Never gets Old! 1) As a multi a Tesla owner and prior Porsche owner , the Model 3 Performance just beat the 911 GT3 in an autocross matchup. Model 3 Performance track mode is Porsche level handling and acceleration 2) I sat in a Taycan 4S recently and prefer my model 3 Visibility and simplicity but 3) the 2 gear thing and continuous power through state of charge down to 20% is a current Porsche plus plus. 4) Model 3 is actually more spacious inside 5) The Taycan 4S is the sweet spot in the Porsche lineup 6) My Model 3 Stealth Performance was only $51,000 at that time last year . So $75,000 for better interior fit and finish for more it’s not a compelling alternative . I have a custom red seat interior on my Model 3 , which I enjoy 7) The 2021 updates for Ev’s is gonna be awesome with Tesla new battery pack upping the game even further . More power density , lighter battery, faster charging !
Comparing a Taycan to a Tesla because they're both electric is like comparing a Lamborghini to a Rolls Royce on the grounds that they both have engines.
Suggestion for your POV camera placement: Instead of inside the car on the passenger's side, try putting that camera outside, on the top middle part of the windshield (i.e. behind the rear view mirror), so we can get a clearer view of the POV shot. (Slightly closer to the driver's side is fine, as long as it doesn't interfere with your driving.)
JOE ~ Tesla got the ball rolling for ev's but Porsche is the master & regardless of costs differences my opinion is the Taycan (any variety) smashes every Tesla all day all night long & will retain it's value better, it's build quality, fit & finish are superior & we will see the Porsche ev's on the roads from this day forward, at best i can see Tesla doing it's all to maintain an edge in the market, but it looks like all the heavy hitters are soon to be contenders, it's possible one day Tesla will be like Studebaker (history). Porsche Taycan is one step forward they did in proving that eventhough they make EV vehicles, they still make the styling looking attractive and thier design DNA can be implemented into this Taycan. Very beautiful.
To be completely honest, I love both gasoline and electric powered vehicles but what worries me is what the after market is going to look like for these vehicles. Typically, if you want to add more power to gas engine. You could go forced induction by adding a supercharger or turbo, or you could improve the ocerall efficiency of the engine by maybe adding air intake or a different exhaust. With electric cars, I feel that the age of modifying your car and working on it will cease to exist. There is only so much you can do to an electric car.
Great input Dylan. I think where people would do mods is my swapping out the batteries and electric motors. That would be SUPER expensive I would imagine.

I've been waiting to see a Taycan 4S up close. I'll just say this. I'm not an EV Evangelist; I just like cool high performance cars. Unfortunately the EV "premium" means I won't be driving one for a very long time. I currently drive a Jag XJ Supercharged. The interior of this Taycan is about equivalent to what I'd expect in an Audi A4. For $128K. Let that sink in. For those that want the "EV experience in a Porsche, its all yours. I'd buy a 2020 911 or Cayman GT4 all day long over this Taycan.

I dont think this was a competition against Tesla as the materials they use for seats and flooring are subpar; I see this being more at a swipe at B.M.W. i8 and the problems/issues they have been getting after 1/2 years of ownership....
I would rather have the Panamera if it was my money, and I would actually buy a VW Group product. The Panamera front styling is much better imo. That is a whole lot of tech and touchscreens to be problematic in the future. If I were going to buy a performance EV, I would rather have a Tesla Model 3 Performance. Same type of performance for half the money.
Model 3 is for the whippersnappers, Taycan for those who enjoy the finer things in life and don't have to rush anymore to arrive, because they are already there...
