As someone who runs a 3d design and animation agency I can confirm that benQ make some of the best monitors out there for eye health and they're everywhere in corporates. This is no different.
Thanks for the post and for watching.
Rocking dual GL2460 for almost 10 years now lol and I'm just thinking of switching because of the thinner bezels. BenQ is crazy bang for buck!
BenQ makes some great screens. Just make sue if you need 1080 or 4K.
You cannot go wrong with a BenQ monitor, the GW2490 is a bargain at this price.
It's top of its class for 109
@@craigneidelThis video was so timely! I picked up a GW2490 and a GW2790 for my workstation displays this week. I’m extremely happy and LOVE the blue-light eye care reduction feature. And best of all, the two monitors together cost less than the ONE 27” model I had been looking at!
post a comment if you have this monitor. I think for $110 it's a great option as a second screen for things like stocks, news, or anything for additional content.
I'll get mine tomorrow, I'll give you an update!
@@windowstips1430 if 1080p works it's a quality monitor by BenQ. Just remember what your buying which is a 100 monitor.
@@craigneidel Oh I totally know, it's replacing another 21.5 inch monitor
I'm going to be using this monitor as my secondary monitor alongside my 27-inch monitor. Should I get the 27-inch or 24-inch version of this monitor? I plan on using it in portrait and have plenty of space on my desk.
huh we have the same question
Only you can answer that.
You dropped that video pretty early for your timezone! Yeah, the BenQ monitors are great, especially the PD series.
Yes monitor is great for money.
Yeah, my daughter enjoy using the BenQ GW2485TC. The price is right for student. I am eyeing the PD3225U in coming Black Friday 😆
I hope they put a sale up on Black Friday.
That's a great looking monitor, especially at that price point.
It's a nice panel for 110
Thanks for the review. I've been looking to buy a new monitor for home use after doing a lot of research online I find this monitor best for budget. In India it costs around 8000-9000₹ rupee on online store (so comparing to other monitors at this price range it's a steal deal must buy)
Yes, for a budget screen it's one of the best as long as you want 1080p. Thank you.
I bought this monitor after your review, but I feel the text is a bit blurry with default settings. What settings What should I change to improve it please ? I have the 24 inches model.
At 1080P I think it's about as sharp as a 1080P monitor gets. Don't forget it's around $100 and only 1080 but I thought it was good in that range for sure.
1920 x 1080
Is it good for gaming and how long would this monitor last? Thanks
It is what it is in the sense it's a 1080P monitor so if that meets your needs it would be good for gaming. It also has the 100 HZ. BenQ are know to last and are quality displays.
I have an old computer with vga, is there vga to hdmi adapter?
Between this and 2480, which one should I get?
Is the joystick sturdy and wont break in the future?
I'm not sure about an adapter and I would confirm on the Amazon page it will work for you. These are very inexpensive monitors but I think for the money the BenQ is pretty nice.
I do coding, surf internet, and watch movies and stuffs. So will it be perfect for my needs?
as long as you are fine with 1080P then it's a great monitor.
Which is better
Msi pro mp251 or this benq
I don't have great experience with the MSI but BenQ makes great monitors so for just over 100 bucks I think it's worth it. It's a budget monitor of course at that price.
This Benq. The MSI Pro MP251 has only 95.9% sRGB vs BenQ 99%. And BenQ's Pixel Density is at 92 while MSI at 89.
Thanks.
Hi! Which monitor would you suggest for sharp text? Around 200$ in India?
I would go with the best 4K monitor you can find if you want the sharpest text but of course there are so many options but maybe not at that cost. I have not tested all monitors especially many $200 4k monitors so I'm not sure of the best choice in that exact range.
@Craig Neidel Black levels is good or like all ips glow ?
For the price they are about as good as they get.
Just curious. Can this model use with any adjustable stand from like Dell?
I think you can vesa mount one on there.
as it has auto brightness sensor..suppose it is not detecting the light properly..or i want to manually keep one fix brightness?can i do that?i mean can i turn that auto brightness off?
