Catch me on OSRS ---> Donnie Deez 😂
yess! haha
I thought you only played rs3 i remember you showing runescape back in like 2016
I literally just died at barrows from having the wrong prayer on watching this video haha
@@yuyuy193Sadly Rs3 isn't going anywhere, it's a dead game (2b xp player)
Yesssssssssssssss rocking the hcgim too! My man.
I'll add you on my iron. Slow Lambo is my name.
I see a stuck pixel 6:15 (far left under 'General' ) you can see it in the video editing timeline too.
this thing looks like a BEAST. I'm graduating from uni soon, might pick this up for holiday to celebrate. Gotta land that job first tho lol
Good luck man that is awesome.
That's Dope & Congratulations to you on all of your accomplishments 👍🏿💪🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
After owning an OLED TV, and a laptop with an OLED display, I can't go back. Even the most high-end LED monitor wouldn't sway me.
Wait what oled tv you have ? Also do you used oled tv for gaming ?
@@Asbel- I have the LG C9 OLED, a model from 2019 but it still looks amazing, and yes I do play video games on it
Yeah, I bet if you lost everything in a flood, you'd play on a cheap Hisense TV. I'm glad I grew out of my obsessive need to have the best. I'm happy with a $300 1440p LG display. Modern VA panels perform as well as IPS ones for motion handling and response and have better color fidelity. Maybe an expensive IPS panel can overcome the washed out look and give better blacks but not at my price point.
@@Lurch-Bot No. The insurance company would buy me a new, better OLED television. Always keep your insurance up to date and paid on time kids.
@@Lurch-Bot Key word is YOU not everyone is happy with a cheap hisense tv to have to play on every day so if you have the money might as well go for the best.
I'm sure the panel looks nicer than my 'old' 38" LG ultrawide, but I don't want to give up real estate. Still rocking their model from 2-3 years ago that is 3840 x 1600 and it works fine for my use cases.
Been looking to buy it but it still goes for €1400 here even though its a 2020 model
@@SarkkiKarkki oh you're right 2020! that price is crazy... it's a decent screen but OLED panels look so much better. I'm not sure why they haven't made a direct upgrade yet. The only big issue with this old one is one of the internal fans can be noisy. I finally sourced a replacement after 3 years so now it's quiet but I also bought it brand new when it was I think around $2000 USD. Horrible to need to replace a noisy fan on such an expensive monitor honestly.
I may need to vote with my dollars and pass. Give us 3840x1600 resolution 38 inch!
Exactly the same position here... with my *old* 3821dw haha... we're loosing pixel density from 109 to 102 if my memory is correct...
@@maximehebert3209 sounds right. I have the 38GL950G which is also 109ppi. I love the idea of a nice OLED panel but losing resolution for the same size is a big no-go for me. At this specific size and aspect ratio, 3840 x 1600 looks just perfect to me.
Yes loved the osrs feature!
I have last year's 45inch model. Despite the resolution, I don't think I can go back to a smaller gaming monitor now. The immersion of the 45inch display + 800r curve is just surreal.
I’m within my 60 days at Best Buy with my 45in. But I just got the 39in and returning the 45in. Trust me 39 is just better than the 45 and I have it stacked with a oled dell 4k monitor
I have the 45 ultragear too and had the 1st gen OLED 34 Alienware as well and honestly the resolution is not that bad to me - probably because every other aspect of picture quality is top notch on it. I bought one of the new 32 inch 4k's 240hz from this year as well and while the picture is sharper of course, once you flip on a game its not that big of a difference.
Hi Greg. I always give your videos a thumbs-up, even before I watch one. Yes, you're that great. I have one problem with most monitors with RGB lighting. How can you enjoy the RGB lights when you place the rear of a monitor facing a wall?
I have several LG panels I used to have different companies in the past but so far they've impressed me the most. Now I'm looking at this one 3 years is good enough to replace them. Right? lol
Looks good , but at $1,500 this monitor is a bit steep and I'd rather have higher resolution then a curved screen.
I have a 3440x1440, 34 inch, 144HZ curved monitor, and it was about a third of the price lol Comes with drawbacks, but what do you expect for a third of the price? Haha I love it anyway.
higher res ones are coming out later this year
@@newguy1122how much?
