- I use this much more often than the Jescar Correction Compound. This can be used for finish or as a one step. I use with RUPES foam pads.

Stay tuned for more crazy!
Now find a car with trash paint and dial-in in video of 30 min minimum each episode like old washing videos. Glad we have you, tv nowdays are garbage
Just used Perfect finish yesterday, my compound was carpro clearcut which seemed to dust like crazy and finished up with SPF. That polish is awesome and it's all I will use regarding polish from now on.
Highly recommended...
I used the Sonax cut max on my E36. With black paint. Clear coat wasn’t corrected in years. Now I have micro scratches and I though a sealant and wax would fill them in, I was being lazy didn’t want to go around the whole car again polishing. They didn’t. So now I want to fix them. Think this will completely get rid of the swirls. Even if it fills them idc. I just want perfect paint lol. Cheers Matt
If you used CutMax, that should have removed all of the scratches. Perfect Finish would then remove the haze.
Obsessed Garage thanks for the reply Matt! I ended up pulling the trigger on Scholl concepts s40. Much less cut. And will get rid of the swirls. And no longer using chemical guys pads. If it ain’t German I ain’t wit it lol. Hopefully I’ll get some sweet results.
PF for soft paint, and C&F for hard paint, that is the order or rumor, but YMMV with different pad aggressiveness
Any fillers (if applicable) would be removed anyway by the CarPro Eraser / IPA wipe after polishing.
Very informative. Just the info i was looking for.
Whats better for da perfect finish or cut and finish and what would you use on soft paint out of the 2
Thanks for sharing Matt!
Very good video. To bad i did not see you at work. Thank you.
Sonax Perfect Finish is easy to work with and wipes off easily. It does dust a bit but it is by far my favorite polish and my go to for a one step. I have been experimenting with Sonax Cutmax with a Meguiars microfiber pad and I really like it for paint that has heavier scratches. Then I follow it up with Perfect finish and the paint always looks amazing. One question though, was the training worth the money at Esoteric? I have been giving it quiet a bit of thought on whether I should go or not. Great video man!
You will learn a ton. Esoteric is the best training I have received.
Im going to buy this polish and try it on my griots G9 orbital polisher, do you think this and a black pad would be a good compromise ?
Nice video, this polish is getting excellent reviews.
It's really good.
I was wondering were you stand and feel about swissvax products. I've been looking into buying some of their polishes and wanted to know if you had any experience with it. Thanks.
I have vw golf can i do it with my hamd and a sonax pad?
When do you pull out the white pads? does it depend on the paint type, or do you use it as the 2nd step with the perfect finish?
Definitely paint dependent. I use white a lot more often when I 2 step a car.
I have a 1997 black Toyota 4Runner and for the first time I am doing a 2 step process and filling in the deep chip marks and scratches with primer and paint and sanding it with 1500. I used Jescar Correcting Compound with a DA for the first step and it came out great. I have the Sonex and HD Speed for the polish step with the DA. Question what pad do you recommend and second since I am new to this should I wax the car after the polish step or leave it and If I need wax which product do you recommend.
Sonax will fill a bit, but won't leave anything other than some polish oils behind. You'll want to protect the surface with a wax, sealant, or coating. I love RUPES Yellow pad with Perfect Finish.
Dude you have to make a video about vacums. I have one for my appartement thats really bad and that was even a 200 dollar one not a cheap 50 bucks one. For my car the one is okay ish but could be better. You really dont find any info on vacums, only tests from people who have no idea what they talking about
ProjectGTR get the Ridgid 4 gallon 5Hp peak vacuum cleaner. I use it for my car and around the house. It is extremely powerful, durable (I actually left it outside a whole weekend and forgot about it and it rained a lot, I dried it up and fired it up the next day and it was like nothing happened) and affordable. Got it at home depot for like 85 bucks tax included on Puerto Rico. I think it was on sale at the time.
Andres Rivera yeah i heard of these, sadly we dont have them in europe and EU regulation dont allow such strong vacum cleaners... All i can find is 1000 watt or 1500 watt max which is not even 2hp...
Ahhh that's sad to hear :( didn't know you were from Europe! Funny that I just vacuumed my car today with said unit.
I have a white 2017 RAM. I want to bring out the most gloss before applying a ceramic coating. The truck is kept indoors, so not much (if any) paint correction needed. Would this polish be overkill?
Definitely not overkill. This would be the minimum you will likely need.
was that a Rupes yellow pan ? and what is the white pan for ?
Matt - You make great videos - very informative, that's why I now subscribe. I have a '18 accord with light swirl marks and minor scratches from washing. I wanted to use Sonax Perfect Finish to correct and wanted to confirm using the yellow rupes pad or if you recommend any others. Additionally, I have scratching on the piano-black plastic on the doors and wanted to know if you recommend the same polish and pad for this area. Finally, I wondered how frequently you clean off the pad while working. I appreciate your help and have been thinking about getting a MTM SG-28 short gun with QDs from you!
You'll have to try it, but a white pad might do better on an Accord. I blow off the pad after a few sets of passes. Then swap to a fresh pad every couple of panels. Make sure you shake Perfect Finish well and often.
