      It's a shame they don't. No one country should be able to lay claim to any of the oceans. They, and their inhabitants, belong to the world. We should do good by them. What did whales ever do to us, other than provide years of fascination and entertainment. Most countries and cultures are past NEEDING whale meat or oil. It's not acceptable to mercilessly kill these creatures under the phony guise of "scientific research". It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out Japan's motives for it. They don't have good in their heart towards whales.

    Migaloo is awesome! Truly...he inspires awe. I thought white whales were just in books, but it seems they are real. That must have been amazing, to be so close to such a legendary animal. He's breathtaking! Thanks for sharing him with us!

      There's also a white blue whale in the Eastern Pacific and several white sperm whales (which was what Moby was) worldwide.

      @@rickenman9844 Rick luv do some investigating on whose boats are out still killing whales in ships labeled research when they just sell them for parts to Ancient medical stores.(or whatever their called) but the Japanese do still eat an use them as does some parts of China. So investigate why do u think Greenpeace is still a thing??? Cuz assholes still illegally murder whales.

    I would have been so happy that he or she graced me with its pressence. It was obviously as curious about your boat as we all are of it. He came by an said "Hi!" He was gentle to, he could have easily knocked the boat over with a wave, but he came up took a look an went back under without so much as a wave.

      +Chris Jones Hey, thanks for the comment. Yes, I am aware that Moby Dick was a sperm whale and that the one in this video is a humpback whale.
      I was just quoting the famous novel to point out what the two whales have in common: being white. And that this humpback whale looked a lot like the description in the quoted passage: "like a snow hill."
