How to Do the Clamshell Exercise | Use Your Glutes Not Hip Flexors

  • Let’s talk about a hip flexor that likes to jump in when you should be working your glutes. Clams are one of the most common exercises to work the glutes and deep hip external rotators. But what if you’re not actually working those muscles when you do clams? Well, you’re wasting your time now, aren’t you? And, possibly reinforcing the issues you’re trying to fix by doing clams in the first place. ⁣

This is why I love being picky about exercise. It matters! ⁣

So, did you try it? ⁣🤔

Did you get sartorius or TFL when you should have been getting glute max?? ⁣

If your having trouble getting your glutes to fire properly you may want to skip this for now and come back to it when your glutes are firing better.
