for years. I’ve always found it incredible that Sal, a MIT graduate, who’s clearly a genius, chose as his life’s mission to help educate others. I’m a teacher and tutor myself now and he’s been an inspiration to me. 😊
We all are only interested because THIS IS NOT SCHOOL. THIS IS CZcams. Learning about girrafes pooping is interesting on youtube
In his defense, there is more to life than giraffes pooping. And the magic of CZcams is that YOU get to choose what videos to watch. :-)p
like fire farting
And there are no annoying classmates nor those classmates who distracts you with their quirks. Also, in classrooms the teachers teaches a lot of students so the teacher couldn't focus on only you. And you can't make the teacher repeat what she/he had said or make her stop/pause just because you didn't get it. In youtube you could reply the video all over again until you could understand it
truuuuuuuuuuuuue
Need to show this to my maths teacher to show how its done!!
I died a little inside when he said computer science majors should know that 2^8=256 because I didn't know that.
whatttt- i thought in computer science u learn about ASCII code and the teachers talk about 2^7 and 2^8 a lot lmao or is it only my skl
!!! r u kidding me was it this much easy from always .i cant believe this guy really explains well and he keeps it short and smooth ,i loved it just keep helping me like this and changing colours also
YOU TEACH BETTER THAN ALL OTHER TEACHERS , YOU ARE GREAT
240p! Those graphics! Crystal clear!
But really, this helped so much! My math teach would draw these stupid arrows to describe the rules instead of saying, "When x happens, this goes here. When y happens, this goes over here." I didn't really like the arrows, and this is way better. Thanks.
@Suani Avila they do be pointing doe😳
wow. these videos will single handedly save my grade in precal. will watch more. very helpful
Really good site for revising our basics which we learnt in schools. Thanks Man
I'm sitting here before my math exam in college going over this. I've struggled with logs since day one with my math professor and you cleared everything in 10 minutes. Thank you SO MUCH!
You didn´t learn the basics of logarithms before college?
i thought you were supposed to learn logs in algb 2 or before if u skipped
Thanks Sal, I am very happy to with what you are really doing dude. Thanks a lot.
Clarifying. Thanks!
i missed algebra class today. thank you so much for getting me caught up!
thanks khan am learning alot here
i'm taking an online college algebra class right now, and was so entirely lost prior to these videos!! thank you!!!! you saved my A&*!!!! ;)
this guy is incredible, i don’t even know why but I just like listening to him. He’s pretty funny
Something I never understood for the whole year, he taught in one video :)
this is better than attending class. I don't think anyone can teach this good. thank you so much.
Excellent videos! Really comprehensive! 😀
im cranking some khan academy and then all of a sudden I see this video itt seems so old I find its made in 2007 like bruh this man has been doing this since 2007 its come such a long way
can i ask, though, why the 81 was thrown into 1/81? i'm not sure i understand. did the negative distribute to the second log?
Khan dude.....you rock man!!! Thanks!!!
It's still helpful!!! ❤️ ❤️
This was great it really helped
Very useful and detailed love it
If you don't already know it - YOU ARE THE FREAKIN MAN!
Thank you very much Khan. Appreciate it.
thanks that was very helpful, you sure explained it a lot better than my teacher!
Awesome video! Upload in HD
thanks mate another great maths video
Being homeschooled, it's hard to have some one go in detail with mathematical equations. Luckily, we have Khan :D
Thank you!
doing a great job khan thanks a lot mate
teacher don't teach to understand....they teach for you to score in exam....they teach you how to calculate and that's it.....kudos khan academy
very cool video Sal - thank U for helping me with logarithms.
i wish m y teacher could teach like this
by the way I am from india in std 8th ,does all your school teachers are this good?
Great video
Great video !!
Thank you so much I learn the basic of log in just 10 minutes :)
Good one for basics
THANK YOU SO MUCH.....
thanks a lot it really helped on my math test
God bless you !
and if you can help me pass my class, I WILL worship you.
The way you explain . . . is heavenly
exxplains better than my professor
very helpful.
Ah, lifesaver!
You sound so much more excited, younger, and enthusiastic in 2007 then 2012 xD Thanks dude :D
I love this man
do you have more videos on logs ...I never cared for maths as much as I do now only 20 years later. iam revisiting all modules .. you have done a great great job
Atul Sharma there are other vids on youtube, just look
how does this have dislikes? this channel is better than my high school maths teacher..
omg! magic!!
great video mate!!
agreed... u are so much better than my teacher...
W0 you teach 5 times better then my teacher thank you so much.
A true life saver
where are the videos of teh demostration of the properties?
I love u, sir!!....Go KHAN!!
Thanks for the good videos dude, keep up the bud work
Good teach
My stupid teacher made it look complicated and got confused but this guy makes it look simple amen to you
this is awesome
thx m8, I'm in yr12 and that was a harder example than I do in class, that last1left4u is just dumb, you've really helped me and the day before my exam, thx bud
Sal, I love you man !
Good write up
As with all of Khan's videos, this one is excellent. I'm slightly disappointed that he didn't mention that these two properties are the basis of why/how slide rules work.
I Thank God for you! My Algebra 2 teacher sucks!
Best teacher
Since your site is so very interesting. I would like to contribute by giving a couple of suggestions that would draw a wider learning audience. I would like you to add real world problems in all the branches of study and let people offer suggestions and ideas in these areas. another thing i am interested in more advanced mathematical concepts and ideas. please include a good explanation of the fourier anaylsis, everything that is possible about it.
thanks😃
i love his voice .D
Good Write up
i sure hope you make a lot of money for all the work you do
Thanks, I passed my test
My algebra teacher should just show these videos in class
I can't even begin to tell you how much I laughed during this video.
Either I have a "different" sense of humor (I do love laffy taffy jokes), or you're just hilarious.
Let's have a much more cheerful colour!
*chooses bloody red*
Thankyou man for this video, really useful. The problem is i TOTALLY know the mathof the powers and its [rp[erties. But i don't have any idea for the logs with base no.s, no idea how to solve them. I read many articles and tutorials on this, almost all is telling more complicated and extra bullshit. Thumbs up bro.
Thanks to this vid, I can do a crash studying for tmrw test. Lolols.
I´m gonna pass my finals thanks to these videos
tnx :)
When would we use these properties?
Teaching quality is inversely proportional to video quality
Please give links on where we can find these proof videos :D
Cool
Casually struggles with homework while I just "learned" this today
Hi Sal I have a question about logarithm properties Do you think you had use this in college courses as well? @Khan Academy
Nice man, this is very very very good, i mean very very very very good, like seriously VERRRRRRRRRY Good
1:46 “lock a them” 😂
Loved the tutorial!
