  • (2:30 - Main Presentation) Dr. Darlene Mininni shares how resilience, emotional intelligence and mindfulness can affect physical health. Science consistently shows that positive emotions make a physiological impact on one's life - whether you are 18 or 80 - and Dr. Mininni offers practical advice to bring more well-being into your life. This lecture is part of the Frank B. Roehr Memorial Lecture Series, which was established by Mr. Roehr's daughter, Suzanne Angelucci, to inform the public on topics associated with the power of humor and positive thinking. Such important information. Very profound and a powerful lecture. Thank you. It is a privilege, and an honour, to be alive when this information is accessible to our society and our generation. The hard work that has gone into developing and acquiring such knowledge to then share with our population is just grand.

Being optimistic when things are not so good is about enjoying each moment, each interaction and keeping the self belief high even when others are letting doubt in ... In the end the win is all the more sweeter .... I lived in my car for over a year ... What an amazing year it was for me ... ❤️

Thank you Dr. Mininni. psychology is my love..I feel like it is the core of humans.
It is so serious that.. I think states should include psychotherapy in being a requirement for habitual violators.
As a matter of fact.. it should be taught in slight as early as possible in schools instead of waiting until high school.

Here you are giving a lecture of on "Post Traumatic Growth"; totally amazed that you've never heard of it before. But, here's where you young intellectuals get funny...just look back over you shoulder. In my days it was (and still is by common sense folks) called "WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER." "Look at things as they are, but not worse than they are!"
This is being touted as realistic optimism when actually it's simply being realistic, not optimistic. They want to try and distance themselves from the Pollyanna accusations being made against this market driven rather than science driven move in academic psychology since Seligman became influential.
