Also remember realistically you're constantly replacing a lot of your gadgets. Some of them are single use only. Then there's maintenance costs on the gadgets, vehicles and cave. Most of which I have to assume would be highly specialized people you got taking care of that but maybe Alfred could handle it. Gotta have spare suits. Unless you only plan on doing this for like a month you're gonna have to near double that number probably

that's the problem when it come's to like this kind of thing? is the sustainability? like the non-lethal option for example there's taser shotgun slug, that exist in real life a while back, developed by a company called, x-rep. it supposed to give cops a better non-lethal option. even againt's armed criminals. and it was being shot from specialized shotgun, that was design to shoot that type of slugs only. it's basically a taser, in a form of bullet. and it is soo small. it fit's a slug. and the effective range is 30 meter's away, or 100 feet. solving the problem of limited range. of normal tasers. and also creating one and only unlethal bullets, that could effectively take someone down whitout killing them! and be fired, from far distance!! now?? you think that every police department would adopt this? cause now they could actually arrest criminal from further and safe distance away? without actually killing them. even if they are being shoot at? preserving life? after all? is always a better option! when you have that option! and you could choose to do it! but???? the problem is? the taser bullet is one used only! the entire taser bullet! after that? you just have to throw it away. one of those taser slugs? cost a 100 dollars each!! and no police department in the entire world? could supply even one of their department with that effectively, without breaking a bank! let alone supplying every single police officer's with them! so the company discontinued the taser slug project. because no one want's to buy them. because it's very expensive? and it's single use only. in order for it to be sustainable? it need's to be rechargeable, it need's to be reusable. otherwise?? a specialize thing's like this? will just be breaking a bank! every single month. the no killing rule is unrealistic! because it's not sustainable. it is only achievable? if you have billion's of dollars, and you are bruce wayne.

People also forget that, in the comics, when he traveled around the globe to master every martial arts fighting style, detective/manhunting skills, engineering & science...he actually had to pay majority of these people. And those weren't small amounts.

Mind you, only the Batcave/Wayne Manor in Gotham was mentioned. If you would be a true multinational crimefighting Batman, you would maintain Batcave Headquarters in numerous locations. To keep your armor, tech and weapons on the highest level, you will definitely be spending into the billions of 💵. And of course, factor in better, more intense physical and mental training(from the best of the best in instructors, teachers and mentors!)and those figures go up significantly!

I always figured he was like a contractor and built it all up over time. When he first started it was just mobsters so just the basics to deal with run of the mill criminals. Then add the car for range and speed. Then the guys with freeze guns and jet packs start showing up so he had to expand again. Finally the part time status with the JLA so another price hike. Still pricey but stretched out over his entire crime fighting life.

Hey there Batcave. I just wanted to say that this video was absolutely incredible. I never really thought about how much it would cost to actually be Batman. Of course, I also read the comic books for entertainment and enjoyment.
Anyways thanks once again for this wonderful video and I do apologize for my comment and like being so late. I did notice that you posted the video last night, but I don't get a chance to watch just because I started work at an early time.

Yeah, the numerous satellites are one thing. However, don't forget the number of other batcaves located across gotham. Heck, didn't he have one under Arkham in the video game series?
Let's not forget that he normally funds the equipment, suits, etc. of his Batfamily partners.
Bruce, couldn't that money be used to fund ways of making Gotham better? Geez...

The very simple formula for movie /Arkham Batman 1 billion in upfront costs . 200 million per year in expenses . Assuming Batman makes 5% after taxes on his hundred billion. the trick is figuring out how to hide the spending not paying for it

  • @KorumEmrys
    @KorumEmrys Před 9 měsíci +3

I would argue that Bruce Wayne makes 9.2 billion per year, making the 100 billion dollar worth far more likely, and far more easily defines how he can afford to maintain the suits, equipment, cave, house, vehicles, etc,.

one thing to remember, is that its not just for the gear and maintenance.. but if you have to go work every day to do a 9-5 so you can eat... you will not make it as a crime fighter
a lot the gadgets would be gotten over time, same with the vehicles. that would actually make for an interesting movie. batman... year one, "shit i ran out of batarrangs, ill just have to use this store bought one"

I am not sure about Penguin and Riddler, but I think the Joker would conclude that no money can help the Batty recover from serious psychological damage he experienced, since he feels compeled to wear this awful suit of his... something like that
This money conversation and meaninglessness of money (from Jokers perspective) or cost of being a Batman (from Batman's perspective) can be an interesting scene

Even with all that money, he would need a lot people to build his batcave, Bat-vehicles and plane's. Not to mention he would be one the few suspects, cause any idiot could put 2 and 2 togheter and realize Batman must be a bilionaire to able to afford such expensive Tech.

The old story in the comics was that Alfred and Bruce in disguise would approach the contractors with very good deals. They were then flown in to an airfield near the manor at night and taken into the cave via the entrance away from the manor. Each contractor only knew their own small part of what they were working on, the rest of the cave was kept in darkness, never knew where in the world they were and were paid handsomely for their time. Some might have guessed what it was they were working on but would they? WE know there is a Batcave and it is under Wayne Manor but does anyone in universe outside the circle of friends and enemies even know there is such a thing?

I suggest that if we include the Nolan Batman movies as part of Canon, Lucius states that the " Batmobile" and the "Batsuit" were two of the MANY products the military didn't go with, so we have to go so far as to include lots of the military equipment and toys in the US military in DCU to be built/created by Wayne Enterprises in addition to Gotham real estate, Gotham Oil, and several other lucrative businesses...