Yes, you can turn it off and program brightness so it stays in one place. I was just adjusting mine for the video and I need to keep it low brightness when filming.
I have a 2283 and it kept adjusting, even if I moved my hands. I had to turn it off it was annoying
Bought today, only problem I found is we can see pixels clearly.
It's 1080p. Of course it's not 4k.
Sir i am confused between benq gw 2490 vs msi pro mp 251 .....which one will be good 😊
I don't have a ton of experience with the MSI.
@@craigneidel how about the features of msi pro mp 251
I'll need to review once I get a bit of time on that.
Would this be a okay choice for my IMac m3? I use it as a secondary monitor for marketing.
@@courtneycobb43 if your fine with 1080p it's going to be fine for that.
@@craigneidel I ordered it and wow! You weren’t wrong, this monitor is amazing
Thanks and yes, it's a large screen and is very nice. Good luck with everything.
Can i mount this monitor on we clever dual monitor stand and in amazon basis dual monitor stand ??
It has a standard vesa mount so it that works then I don't see why not.
How will this monitor be for photo and video editing?
It's 1080p. So if that resolution works for you then it's one of the best but of course it's not 1440 or 4K.
Is 27 inches for this monitor good for coding, or should I go with 1440p?
Thi is a 24" monitor. If you are using for a job I would maybe go with 1440P as this one is 1080p. It's a good budget monitor but if coding all day you may want more resolution.
My eyes are pretty bad. My nearsightedness became worse after using vsp monitor. I don't have much money, is this a good choice to protect my eyes? pls rep me
If you are good with 1080P it's a nice monitor for the money.
@@craigneidelBenQ 2490 or Lenovo L24i-40 ? I am hesitant help mee
@@ucanh8648 BenQ for sure
Please tell me about backlight bleeding i am confused to buy whether this one or the lg24mr400.
I don't have much at all with my BenQ. But I haven't really used the LG too much to compare.
@@craigneidel thanks you so much for your reply, sir please can you give me an image in black screen of this monitor so that I can see it's back light. Please sir it would be a great help.. you give me drive link of that image.🙏
I would just go to rtings and see their review. They do a better job.
@@craigneidel already checked no one did that..
I don't have this setup now but if I do I'll see what I can do. I get so many monitors to test I only have a few in use at the same time.
Can we use this monitor vertically/ potrait
It doesn't appear so but you can mount a vesa mount and then rotate it that way if your arm allows it.
I bought the BenQ GW2283 but I wish the stand wasn't so tall as it places the top of the monitor above eye level. I need a 22 inch monitor that is not so high up
I'm not sure but the GW2490 doesn't appear that high to me so that could be a good choice.
@@craigneidel
Viewsonic has a Model 2247 which is MVA and not IPS.
Does it matter between IPS and MVA on which would be better for the eyes?
Mainly for text, I websurf a lot and read articles. I could barely make out the text on my old Samsung monitor.
Thanks and your review was excellent.
I would really need to test it out to be honest or I would just be guessing. Let me know what you choose.
@@craigneidel
I went back to my old monitor for now, changed the settings and it isn't bothering my eyes much anymore. However it doesn't have any blue light blocking so I will get a new one in a month or so
Good luck
Can we connect Amazon fire stick to this monitor?
I don't see why not and thanks for watching.
Same model with 27 inch will the text get a little blur
Maybe a little but Benq is one of the best at sharp text on Macs when dealing with non-5K monitors.
@@craigneidel My old Samsung Monitor got so bad with text using my Mac Mini I had to buy a new monitor.
The 27" is a better deal
Maybe but this is good for limited space
@@craigneidel i have a 27" imac, if i want to add a second display it would be a 27" not 24"
Yes, the 27" is basically the same.
I am sure not the best 😅
Something needs to be
What next? Best CRT?
Some people still want a inexpensive monitor for things
I made my first 5000 dollar from a 720p 19 inch monitor before upgrading to a g9 odyssey. People without hurdles would never ever know the value of certain things.
