I love seeing when people take an ordinary not so new vehicle and turn it into something so awesome! I wish I had the ingenuity and creativeness to do something like this. Thanks for sharing
@@JK-ry7id I'm not sure about that. One doesn't have to be rich to take care of things. Sometimes, people save money to make things happen. Or, we fix things up over years. I've seen someone buy a suburban for like $3200, stock, and the timeline to bring it up to part was about 3-ish years. It was a really neat video. The suburban looked niiiice after. ^_^
Smart idea with the laser. Well done. We had several Safari Vans when our kids were growing up. None were AWD but those were great vans. I used to hunt out of mine, just by taking out the seats and laying in my sleeping and hunting gear. That one looks new
Best total astro van build on CZcams, you got it right,it's clean to the point and almost what could of or should of been available from gm.nice clean build
My 1998 Astro 2wd got burned in a house fire this year. I decided to fix it 3 weeks ago. It's back on the road already and I have everything but the AC working. I'm getting inspired to do something like the awning and swivel seat and use it as a camper. Turned 297k this week and 21 mpg still. Down from 22-23 when just 100k on it. Changed 5 qts of the transmission fluid today.still just some paint work to finish the fire restoration. Don't think these can be killed
Also check out the suction mounting cups this guy used to attach awning poles directly to the van if you are just at a location where you want to move the van while the awning is out. Obviously not for driving down the road but if you want to move the van quickly to adjust for the sun moving. czcams.com/video/Ys2m5bwP5D4/video.html
In order to maintain the ability for the front seat to still slide forward and backwards you want to swap the mounting seat base with one from an astro with bucket rear seats. That design has a lower profile base and gives you the headroom needed to allow the seat to still slide. You can see the seats being removed from the video below and if you look closely the base has a smaller gap. You can prob find one at a junk yard. czcams.com/video/kZ0_4edaT1k/video.html
No seat swivel is crash rated, your seat belt does all the work in an accident anyway. I have the same swivel and I rode at least a good 200 miles in it down the interstate and off road, I'm 310 pounds and it was rock solid the whole time. Does steal some head room unless you do like this guy and remove the sliders
I know, how are these things even legal to be on the road?? #worstvehicleevermade. GM has always been good at making attractive, dangerous junk. Nevertheless, I still love mine and so far haven't had any life-threatening encounters. Knock on wood! Thanks for watching!

I had a Safari van back in the day. Best van I ever owned.
Woah. That is one nice van!!! I see so many poorly taken care of vehicles, seeing one that's in amazing condition is a breath of fresh air.
cause he’s rich!

Very neat. Astro/Safari are such good looking vans.

Cool rig :-D but I think you'd be happier with one of our swivels!!
Awesome a lot of help. Gonna purchase one soon.
Luv this thing
You have exquisite taste, my friend.
@@ericschulte1853 it's awesome. I live in a minivan
Lovely van. Do you by any chance have the paint code? I love that shade of red.
Any chance you’ll put a link to the exact swivel chair attachment you got from Northern tools?
Nice!!!
I love your van,you give me some ideas for my 2004 Astro van.
Let’s talk about curtains
What about them my friend?
never thought id be complementing another man on his curtains 🤣🤣🤦♂
Haha yeah I never pictured myself proudly showcasing curtains either. Life is funny that way.

Great tip!
What year is this one ?
Do you have a link for the curtain
Curtains were home made!
Get out and look and turn ur flashers on ALWAYS...😁😁
Great advice, but what if something creeps in behind you as you are hopping back into the van? Too stressful to think about! Thanks for watching!
*WHAT IS THE INERTIA RATING FOR THAT SWIVEL? HOW MUCH FORCE/POUNDS CAN BE PUT TO IT BEFORE IT BREAKS?*

Love your van … where did you get the seat swivel ?
Northern Tool supply. I believe its listed in their catalog as a "forklift" seat swivel.
Theese Vans are so unsafe you are dead if you crash it head on
