Do people still not realise this story isn't actually true? Joker is a master manipulator, he was pulling one of the oldest tricks in the book to perfection and Harley bought every word of it.
Not even he knows how he ended up being the joker, the rest of the joke only brings you to the important thing, the punchline, the rest doesnât really matter
They even say in the show this was one of ivy's story
Some people believe that he used to be a criminal trying to make money but then one day he fell into toxic waste And became the clown Prince of crime
i thought so
@@net343 hey you profile picture is my Home Screen!
What's disturbing is that Joker might not think he's lying.
He said it himself: "Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another. If I'm going to have a past, *I prefer it to be multiple-choice."*
Yep, heâs completely insane.
What a gamer
@@user-cx9un9fs7q Either that or he actually comes from multiple realities simultaneously... you know, the âsupersaneâ theory.
@@cezarcatalin1406 definitely
As someone who has experienced emotional trauma, and I havenât even had it as worse as a lot of people out there, I can confirm this. A lot of times you donât want to directly seek out the memory, yet you so desperately want to get it out of you. At the same time also, you donât want to take away the intricate coping mechanisms you have developed over the years, which just so happened to be extremely dysfunctional. Thing is though, the reason why youâre scared to change from this, is because your nervous system might have an inkling of an idea that itâs dysfunctional, but since it knows nothing else, itâs simply not permitting you to just open up and let all that go and find other coping mechanisms besides insanity.
People forget that the Joker doesnât even know his own childhood. Itâs such a blur to him because his madness is beyond repair. Even in this show when he does go sane, the Joker is still in there and the memories he has arenât real.
Joker has done this over and over again in order to keep people in line. Heâs tried this on Batman too, and the fact that he canât make Batman crack is why heâs obsessed with him.
The joker is the king of lying and manipulation. Harley was one of the most tragic results of that.
I dunno, he's oddly wholesome with his wife and stepkids later on in the series. Still the Joker, but the refreshing part is he breaks free of the tired old archetype the comics, movies and other cartoons have established about him. Yes, we know he's crazy. Yes, we know he's inane and unpredictable and murderous and yadda yadda yadda... what sets this series apart for me is certain parts are super slice of life, mixed with dark comedy and action. For the first season yeah he's totally the regular Joker doing regular Joker things, but even he says he's gotten tired of it and ends up breaking free of the mould.
@@ershnuff difference with his current family is that he met them after he became sane. Iâm pretty sure he kept his memories from being an average dude, and he could recognize he was genuinely happy with them, and actually has a bond. But thatâs cos he made those bonds while normal. If he had met them as the Joker, he probably wouldâve just ignored them or killed them.
The joker never was honest about his past
@@ershnuff That's not it; Joker has always wanted a stable domestic life. Harley Quinn found that out but because she was mentally broken and now Harley Quinn. They could no longer have that future together. It is the one thing they both wanted but because of the clown makeup, they can never have it.
But in the comics, Jason Todd correctly deduced that Joker isn't really insane. He just uses insanity as a way to escape the death penalty.
"He took the one thing I love, and then he beat the shit out of me" that last partđđ
Yeah, That was epic.

To this day... We actually don't know what Joker's origin story is. Not in the comics not in the movies not in the cartoons either. Every time he "revealed" it always it turned out to be lies.
His origin was he was the original Red Hood that fell into the chemicals after a fight with batman. This has been his most consistent origin and the killing joke would solidify it only changing it to portray the joker as a victim rather than the instigator of his own insanity.

I think we just need to accept that we will never know Jokerâs true origin story because it is meant to be ambiguous. He is a representation of all of us. All it takes is a final push to go mad. No matter what it is.
Dude, you start off right and then nose dive. A representation of all of us? One final push? Thatâs what he would say. Heâs not right and heâs not written to be right. People go through traumatic events all the time and come out sane. The joker isnât representative of humanity. The point of one of his most famous appearances is that heâs abnormal and heâs wrong to think he isnât. Saying heâs like all of us is just⊠edgy for the sake of being edgy.
@@LadonMach exactly, that's the whole point of the killing joke, Jim Gordon didn't snap. He didn't go mad. He stayed sane
The thing is, we already know Joker was originally with alias of Red Hood.
And he had a wife which died from a shooting and during a robbery attempt on a plant, he fell into acid and burned his face.. His sanity was gone at that time. It's why his face is bleached.
@@yeboxxxchannel2505 he may have been redhood, it's not entirely confirmed. There was many redhoods. We don't know if his wife died or if he really even had a wife. He could had just blenched his skin. I don't think it's that hard to disfigure yourself like that
But isn't it confirmed that he fell down in some chemicals? I mean he threw harley in so that she can become kind of a joker. Also the Joaquin Phoenix movie and batman 89 had origin stories even if they were part of another universe

This definitely happened. Only he wasnât wealthy.
In fact Iâd wager that his grudge with the wealthy was from the fact that his parents were probably working all the time.
Then his dad went insane from it all going economically downhill, got drunk with a friend who came over to commiserate, then they had drunk friend sex and the the rest was as he said minus the wealth.
The entire point of the story is a lie. He is playing Harley. He stole [redacted]'s story and used it to trick Harley. It isn't real. It never happened. It very well could have in some origin, but Joker has no origin. He is the Joker, and that's it.

