Best team they had to beat was Hamburg?? So how you explain them beating Real Madrid in the 81 final and Roma in the 84 final in Roma's own stadium?       fight me like a man Liverpool has more Universities than any other city in the U.K. outside of London and also has the most Grade II listed buildings outside of London. Home to the biggest Cathedral in the U.K. and fourth largest in Europe, the docks, the Albert Dock, the Three Graces, the Cavern Club, Mathew Street, Museums coming out of your arse, art galleries...Liverpool by far is the better place to visit for tourists 😁

      Manchester 5.
      Birmingham, Glasgow, Edingburgh all have 6. So your wrong on that. But as a neutral i've always preferred Liverpool over Manchester. Not sure why but there seems to be a buzz there that you don't find in Manchester.

      Gaz Universities are hardly tourist attractions though anyway really are they? We have the liver buildings, St. George’s hall, the Albert Dock, 2 cathedrals, some GREAT museums.. to name a few 🤷‍♀️ Liverpool is a MUCH more historic city to Manchester and that’s fact. Not that we have to compare them anyway.. they’re 2 great cities. It was just a bit of banter haha!

    As far as best managers go it's Bill Shankly first. He achieved something that was truly amazing, took Liverpool from the second division and made them into champions of England and left the club dominating for years to come. He made Bob Paisley the manager he was and created the Boot Room, Liverpool wouldn't be where they are now without him. He's then followed by Fergie, Matt and Bob.

    I have to completely agree with Gary's take on the Manchester music scene in the late 80s/early 90s as a collective. Yeah, the Pool had the Beatles but never is a specific 'Liverpool Scene' ever sprouted up. So defo Manchester on that one.

    Fergie couldn’t dominate in Europe because the foreign teams had more technical players. In England his teams were so fit and athletic that they’d power through everyone. Couldn’t do that in Europe

      What many people forget is that Sir Matt had a very young team that would have most likely dominated Europe but sadly that wasn't to be, starting from scratch 10 years later he lifted the European Cup, the first English team to do so, Sir Matt paved the way for English clubs into Europe and that was even done against the Football League's wishes at the time.

It had an actual music scene Liverpool never really had a scene just one great band (obviously when I see great band I mean like literally one of the best ever) but still would say Manchester for music.

    I lived in Scotland and everyone up here knew of The Hacienda. Simply the most famous night club Britain's ever known and the most famous dance club in the world next to Studio 54 !!!

It's renowned because of one thing.....The Beatles! So it's known by association, unlike The Hacienda which is known on it's own merits as a club!!
