When my mom divorce my Dad. Everyone told her she made a wrong decision that "how could she divorce after having 4 children together" .. but i definitely remember my mom's words that year 2009 , she said "I'm filling for a divorce because of my children, because i don't want them to grow up in a stale environment , don't want them to grow up with parents that no longer acts like couples" .... and now i could understand her words,, she raised the four of us all by herself and I will forever be grateful to her .. she raised us so well ....I can proudly say to anyone that I was raised by a single mom .... Thanks for this episode King Tonto 🥰♥️ ... really enlightening and i could relate well also ♥️🙏🙏

I used to fight with hubby a lot. There was so much animosity . My kids will go to school and confide in their teachers that mummy and daddy fight a lot. Before then I knew it wasn't good for their upbringing . I made up my mind I have to go cos now the fight was turning to violent one. I am happy though I miss my kids cos he denied me to communicate with them. It was best decision

@@balqislifestyle He has no right to deny you access to your children most Nigerian men do this and it's not acceptable at all. You know your right. You can only be denied access to your children if you have mental issues or you are violent towards your children, otherwise you have full right to seeing your children. Go to court this is no longer the the days of our mothers and grandmothers where men lord it all. As a matter of fact children are better off staying with mothers. But if he thinks he can take care of the children that's fine, but you need to see your children at least once a month to know what's going on with them. I was a victim of that. My parents separated and my dad kept us in the name of 'he loved us so much' he denied my mum access to seeing us. He got another wife who mistreated us so much. My dad was not always there. We all went through hell in the hands of the evil stepmother which has hunted us until our adult lives. You need to fight for your children. You need to be there for them. I bet you they are going through some emotional trauma that you can't even imagine.

It's sad to know that an abused child eventually becomes an abuser.
Domestic violence makes me cry, it's the worst experience and must be frowned at, we must stand firm against it with all our might. So help us God.
I pray that a strong system emerges fast here in Nigeria to really fight against domestic violence till the culprits are dealt with accordingly.

The earlier we curb against this, the better. Adequate orientation should be given to children from their tender age in all spheres of the child's exposure like at home, school, church, camps...

This is so educative... my mum (May her soul Rest In Peace) was abandoned by my dad for years. Many years later she got a message from my dad telling her that he wants a divorce. It broke my mum down and she spent the few years left for her begging my dad for forgiveness even though she knew she had done absolutely nothing wrong. My mum would always tell us (her 7 kids) every time we try consoling her, that she doesn’t want us to grow up in a broken home and she was so scared of how it might affect us in future... She died few years later of high blood pressure right in front of me... I wish I had watched this video before my mum died... maybe she would have stopped bothering herself about my so called dad and who knows, she might have lived longer than she did or even lived till today... Thank you so much for king Tonoto I’ve learned a lot from this video

Don't bring up a child in an abusive home cuz it will definitely have an infect on the child.. Those who don't have the opportunity to watch this, you can save the video to show them cuz everyone plays an important role in bringing up a child. I suffered this too. When my mom and I will have to leave the house after my dad has beaten her up. Sometimes, we will sleep at the market or at her friend’s place. I was 6 then. Sometimes, I will skip school, cry and eat late. Until one day, when my elder brother decided to talk back at my dad threatening to beat him up if he touches my mom. Till now, things changed. My dad stopped, and things r better now. I don’t think it was the threat, it simply a decision he took . KingTONTO, anytime I watch some of your show, I remember some of my childhood days. My children won’t be a victim, and now you HVe taught me how I can also help married couples going through it as well. I love you. God bless you.

Watching this program just made me shed tears because as a kid I grew up watched my dad beat up my mom like a beast. I was just 6 years old by then . Added I that , he also brought his girlfriend at home who will come on to insult my mom each time she came . My dad will even left my mom with with my 1 month old brother and went to live with his gf. He will beat us up like adults. I don’t wanna keep talk cuz the more I type this here I shed tears .. Unfortunately my Dad died ( I was 6 by then )& my mom followed two year later .( 20 years ago) my Paternal family abandoned us to my mom s bro’s and I never saw them till the day my i wedded cuz they only showed up for the bride price as the African culture requires. I just have a lot to speak out but don’t know how to go about this . My life has never been thesame again. I have to live with past memories of my parents & that of my uncle..which wasn’t easy . This is the first time Saying this in public. I can’t keep talking cuz I’m in tears right now .. don’t want my colleagues to question me huh. Thks for this program big sis . God bless u

My mom raised us 3 as a single woman. She always told us that "I left your father not because he couldn't provide ( he was providing) but because of the neglect and abuse I suffered, I had 2 options, stay and die and leave you children motherless abd the option of leaving and being alive to take care of you children" .
Well, she left and made a life for herself and us. She never attended school but put us in private schools and today we are First degree holders.
So I agree with you King Tonto that a woman should leave an abusive man for the sake of her children's welfare rather than staying thinking it will help the child.