And Harley used to be an ally to Batman.
Don't forget Harvey Deny/Two Face, oh and of course Jason Todd, the second Robin.
Actually, Harley Quinn wasn't really an ally of Batman, just another Psychiatrist working at Arkham Asylum. She never really was working closely with Batman.
The funny thing is Jokerâs backstory doesnât matter. Heâs not a person, heâs a character that heâll play until the day he dies. The mistake HarleyâŠahem, Dr. Quinzell makes is that she believes in the person thatâs not there. Joker is just that, a joke, and trying to read more into him than that is the trap he sets. The only reason he changes later is that he gets to live as a person again and learns to be a three-dimensional character, the Joker, a husband and father.
Your explanation has to be the most perfect explanation I have read in a very long time. Thank you
So well said!
Only because his 7-14 year comic cannon relationship with Halrey Quinn give him the tools to be able to do so. Harley Quinn changed Joker; she made him related to people again on some level. Why do you think Joker cares about his new flame Punchline ? Because Harely Quinn gave him the tools to do so. Harley Quinn made Joker feel emotions again and he love-hated her for it.
Heâs said himself Heâs an idea
Awwwww, the bit where he holds harleens hand!
You know you really have to appreciate how smart Joker really is and how he is a formidable enemy for Batman cause Batman always has plans to beat criminals but Joker is just that unpredictable. Also the fact that he swayed Harley, someone who has a high degree in psychology with a convincing lie
"If ik going to have a backstory i'd like it to be multiple choice"~Joker
Every Joker backstory is a tragedy, but he makes it a comedy.
Not a single word that came out of his mouth was real.
Liar. Every word he spoke was real. They are all in the dictionary.
Much rather prefer this backstory than the one in âMad Loveâ episode in Batman Animated. There, Harley was absolutely subservient to Jokerâs mind games but here Harley is still bought into it but has the right amount of sass and backbone so she isnât naive.
Ikr? Sheâs was a psychologist, she wouldâve worked with manipulative people and psychopaths before, sheâd probably know their games better

The fact that Mr.Joker not only manipulated but even drove insane the psychiatrist who came to cure him, is just too great too see.
This proves why he is so worthy of being the perfect enemy for Batman
When you realise this is actually Ivy's past :(
Joker's origin story is that his parents were gunned down in an alley when they were all walking home from a theater play.
And his moms name is martha
"you see Batman my father was a gamer so he was naturally violent"
"Growing up he would punch holes in the walls when he lost a game, which lead to an infestation of ferrets."
I actually felt bad for the guy until later in the episode when it turned out he made it up by plagiarizing from Poison Ivy.
Ikr? Then itâs like âpoor poison ivy :( horrible jokerâ
Ivy was the one who was more grateful to Harley in reality also
Does anyone remember how batman accidentally created the joker, he used to be a thief and then fell into acid while fighting batman
I wish Harley had just then said "that's bullshit."
"I can fix him đ„ș" đ
so many girls have said that.
Fun fact:
Even the Joker doesn't know his backstory is. Even the famous "Killing Joke" story (the storie with Jack Napier, the failed comidien and the fall into the acid-pitt) is only the Version, that is the most dominant in his head.
I always had a feeling joker has D.I.D or there's 3 seperate jokers, that could explain the 3 seperate backstories.
How is that a fun fact? That's literally common knowledge for anyone that knows Batman.
The way he added the then he beat the sh*t out of me.
Son, we're not fond of you!
2:11 I donât why itâs so freaking funny when suddenly says *than he beat the sh*t out of me* I canât đđđđ
He said the line. Kind of changed it a bit. But the main part of the line has been said.
And that's the reason why joker likes batman. Most people like harley, i mean dr. Quinzel read into the situation too much, but in the end trying to read into the joke too much just makes it boring, Batman on the other hand doesn't read into the joker he knows everything joker does is a "joke", and in the end batman has to become the punchline, literally, to stop the joke.
"After all the maid was busy"đčđčđčwtf
when Ivy told Harley the truth about this story is fake and how Joker twisted it up was so hilarious. Ivy wanted Harley so bad đ
You know what a headcannon I have with another character may fit the joker as well His history got lost amongst his backstory a long time ago
The fact people donât realize this is an homage to btas in which he makes up fake origins for himself to manipulate people
His dad is more terrifying than him
What gets me is that this is really a stealth backstory from Ivy, it lines up with earlier scenes in the series where they dove into her brain and saw her abusive dad.
You wanna know how I got these emotional scars? So heâs the Joker we know this. We also know its a play on the âYou wanna know how I got these scars?â question Heath Ledgerâs Joker asks throughout The Dark Knight. So for him to reference this line well⊠wouldnât he have had to see this movie?

That's why joker always hurt someone because it makes him happy just like his father happy hit his son

Batman asked someone about Joker's back story, and the response I think , is which one. There is suppose to be three.