@@brando3342 OLED is the best.
no info on that yet, im assuming the price of this monitor or a little more.@@ikram2512
Hey dont knock that keyboard trackpad combo. That thing is the best for a theater setup! 😂
The perfect resolution would've been the ultra wide 1600p. It more for the density but still easier to handle than 4K. While that resolution. Is the resolution that those, panoramic movies use. You know, all those movies that when you watch on a 16:9 display still have black borders up and down. They are usually 1600/1616p when 4K. Like, Ready Player One and many old movies. There are variations. But more or less that. I really don't get why they stopped making 1600p displays. My favorites res usually banish. I really liked 19:10 1200p. And then the ultra wide 1600p.
You reminded me of Doug Demuro when you mentioned quirks and features!
Great video Greg. :)
Wow, that sure looks great. $1500 is just too much for me.
Samsung has a 49” curved with similar specs for $900
@@macking104 link
@@macking104 No that's VA. The 49" 32:9 is really just a wider 34" 21:9 ultrawide or put another way two 27" screens side by side, the height is about the same. The 39" is a significant bump in vertical height and that's what many of us have been waiting for.
Looks interesting. How much taller is the screen itself compared to a 27".. want to switch form current 49" to something a tad taller. Too many games are not designed with ultra ultra wides and have experienced too many issues. Including Starfield at release (no support what so ever and simple black boxes on the sides)
Yoo I just realized that in one of your videos you have a University of Lafayette UL shirt on. Right on man stay safe and keep it up
Whats the difference between this and their 45 inch oled monitor? If not just the size
How often do you do pixel refresh on that screen?
Hey Greg, about 20+ years ago, I saw in either a PC Gaming mag or Maximum PC, at Setup with 6-9 LCD Monitors running Microsoft's 'Flight Simulator' , & it looked like you were actually sitting in the Cockpit of a 747 !!!
You forgot to mention that these are also incredibly light weight. I bought the 45 inch LG and with everything in the box, it felt easy to carry around.
Is it better then the ultragear ultrawide 45 oled ?
I have had this monitor for a few weeks now, and for 8 hours a day it’s my work monitor. The curve is no issue for non-game apps and neither is the resolution. 39” 800r is the sweet spot. I had a 34” curved ultrawide before and felt it was too small. The 45” LG from last year at this res seemed too low DPI for the size when I saw it in stores, but definitely immersive. This is the Goldilocks for me and when sat at arms length, all areas of the monitor are the same distance from the middle to the far edges. My 3080 drives most games at high to ultra at it’s native res at triple digit FPS. My next card will be a 4090, which I fully expect to run RTX ultra and constant high triple digits FPS. The colors and the refresh are outstanding and at only 22lbs without the stand it mounted on my existing wall mounted monitor arm and I only had to make a half turn on the height counterbalance to retain my sit-to-stand, no effort height changes.
The "ideal" curvature depends on your distance to the screen. You would want to sit in the center of that radius. This way, all parts of the screen are at the same distance from your eyes. Compared to flat panels, especially ultrawides, this can actually help very much against eye strain due to you constancly refocussing. Do make sure to look away every once in a while though, not focussing for long times can also be very strenuous!
I have it. Arms length = all areas the same distance. Love it.
God damn, that's a beautiful monitor.
Because the monitor is curved and big, if you flop it then it needs to be fixed. So would that be Flop and Fix?
Thanks. This is actually the most consumer friendly review yet. I'm in the process of replacing two flat QHD with one curved - mostly for gaming and some office/productivity tasks. Guess this one does the trick, as the 800R also are the exact distance that i'm sitting away from the screens (under 1m / 39 inches) when i understood the explanations correctly? The farther away, the less aggressive the curve needs to be? Did i got that right?
Thanks for watching! Just want to clarify that this wasn't necessarily a "review" - LG sponsored this video. Essentially, we're just highlighting key features and things we like about the panel. As for the curve, there will be an optimal viewing distance such that the corners of the display are the same distance from your pupil as the center. The sharper the curve, the closer this distance will be to the screen itself by nature of the "R" value.
How can we see the winners of the giveaway? It ended today but I can't find a way of seeing the winners.
