In those days most ranchers tried to keep a good association with the rustlers. The ones that tried to fight the wrestlers are the ones that lost stock. Although curly Bill and Johnny Ringo were definitely cattle rustlers the mclaries in particular were not although they might offer their house for cattle rustlers to sleep at and from time to time.
Nice job Mike. A great book with several Earp interiews is Alford E. Turner's "The Earps Talk" published by Creative Publishing Co., College Station, Texas 1980.