OMG!! This is just heart breaking😢... We have these married tenants in our house who are always fighting due to one reason or the other in the presence of their children and because of this, my parents gave them a quit notice... In the quest to know why the quit notice was given to them, they came one after another to get an explanation from my parents and my mom explained to them that all their fightings are the reason for the notice... Then the man explained that the reason for their fight is because his wife isn't submissive...he said he goes to work early in the morning to work hard for a better life for his children but his wife thinks he is cheating so she accuses him and thinks the solution is to fist fight...he even added that the lost a child already due to their fights and imagine since then the fights haven't stopped...well he eventually promised that it will never happen again...it's actually a very long story but it's quite hurtful that Even after losing a child because of fights...you still continued...like is it until you lose all the rest of your children before you stop fighting?? They will even fight in the presence of the children and the children also miss classes and exams because of the fights...I just really feel bad for those kids because they're so young and they have to go through all this

She never gave us the chance to feel worried about not having a dad around us. We actually lost our dad wen were kids. Mum had to stand firm to cater for us cos with in her she knows that God give and he takes away when its needful. My elder brother was 5yrs n de second born was 3yrs, i was 2yrs and my little sister was a baby. It's been 16 good years and my mum did everything she can to keep us safe. We could tell that she's going through alot but we just want to grow up and make her proud. So with this topic on Divorce and its abuse on children is very Good.

    I love this session!!
Especially the part where u said a woman in an abusive relationship shouldn't have to stay because she want her children to grow up in a complete family which includes the father. Neglecting the fact that the children could grow up thinking abuse is the only way to show love.
I had this debate with some friends and they kept saying a woman shouldn't leave her husband for no reason instead she should pray to God to intervene and help the husband change. They said that going thru divorce is only showing ur children that divorce is okay.
I actually gave in to their point of view cus I didn't have enough points to back up my own views on the matter.

My I said what I said cute looking king Tonto💕💕... Effects of divorce and domestic violence on children has done more harm, they are on serious risk for long-term physical and mental health problems, infact they feel out of this world... No child is designed to fail, it starts from the parent.. Environment has a lot of factors to play in the development of a child, that is the future... Thank you King Tonto and Mr Ayo for a wonderful lecture, it was an eye opener and very educative... Much love💕💕

Honestly I can relate to all this. Growing up has also been difficult before my dad died earlier this year my parent were separated for some years and it affected me. My mom single handedly raised and trained my brother and I. They started communicating a late last year and I prayed it got better till he died on the 25th of February this year. All this things affect a child. Things they both say and all and my mom doesnt know all these things. She thinks the best way to train a child is how her father trained her and she hasnt changed and it is affecting us. But because I know what she goes through to make us happy and put food on the table I try ot to make her angry but my brother and I are the ones hurting and suffering. I'll show her this video once she gets back from work today. This is amazing. Thanks Mama, I definitely wont make this mistake in my own time

I had issues with my child's dad for 3 months now concerning taking care of the boy because he does nothing about the child's responsibilities and he never called or try to check on the child, i did everything on my own. sometimes the boy will cry and asked that he would like to speak with his dad, i'll call him and after speaking with his child, he's no more. I thank you a lot King Tonto. God bless you. Some me are really not worth it at all.

I have 3kids now, I try my very best to train them both in the kind of environment we live in, education and morally so as not to go thru what I did so help me God 🙏😇

I grew up in an extended family home where everyone older than me has the 'correct me'... I a very emotional person had to suffer both verbal, physical and emotional abuse directly or indirectly due to that (not even from my parents)
I've naturally now developed a tough skin and has guarded my heart and thought unconsciously...I know I've been affected both positively and negatively, But I keep working on my self. I've learned and unlearned a lot of things.... What keeps me going is the fact that *I love myself* too much to allow external factors determine my happiness

I love that they touched on this topic. Divorce is an issue occuring at an alarming rate throughout the world. People get married carelessly and at the slightest issue..end up divorcing putting their children in a state of conflict. And kids should definitely be educated on domestic abuse and divorce. Because it's becoming so normal to have divorced parents or parents that were never married

All episodes of the Grub and Rub plus the DIY has been amazing.the one that I can't just help thinking about ever since the video is the last Grub and Rub.
Topic: The side effects of divorce/violence and neglect on children.
Guest:Mr Ayotunde Fasanya(the only guest with longest honours and resume like Mama King said)
    Delecacy: bugger;fries;milk shake; tacos.
Moral lessons:Am a mum of 3 children (2boys and a girl).Being a mum is the most amazing and very demanding thing I've had to do and still do.I really learnt so much and one line that stuck to my brains is that the environment you train your child/children determines what and how their future may likely turn out. God bless you Mama King for this and many more.i wish I can thank you in person.plus being one of the winners of the money will enable be start my food stuffs business to support my family and give my children the very best.thanks once again ma'am.

I know of a friend that got married 2014 and just a year after, I noticed she stopped using her husband's name on social media and when I asked what happened she said she is filing for a divorce, but I couldn't even asked her what really happened at that moment because she was heartbroken, her life was shattered and I was so happy when she won custody of her daughter. It was later revealed to me that he is a cheat and usually abuse her but am so happy she left him for good.
