It's too risky. Royals can take newspapers to court (although Charles can't now that he's King) because they are corporations, but taking a member of the public to court would look like punching down - it's an unequal balance of power scenario. If they won, there are some who would accuse the court of an establishment fix; if they lost it could actually justify what Scobie has written.
Actually, all 3 (Scooby Doo, H & M) should be taken to court for deformation of character by everyone in the Royal Family who's name appeared in the book.

The Netherlands was picked for the leak because the least number of copies of the book would have to be destroyed. The numbers in French and Spanish were too large.

The info that was released in the Dutch copy of the book was most probably done on purpose. This is because comparing the Dutch translation with the original English version shows that it could not have been in error. The main person that Omit Scabies is in contact with is Marcus Anderson (Soho House Pimp master), and as we have seen Marcus was in Canada with the dopy duo......why?

Going after Catherine, one of the most universally liked people in the world, is going to be an epic error.
The conversation regarding their future child’s skin tone happened while they were engaged - before she asked “the racist” family member to walk her down the isle.
This has to f-ing stop. Before someone in the royal family gets hurt.
Charles offered to walk her down the aisle; she didn't ask. In fact, Harry, said in a BBC One documentary that his father’s gesture of offering Meghan to escort to the aisle at their wedding touched him very much.
I imagine it was a general question like “I wonder who the children will take after?” and Meghan uses this general comment to get her Opera payday by giving the sound clip “ conversations about our sons skin tone were discussed”. The look of panic on her face when Harry revealed the conversation happened when they started dating, NOT while Meghan was pregnant was a blink and you miss it moment. I’m sure it is taking a lot of restraint for Charles not to comment and set the record straight, but his advisers should be wise enough to let common sense prevail and eventually this stale conversation loses steam. In the US there isn’t a general interest for either of them, their popularity withers and Meghan’s back to doing Hallmark movies while Harry does “public speaking”. Or they end up like Edward and Wallis, mooching off rich friends.

That law isn't going to get anywhere. It's just a Private Members Bill, poorly written by one MP and it's been stuck on its 1st reading for almost a year. To get anywhere it needs to go through another 11 stages. These Private Members Bills can get through a few stages but rarely get all the way to the end and into law. I really wouldn't pin any hopes on this one.

@@wandabailey7870 I honestly don't think it's going anywhere. It's just a few lines written by the MP for York who was actually turning her guns on Andrew, not Harry. However, it hands too much power to the monarch and Parliament will never let that happen - nor should it. Late last year another MP said he was thinking of presenting his own Private Members Bill, and what that should tell us is that he didn't think the first one was up to much either. If it was there'd be no need for another. However, as far as I'm aware he didn't do it - I expect Parliament has far more pressing issues to address.
My own view is that it might be safer to let Harry keep his title. I formed this view after stumbling upon an article about the abdication of Edward VIII. Apparently one of the first acts the new King George VI undertook - in tandem with Parliament - was to make his brother the Duke of Windsor. This wasn't done out of brotherly love or as a consolation prize. It was to prevent Edward from ever standing for election or getting into the House of Lords. In effect it disabled him politically, which was probably wise given his Nazi sympathies.
Harry is dim, gullible, naive and not so much one loose cannon as an entire artillary of loose cannons. He'd never be elected but I could quite easily see him being flattered by the attention of a political movement and becoming its useful idiot. He's shown some political colours but he's not yet climbed up on a soapbox, and that's because he knows he can't. With a title Parliament has at least some control over what he can say and do, and that may be why there are no serious attempts to remove it.
The book is old news, still milking the racism thing almost four years later 🙄🙄🙄 and talking shyte about all the elderly members of the RF, utter bullies they are.

Isn't Scobie calling Harry into question over this racism malarkey? In his interview with Tom Bradby, Harry said that neither he nor his wife had said that his family was racist - the press did that. So either Scobie is dropping Harry in it and making him look like an idiot for blaming the press, or Scobie is choosing not to hear what Harry said.

In the Oprah interview Harry said one thing, Meg said another, and we cannot forget her narrative was that Archie was not a prince upon birth because of these 'concerns', when in reality the fact is that no matter what Archie or Lilli would look like they'd not be a born prince or princess because Charles was not the monarch at the time of their births - not this slander Megs was pushing.
Then Harry goes on that Braby interview and says they never said there was a racist, never said the RF are racists, and they aren't - he says there might be 'unconcious bias'
And now - there's not one, but two 'royal racists' and yet only Charles is named!