1440p for 39" is a bit too low. Anything under 100ppi is low-res IMO. They could've used 1600p. You can get an Odyssey OLED G9 for that price.
And I wouldn’t recommend you do. They have terrible problems. I’m getting a refund for mine
Was finally looking to pull the trigger on an ultra wide and my main man’s video popped up. It’s a sign
1440p is just too low. If this was a 1600p monitor it wouldve been an instant purchase from me personally.
Ill stick with my 3840x1600p LCD monitor for now.
Morning Coffee and Greg. Must be a good day. ❤
Morning Coffee and Greg. It will be a good day.
I got the previous version, the 45GR95QE-B a month ago and I am LOVING it. If you’re an ultrawide aficionado and in the market for a new monitor, pull the trigger! 👍
Looks good, but honestly a bit dim if you're gonna enable HDR. Especially considering it's an OLED!
I think my ONLY concern is the pixel density on this thing, and while I know it's fine for gaming (I've used less, tbh) I don't think LG's policy covers a single dead pixel, but a dead pixel at that PPI is going to be really noticeable
Wow I didn't even think of that, great point!
In many countries with strong consumer laws like Australia or NZ, doesn't actually matter what is written in the manufactures warranty, a single dead pixel is cause to request/demand a replacement as a manufacture defect.
This would be good on sim racing
That is a great monitor
1,500 are you insane!?!?
Lucky you if this the price in ur country, in my country it’s almost 2100$
I'm curious about the size of the market for a monitor at this price tag.
Small... oh so very small.
Is the 95 PPI complaint some sort of "purist" point of view? I sit at around 3 feet (1 meter) from my screen and the 45" version that i tested for a week looks perfect. It also has a 21:9 3440x1440 resolution and it has a PPI of 81 if I remember correctly. I tried really hard to see what people complain about but couldn't notice it. So i guess a 39" with the same RS would be even harder to notice. I'm currently on an Alienware aw2725df at this moment but everything looks small, and the test is difficult to read at 3 feet distance, so back to the 45 or maybe the 39 inches i go.
if the 45inch that you saw looked great PPI wise, then this will look even better!
@@mmmm69420 I did get the 30" in the end. Looks wonderful to me!
I have a 45 inch oled LG and live it

4k UltraWide 5120x2160@@MacVerick
@@dangabbay1 Right now I am torn between all of the options. I need to upgrade ever since I tried it out at a friends.
You mean 2160P (5120x2160), there can technically never be a 4K version as 4K does not fit the aspect ratio :P.
having an ultrawhide myself i do have complaints about resolutions in videogames, or u are stuck playing in the middle of the screen or everything is just stretched sideways :/ but overall i love it (i have the LG 29UM59 bit older but does the job!)
Anyone ever notice Greg's on the Bean Boozled 6th Edition box art?
2:17 Where's the 4K OLED panel?
this monitor looks great.
My dream monitor is a monitor that has high ppi, 1440p, OLED(good color accuracy), HDR, ultra wide and 120Hz-144Hz. That would be a real good monitor that I will use for 10 year mayber even more. 120Hz-144Hz is somewhat easy to achieve and have a lower latency while loooking real good.
Perfect timing, as I’m considering a monitor upgrade!
I am surprised that u haven't reviewed the 500hrz monitor lol
Only been on 1440p for a couple of years and don't really have the GPU to support a wide display comfortably anyway. But this looks like a nice monitor to get if I win the lottery :P
I've been enjoying my budget monitor just fine. I was previously using an old Samsung FHD TV as a display. I use some sort of PC to stream content so an actual TV is pretty useless to me at this point. I don't have a big house so I don't need a huge panel to see it from across the room. As someone who grew up in the '80s and '90s, a 32" panel looks pretty big to me.
Fun fact, a modern 32" panel has about 20% more display area than a 27" CRT TV, which was a medium size TV back in the day. The largest CRT monitor I ever owned was 21" and had about 8.5% less display area than a modern 23" panel.
I really want this or the asus 39. Still waiting for release in my country
I love my LG 4K TV. LG have colours so dailed in! Watching about this LG monitor on it :)
Is this monitor worth that much money? NO but just think in several years time these kind of monitors will be more of reasonable price range.
How deep is the stand?
