Yeah the buns were for PB&J, the salmon is just to eat like an entree. But honestly, to each their own really.
obsidianorchids MRE’s always provide peanut butter and/or jelly as a spread for some base in the pack, usually crackers but in this case buns (bread). Afaik, MRE’s never provide any spreads by itself. Of course you can eat the MRE any which way you want, but that doesn’t change how the meal was intentionally designed.
Why would the package say hamburger bun? They also included a hot sauce, so.....

Trust me. I’m ex-Canadian army and nobody ever wants the salmon pack 😂. If someone ever mentioned that they enjoyed the salmon, they were cursed to only eat everyone else’s salmon because everyone disliked it 😂.

I enjoy the MRE videos. My son gets a $25 box of snacks all from different countries in the mail every month. The last one he got was from Greece it is very interesting trying all those different snacks. You should do a video of trying all the snacks from around the world

The Canadian IMP has the heating packs issued separately. However in field operations sometimes the cooks will prep everything, by opening a couple hundred and heating them on large buffet style mess kit.

You have to hold the heater element inside the heater bag above the fill line to get the correct amount of water in an MRE heater

i think they still pack the heaters with them. they arent too big, can bring like 5 or 6 of them with you in your pack.

Hey brother I watch mre reviewers and one guy adds salt to older flameless ration heaters and it activates really well and quickly. This should help you in the future thanks for sharing
I looked at the Canadian MRE's online and would like you to try Poutine.
Taras, try adding a bit of salt to the water for the heater, it will make the reaction much faster