Yes, they haven’t had an official response since “recollections may vary”. Harry was so desperate for a response in order to extend the publicity cycle for Spare, he dragged George, Charlotte and Louis into one of his promotional interviews. Wisely, the Palace didn’t respond. When Harry offered to help and advise W&K so that Charlotte or Louis wouldn’t end up feeling like Harry, it must have been the nail in the coffin for Kate when Dirty Harry used her children to goad a response.
There will never be a formal rebuttal by the Palace but, after a decent interval has passed, expect a carefully calculated comeuppance for H & M.

I know most people don’t know this , but Princess Diana had the same kind of mouth piece type relationship when she was working the press to become the most famous woman alive. In her younger years it was James Whitaker( the jolly red tomato), and then it was Richard Kay. Richard even talked to Diana the night she died in the car crash.
She also gave tapes to Andrew Morton to write Diana, Her True Story, and denied being the source for that story. ( Later revealed by Andrew after her death.)

This information is known. We accepted Diana's media shenanigans because she genuinely stepped up to the plate for charitable causes and it seemed a balanced tradeoff. She also held HMTQ in the highest regard and never trashed "the monarchy." Truly, Diana was a beautiful mess and we loved her.

You can actually see in the Crown how she kept calling the hotline about whether the monarchy should continue, and voting no. She didn’t attack the Queen directly, but she attacked her life’s work.
MM was never popular enough to ever really do the monarchy harm, but Diana certainly was. She definitely had good qualities, but I also think we should remember her the way she actually was, and that was NOT Pro Monarchy.

Harry says he will never reveal the name. He goes on to say another time that the conversation happened BEFORE marriage and while he was dating Markle. Further, he said rather forcefully that his grandfather told him to have fun with Markle but not marry. The major concerns were she was older, divorced, an American, and an actress and they felt this wasn't what he needed in a wife. There isn't a person I have ever met no matter their nationality or skin color that hasn't asked the question - especially at baby showers "what features do you think the baby will have" or "I hope he or she has my eyes or nose and not the others". Remember in Oprah interview when asked the question by Oprah a second time Markle didn't respond, yes - she said "potentially". In truth circles that meant she was no exact in her accusation or truthful but creating an illusion to incite the audience. Now, Harry says or is alleged to have said he wanted a way back to his father and brother yet his wife releases the alleged name and information to her friend to brief Scoby. All isn't right in that household or she is desperately trying to keep him with her and not go back to his family to control him. That is abuse.

Whether as Harry said this conversation was before marriage and before conception, regardless I would do everything to keep my child's name out of the media. I am not a therapist, so this is only my humble take: having been unfortunate enough to encounter some malignant narcissists in my life, this "book" for me is an epitome of how a cornered, raging narcissist behaves. There is no low they won't go taking revenge for their perceived or real slights, they are pure evil, and now it is out for all the world to see. And I'm talking about Meghan here in the first place, as I suspect its her making with her pal Scobie. Not defending Harry, but I think at this point he really did not need this, he might have even not approved or knew about it, certain insider infos Meghan used may have been pillow talk from infatuated, gullible Harry years back.

I believe Harry and Meghan are riven with unresolved anger that she wasn't given the adulation they both unquestioningly expected. She garnered increasing criticism from press, public, William & Catherine and even HM. That was entirely her fault. We allow the huge privileges of our RF in return for quiet public service, quiet diplomacy and many other contributions to society such as The Princes Trust. She showed herself to be more interested in celebrity seeking, attempting to monetise her position of already staggering privilege, seeking the limelight and twisting the truth to suit her narrative. Harry was the only one who was besotted with his "amazing wife" and unable to see what others saw. She seems to have exacerbated and exploited every single historic petty grievance this man has harboured. Factitious Disorder? Narcissistic PD? Harry is a fool and an unpleasant one at that.
"Constitutional inability" simply refers to one's "make up" or inherent nature. If one had a "weak constitution," for example, it refers to their inherent capacity. It's a common phrase in British English.

If there was a infectious illness going around and a person did not catch it people might say they have a strong constitution.

Constitution refers to a framework or make up. e.g. A political framework as in your American Constitution or a moral, ethical or bodily framework. It therefore refers to character in this context.

Lady C said the Marcus Anderson was the go between. He acted as the intermediary for this book. The Dutch version was not an error. They meant it to come out in that country.

I don't think this is Omid's revenge. Employees of the Royal Family are required to sign NDAs upon employment, and have done it for years. I am sure she had him sign one too since she is such a control freak. I think this is revenge number 2 for her and she allowed Omid to publish it under his name to distance herself from it. The book contents sound like her with Omid's name on it, because there is no way with a NDA legally he could have published this info without hers, or their consent. I have no doubt their legal team required approval after the final edit. The question is how they are going to divide the book royalties since it look like Omid and his boss are involved in writing the book. It's recycled fake spilled tea, and the world is so over it.