I can't believe it only has one HDMI, no USB-C port and no speakers but I will be receiving this monitor today from Amazon so I am looking forward to seeing the quality of the display in person finally!! TYSM for the great review of the LG 34GS95QE! :)
Only 1 HDMI? Did you not watch the video? Has two. Plus a DP 1.4 port.

@GregSalazar
I'm actually taking out a loan from my retirement to get this monitor, lol. But after seeing this review, I'm convinced. My only question is, did this monitor just release? I'm not seeing many reviews on it. Would appreciate your response. Love the video and your content!
Wooooooo its a beauty
watching this video right after waking up to my tv going out lol
Can you get two more and set them up side by side to see how well they look together in a trip mon set up? lol
The only thing I don't think you covered is burn in. I have the Dell Alienware OLED and it gets burn in after about 3 months of use and I keep using the warranty to exchange. Not sure if the LG is better in this regard or what their warranty covers?
lg is the best in the market for oled. i have oled tv i would fall asleep too and its 3 years old with no burn in. Ive had lg led for 12 years now and now dead pixels
This makes it super easynto choose then i was going to get A G4 Lg Tv for my all AMD ring the Alienware QD-Oled i got doesnt have HDMI 2.1. but this will be a better option 👍
gonna wait for the 4k version
Good luck im waiting for Years and nothing in sight.
I still cant find an ultrawide (21:9) true 4k monitor with a high refresh rate. Highest I've seen in that resolution is 75hz. I know they just announced a 240hz 4k panel, but its not ultrawide. Every ultrawide I find still says its 3440x1440 :(
I finally have a 4090 and I want to move to 4k, but I also want to go with ultrawide. I know Samsung has its g9 dual 4k 240 hz but that is a super ultrawide and over 2500 bucks...
I just want a standard ultrawide, in 4k (which I guess would be 5120x2160) at 144hz or more. PLEASE!
The more I see curved monitors, the more I believe they are da way. Great video sir.
I have a Sceptre C305W-2560UN, LED Monitor, Curved, 30", 2560 with 1080p
1800r curve and this would be an instant buy for me. The 800r is just to sharp of a curve for an productivity work imo
I have this monitor and for 8 hours a day it’s my work monitor. The curve is no issue. Neither is the resolution. 39” 800r is the sweet spot. I had a 34” curved ultrawide before and felt it was too small. The 45” LG at this res seemed too low DPI for the size, but definitely immersive. This is the Goldilocks for me and when sat at arms length, all areas of the monitor the same focal distance from the middle to the far edges. My 3080 drives most games at high to ultra at it’s native res. My next card will likely be a 4090 which I fully expect to run RTX ultra and constant triple digits FPS.
Give me two LG. I need one for tanning 🤣
I might buy one if they make a 1080p version but I don't expect that to happen unfortunately, because bigger number sells better I guess. I don't see the point for 1440p: The fonts in the native resolution are too small for my aging eyes, the GPU has more to compute and I don't see the pixels either on a 1080p display at an appropriate distance. Also many older games are intended for 1080p. I had once a 3x1440p monitor setup, it was absolutely terrible for said reasons. I got a 3840x1080p monitor then, I like that much more but I'm not very happy with the colors and the backlight.
took me some time to get used to my Sceptre 30-inch Curved Ultra Wide Gaming Monitor 21:9 2560x1080
So excited for it to come out in Europe and more soon in France... we will always have the same tax problem with a screen that will be 10/15% more expensive
In any case, I only have one fear and that is the brightness, because I saw reviews of the 45 inch, the image looked very dark and I have the impression that it is Looks much brighter, doesn't it? yet there is only 75 nits difference and in peak so in constant it must be similar ?
Are you able to use Ergotron HX for monitor arm?
Yeah you are able to
a tempting panel but there are a few things keeping me from getting this. no usb-c, the resolution should be higher, I prefer my oleds to have a glossy screen, i kinda would like it to come with a remote and a next gen displayport to get it ready for next gen graphics cards i suspect will come with it. Prolly non issues for some but if im paying an arm and a leg for this id like a little more value.
If money is a non-issue, then get it for sure but there are many monitors at similar (aka indistinguishable) spec at ~500 USD price
Great vid tho!