Thank you!@@ObsessedGarage
Always white with polish
Hey Matt I have a gray Acura TSX... it had swirl mark city.. I used meguiars ultimate polish and it reduced the swirls by about 60 percent.. but which of these products should I use for that remaining 40 percent
You'll probably need something better with Microfiber Cutting pad first. Jescar Correction Compound. Then this with yellow.
Yellow rupes pad ?
I noticed it says to use PF on a rotary. I’d imagine this would still work well on my griots DA correct? I have super fine light swirls in a few places that I can only see in the sunlight occasionally. Hoping this will be enough for a 1 step would you recommend compound first?
Yes, works fantastically well on a DA.
Matt, what speed on a d/a and in comparison to the yellow rupes pad, which griots would be similiar?
I use speed 4 on RUPES.
Hi i want to hand polish my car with sonax sponge application and sonax perfect finish! What will be the results, i want to vanish spiders and to be glosy
Its vw golf 2009
Or after that it will have haze ?
That will be really, really hard to do by hand. You really need a machine.
@@ObsessedGarage why would it be hard? Please explain, is it because the abrasives in the product need to break down a lot so it gives a smooth finish? What happens if using it by hand but don't work it into the paint as much will it leave behind haze?
heyyy can you try the rupes uno ?
Does Sonax Perfect Finish have too much cut for a new car that has a minimal amount of swirls?
It probably doesn't have enough. If a new car is swirled, it likely needs to be compounded.
Any problems with ceramic coatings after polishing with perfect finish? Trying perfect finish out this weekend then going to coat it
I haven't had any. Wipe down before.
Obsessed Garage great thank you
about how many cycles before it totally breaks down?
I was listening to the last episode of Larry's podcast with Kevin Brown, Stoops and Jason Rose and I'm more sold on SMAT compounds.
I would guess about 8 passes.
Eight full section passes, or one 4 up and and down-left to right crosshatch? Thx.
Meguiars SMAT compounds require a lot more skill than DAT polishes. You really have to know when to stop, reduce or add more pressure, amount of section passes, etc...DAT abrasives are more forgiving, like Matt said.
Can Perfect Finish be used on top of PPF?
Yes, it can.
Hey Matt, what pad would you suggest if I was using the Cut Max first? Thx
Microfiber Cutting Pad
Obsessed Garage would that also be the pad to use for Jescar correcting compound as well? Thx
Would it be possible to use this with a foam applicator pad by hand? I don't have any machine. I am going to use it on a metallic based grey Mercedes. Thanks!
Dude did you try this by hand? What are the results?
Dude did you try this by hand? What are the results?
@@nikosbn7079 Yes I used Chemical Guys orange and white hex hand polishing foam pads with Cut Max and Perfect Finish (two step) on my decade old Merc. It is hard work but it did revive the paint to a more lively, deeper colour, more metallic flecking. But I can still see love marks and I don't think I could get rid of those without a proper DA machine. Still happy with what I can do on a limited budget.
@@bowieknife i wil do if in a vw golf 2010 black color only one step with peefect finish hope i will see difference
After that was there be any haze in the car? I mean like blurry color??
@@nikosbn7079 maybe only a tiny bit after cut max. Zero haze from perfect finish. But my paint is metallic blue grey not black so it might be different.
Can I use Sonax Perfect finish by hand to remove light swirl marks?
It probably won't do much by hand, by you can try it.
Obsessed Garage 💪🏼
Is it working by the hand ???
@@richardlizares8824 my friend did you try by hand? What are the results?
@@ObsessedGarage does the car need to be clay bar before using SPF by hand?
i am hoping this does the trick on my mom's 2014 subaru forester(dark charcoal metallic)
. the paint is diabolical! very tricky! probably using my flex3401/orange pad...possibly my cyclo/orange. we shall seeeeee!
how’d it go
@@valkyrie_voodoo Sorry for the very late reply. It worked like a charm.
I thought you were gonna test it buddy
Im using this with a yellow pad on a black 300 c, should i go over with a white pad? its for my father for fathers day so i want it the best it can be.
You have to try out both pads. On black the yellow will probably finish better.
Would you recommend any other polish after this one for a "level 10" job or this able to take you all the way there?
I always finish with this. I don't think a dedicated jeweling is necessary.
Obsessed Garage thanks for the reply. Going to order some. Getting started with paint correction and have been watching as much as possible and this stuff seems good for one or two step jobs
So can this be used as a one step on a minor paint correction?
Definitely!
Thanks for the quick reply. Love your channel. You are the single reason I got into detailing and taking care of my vehicles on a whole new level. Its like therapy for me I really enjoy it. Thanks bud
Great video 👍🏼 Can you use the Rupes white pad with Sonax perfect finish?
You absolutely can, if you have a "soft" paint, or a brand new car which needs very little correction, a white pad with perfect finish works amazing. But often when you use a white pad, you dont need anything that cuts as much as this polish does. You do however get a pretty much perfect finish (no pun intended) with this and a yellow pad on most cars.
