  • Yes the Ford Mustang now comes in an electric flavour and of course has stirred up lots of debate.
The real Mustang will celebrate it’s 60th anniversary in a few years but let’s go back to the pony car’s 30th birthday.

It's hard to believe that in 2022, we're almost as far away from this 1994 Mustang as they were back then from the original Mustang (30 years).

First couple years Mustang was considered a women’s car until they bump up the power.

The Mustang has seen many changes along the way, as well as some things staying the same. Of course, today you can get a Mustang as an all-electric, all-wheel-drive four-door crossover with Mustang styling cues. I guess it's better to have that, than to see the Mustang name go away as V8 rear-wheel-drive pony/muscles become a dying segment.

No one, not even at mustang events, call those EV crossovers “mustangs.” Everyone calls them “Mach Es” even with the pony emblem. It’s not a bad vehicle, just a marketing gimmick hoping to sell more.
And the v8 mustang isn’t going anywhere. Not until they start making REAL mustang EVs, and the market decides they prefer that over the v8. Same way people started favoring automatic transmissions, and fuel injection. It takes time. It’s not like the Mach E is the next Mustang II, a car the public needed for the time period, and continuation of the nameplate, as there is still an ICE version.
