What is Cobweb Castle and the Spider Keep?
Cobweb Castle LLC was formed in 2020 by Elliott Stanton as he was wrapping up a career in the military. The company launched the patent pending Spider Keep as a wooden habitat designed for the Southern House Spider or Kukulcania hibernalis. These are harmless spiders which proliferate in the Southern states. Elliott had been working over a decade on a design that would allow the unique behavior of Southern House Spider to be observed in a controlled environment. The Spider Keep has been featured on channels such as Clint's Reptiles and The Tarantula Collective. Currently, Elliott continues to grow Cobweb Castle through building the CZcams Channel and updating the wooden habitats to a new plastic design.

@@CobwebCastle yes she is! I had found her near a light in my grandmother’s house and decided it would be a bit safer for her and my grandmother (who is very afraid of spiders) if I had caught her and given her a home in an empty enclosure I had :) she’s been doing very well since i’ve had her, and I always love getting to check up on her when I get home from school :>

I agree! It’s very neat to interact with my spiders when I get home. I hope more people can come to appreciate them as much as we do one day. Thanks so much for watching 😁

The jumping spider is a male I’m pretty sure. I saw a video that the green fangs are males and pink fangs are females.

Thanks for watching! More ideas on the way! Please share with anyone you know who might also find this interesting. I’m still working my marketing angle. Would really like to get plugged in with educators 😉

I think you should make their hiding space larger. Here on base these spiders love hiding in the drums of trailers. When we remove the wheel you'll see a large spread of web on the drum. When we remove the drum you'll also see a pretty good spread of web where it hides. Just a suggestion ✌

Thanks so much for watching and the suggestions. I do have a model called Spider Lair that is open in the back. My hope is that people will experiment with other spiders and see which ones do well in this type of habitat. Although designed for the Southern House Spider, many similar spiders might find it cozy 😁👍
