I just bought my 4th Astro, but 1st AWD Astro, recently. I should do a lift kit-looks trick. On some of the rockhound roads I do, it would allow me to clear some points rocks.
I stay in Southern California I also have a GMC Safari van year 2002 wheel drive with a lift kit that I bought from Journey off road I think Mike is a great human being 👍 any questions you have please ask I've done trial and error also with my GMC Safari
@@AngryOverland that completely depends on how you feel about your skill level as far as turning a ranch basically you would need to lift vehicle one side at a time and do one side of the time but it's definitely doable Plug & Play
Love it man I saw a Tacoma with that fridge the guy said if you have something that’s frozen you can put it in the bottom of the fridge then put a small piece of cardboard over it he says it will stay frozen
Awsome project ! Although i think you should keep it maybe the next project will be as usefull as this one! Just starting my own with a astro 2002 and thinking of using some ideas you shared...thanks
Super clean, I just started on my 2002 chevy astro, goin for a weekend warrior camping/ fishing van here in Los Angeles, hope to see ya around to say what's up. Gonna go check out your other videos!
Just a fyi the astro/safari is the same drivetrain as the blazer. So you could get the transfer case from a blazer & then you would have a part time & low range
You're gonna need a house one day, just too much stuff which is understandable with all the things you do. Good luck and Great Job with your van.I also have an AWD only the Chevy Astro 2000.
This is awesome. I am building out a 2000 Safari for full time living this summer (if I can leave the house lol) and yours is my template. I have other ideas for inside config, but the roof rack, ladder and bumper setups are amazing. When you put the ski box on does the fan still open far enough? Do you have to choose between the steel box with the gas tanks and the ski box or do both fit up there at once? I'm asking b/c I'm mostly using this to chase snow, so my snowboards will be with me year round.
when the box goes on its only for winter so I can only pop the fan a little. or not at all. I would go with a skinny box and shift it to the side. fan is crucial but not in the winter. heaters are key for winter camping. I've herd the Little buddy is good if you don't mind buying gas a lot.
So it appears this further tech assisted with rear axle and wheel centering and earlier rubbing? And you ended up not cutting into the front portion of the rear wheel well? Thanks!
What makes it "not practical"? Would you have done anything different? I'm in the middle of ordering parts for my build. It will be a daily work van and weekend play toy so any advice would be great. Thanks!
practical meaning I did some things that most people don't need to do. EX. you don't need that much power, solar, battery. You can be fine with like half what I got.
Who needs a $150k Sprinter to enjoy the outdoors? Awesome build!

How much are you looking to get for the van?
Can you tell me where I can get the bumper, the front bumper? Please!!!

I am getting my 4" JOR lift soon! What rim size did you find to be the best fit?
What is your model tail lights? I search for a long time for my safari I gen, but I can't find it. If there are already several hundred $$
