Velvet Duchess is my go to perfect red. It's darker tone down version of velvet ribbon. Between Duchess and Cinnabar for cool and warm tone red, I don't really need any other red. But I do need Velvet Jazz . I want to get ritual de fille lipsticks, but I recently developed an allergic reaction to the lavender in their products. I hope they decide to re formulate without it. Til then, I need to find blood colored lips from other brands.
We have the same skin tone so this is super helpful for me. Ravenous looks so stunning on you that it’s inspired me to buy this colour. Fiyaproof is already in my lipstick collection and is one of my most cherished reds. 😍

About 10 years ago, Nars had a beautiful strawberry red matte lipstick named Moscow. It was my absolute favorite red, then it was discontinued at some point. I've been looking for a new favorite since. Love these colors you are wearing!

I always have to look up the name: powder kiss velvet blur slim stick 🤦but, my favorite red is actually the make up forever artist color pencil in universal earth. I know you love that formula too!
My all-time favourite red lipstick is the Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01 Always Red. Going to have to pick up Mac's Marrakesh though, what a stunner!!! 💄👌😍

Such a great collection! When I wanted to buy my daughter 2 classic lipsticks, one was MAC Ruby Woo. My current easy to wear red is E for Effortless in MAC’s discontinued Love Me Lipstick formula. It’s not matte, it’s emollient and glossy, and it’s not a mess coming off when you eat and drink. It transfers, and comes off but not in an ugly way, making freshening it up easy. It’s closer to a brick red, but less orange than Marrakech. In the drugstore price point, I love the Trust Me lippie from Colourpop, Solo and Snow White from the lux lips. From Revlon I love the classic colors they’ve offered forever, and Love That Red, Certainly Red, and Fire and Ice are all classics. Besame Cosmetics Red Velvet is a classic matte, and is the lipstick Peggy wore in the Agent Carter series.

I have many shades). Also on my more softer makeup look days, I reach for Exa’s red lip oil. Another red that held my heart in a vice was Bite Beauty’s red velvet lip crayon- RIP to my perfect holiday red ❤️🔥

Gosh I love red lipstick. I used to wear it everyday but I never quite figured out my ideal eye makeup to go with it which brings me to my next point - you touched on this in your orange lipstick but I noticed you have a half lash on in this video too. Do you think it balances out a lipstick look? Sometimes I felt like a bold lipstick requires a cleaner looking lash. This is probably a detail no on else notices hahaha but I do feel like a red lip requires a certain look for the rest of the face! Not sure Im looking for advice or what but I'm curious what your thought process might be!
That’s exactly right!! With a bold red, I generally prefer the “clean” eye look but it doesn’t feel complete until I do a wispy half lash. I think that might be a personal preference or… I just find it balances my features this way. I have fuller lips so with a red lipstick on, they kind of take up more space on my face lol. So adding the half lash adds more contrast and makes the eyes look bigger, which then balances my face. If you have similar features in that way, you may find a half lash will also help the look get elevated to that next level!
I'm going to assume you may know Lisa E. is discontinuing Velvet Morning, and it's now 10% off, among other shades; but if not, grab your back-up fast! One of my faves is Bite's Chai, which is a muted spiced red on me. Having tried several formulas of Gwen's Original Recipe, I like the matte best; Bobbi Brown's Crushed colors in Babe; & Smashbox Legendary. One old fave was Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds lipstick in Ruby, if that was the shade name. Wish they still made those.
I found out recently about Morning… as well as Decade 😭 Here’s hoping she brings them back some day. So many discontinued shades from so many brands. I get it but also 🤬

Duchess is divine! My mom has it and I love borrowing it. That sucks about the lavender because it’s in so much of their stuff!
