    The SDCC Hulk was actually the first release I believe. The 80th anniversary 2 pack Hulk came soon after. So technically the SDCC release was the original body mold. I remember that’s why I was really excited when the 80th anniversary Hulk came out. It felt like the spiritual successor of the Toybiz face off Hulk we got way back. I still think that one may have the superior head sculpt.

      I knew they were close, but couldn't remember exactly which one was first so thanks for that! I'm honestly still bummed I missed out on getting the SDCC one too. I'm not a huge Hulk fan, but I've just got this completionist itch to scratch... haha! Do you have the SDCC or any of the other Hulks?

      @@ComicallyToys unfortunately I just have the latest 20th Anniversary Hulk, but I do really like the headsculpts. I missed out on he others as well so I feel your pain 10 fold lol. Still considering getting at least the 80th anniversary & First appearance Grey Hulks when I get the funds.

    • @ComicallyToys
      @ComicallyToys  Před rokem +2

      For sure. I think we have a lot more Hulks to come in the future anyway too as they still can(and probably will) release a first appearance Hulk(both a grey and green version), Weapon H, and who knows how many other versions that I'm not even aware of.

      @@cdubbart I remember during the pandemic in sometime between either April-June of 2020, I was able to snag an Mint SDCC Hulk online from a seller if I came remember correctly in Taiwan for just around $76. I jumped at the price so quick! I felt so lucky. Especially since I had waited and wanted that particular Hulk since it came out during SDCC in 2019. The prices were high on that figure and I believe jumped up again since.

      NICE score man! The current prices are definitely too high for me.

    I have always loved the Incredible Hulk, so I'm glad that you got around to doing this one! Personally, I still don't think that Hasbro has given us the best classic Hulk figure. The head sculpts just aren't as good as I feel they should be. The 80th is still my favorite version in the Marvel Legends line, but after I repainted the head on the 20th Anniversary Hulk to match the paint with the rest of the figure, that one looks good too. The only things that I don't like about it are 1) The way the peg is, it looks like the 20th Hulk has no neck! Ugh. 2) The side burns. I've been reading Hulk for nearly 50 years, and he NEVER had sideburns like he has in the 20th head sculpts. I also like that 80th Grey Hulk figure. It's quite nice. The recent Diamond Select Hulk figure is pretty sweet, even though he's a larger scale, and his mouth is wide open. I did manage to get a custom head for mine that I like quite a bit.
    We ever going to get a nice, retro Doc Samson figure? I'd really like to have one. I'd also like to get a Bi-Beast BAF somewhere down the line. He's one of those Hulk villains that seems to be forgotten. Maybe when they finally get around to giving us the U-Foes and a host of other characters that they've never done, eh? I have hope though, because they finally are giving us a decent comic book retro Ant-Man! I have pretty much not liked any of their previous attempts at Ant-Man, but this new one is right on the money. Sure, I wish it had a bunch of extra accessories, but it' a great looking classic Pym or Lang looking Ant-Man, so I'm happy. They actually got the helmet right! Woot! About time. lol.
    Someday, I'd like to get a stellar looking classic "Hulk smash!" Hulk. Maybe in that upcoming Hulk and Dr Banner 2-pack?? Let's hope!

    • @ComicallyToys
      @ComicallyToys  Před rokem +1

      The no neck thing is a totally fair issue that I agree with! I'm not super sure what's up with the 20th Hulk head either in terms of design. It might be from a newer comic maybe? But I don't generally keep up with Hulk comics... Please share pictures of your Hulk with the custom head! Personally I'd really like the "smart" Hulk from the 90s in the black tank top haha!
      And yeah a retro Doc Samson is a fantastic idea. I think they should redo the Leader as well. The Pizza Spidey buck doesn't feel right for his character. And this is the same for Ant-Man. The previous one was decent, but the upcoming one looks way better for sure. You know, I wouldn't be surprised if the U-Foes come down the line for the MCU in the future so figures would definitely be made too.
      I didn't know there was a Hulk/Banner 2 pack coming!!

    I wondered when a Hulk Buyers Guide was coming! Very cool. I think I still like the 80th the best, but the two head sculpt options on 20th are nice. Wonder who is next in line for a Buyers Guide... maybe Daredevil or Black Widow? 😅

    • @ComicallyToys
      @ComicallyToys  Před rokem +2

      I was pretty excited to do this one too! What's interesting about Hulk is that he isn't THE most popular character, but due to his size, his aftermarket cost is generally higher because of shipping. So it kind of seems like he's popular because of the price comparisons. Those are some interesting guesses for future videos! Hmmmmm

    I was so disappointed that Hasbro went cheap and reused the same legs on the Maestro. He should’ve had blue pants and boots, not ripped, but that would’ve required a new mold.

    • @ComicallyToys
      @ComicallyToys  Před rokem +1

      Actually I don't think it would have needed a whole new mold! I don't think it would have been hard for them to just use the legs of Thanos to accomplish what you're saying. Quick and easy with the right color scheme too. But sadly here we are. And since it's Hasbro we know they are going to milk the mold a bit more. I'm still expecting to see a Weapon H any day now.

    • @ryandaly01
      @ryandaly01 Před rokem +3

      Actually, looking closer, I think both Thanos and the Controller would be too small. It would need the Juggernaut's legs to not look wildly disproportionate.

    • @ComicallyToys
      @ComicallyToys  Před rokem +1
