  • Watch this before you rent a mini excavator for clearing land! Work stress? Stuck in a building? Need some fresh air? Then join me for some cab time in the woods today! In today's episode we are back at our Southern Illinois Project 291 project investment property creating a new clearing in the woods (hardwood trees) with my bobcat e42 r2 series mini excavator. We've been in a drought for much of the summer and the ground (all red clay in our area) is literally like concrete, so grubbing the trees, and the tree roots is very challenging with a mini excavator! We are back at Project 291, our Southern Illinois investment property, after building a new road system with my bobcat e42 r2 series mini excavator and while a job like this can be mundane, it's the little wins like this that help to make the day go by a little better! Thanks for joining me today and be sure to stay tuned for updates on our Southern Illinois project property to see how things are progressing! #kapperoutdoors #kapperoutdoors2 #kapperoutdoorsproject291 #clearingland #landclearing #bobcate42 #bobcatequipment #southernillinoisland #southernillinois

Just posted a video to my CZcams channel of my 1 ton excavator paired up with a TMK150 tree sheer. Crazy how well it worked for clearing trees!

What kind of trees weee those you were removing. Wondering how it’ll do on some different hardwoods. Locust is one of mine. But they’re Honey Locust and not Black Locust.

I have pulled honey locust with my e42 but they do take some time. They are tough suckers to bust the roots and get them out, but it can be done!

Yes you sure can. Thumb just makes it easier to pick stuff up.
