    I carry a Bodyguard in my Rotation . It’s a well made, safe gun and it feels great in my hand! Definitely a keeper!

    What I LOVE is the DAO on this gun . You have the hammer DOWN on a pocket pistol with a fairly heavy trigger. Makes for a very safe pocket carry instead of hair SA Glock like trigger on most if not all other pocket pistols

    I had one and sold it. Nice in its day and still solid imo, but it would greatly benefit from a thorough update. Keep the DA trigger and/or make it da/sa (that would be better for me) and keep the manual safety. Increase capacity to equal the LCP Max and you would have a much better competitor.

    I just got a ruger LCP and I’ve had a Glock 42. I have Sig V-crowns in both handguns and as far as I’ve seen in gel test they preform as good as a .380 hollow point can. Great penetration and expansion. When I go for a walk in the woods tho here in Texas if I don’t carry my 9mm and I have my .380 I have 95gr FMJ just incase I run into something with a thicker hide. For those who say a .380 won’t do the job I’ve shot a 90-100lb wild hog from about 6 feet and it dropped it one shot.

    I put a HOGUE HANDALL Beavertail GRIP SLEEVE #18500 amazon $15 on my S&W Bodyguard and it works.It's such a big improvement. It tames the little snapper down big time. Im 75 years old and don't need any more PAIN.

  • @achillesiq491
    @achillesiq491 Před 4 měsíci +3

    I have a metal belt clip installed on the right side, so no need for inside belt holster. It's really light that my running shorts stay up. Also, fyi if some didn't know it's not a striker fire, but a hammer fire pistol (can see it when you pull the trigger).

    I was going to replace the Bodyguard with a LCP Max. Bought the LCP and went to apply Talon Grips to it. While massaging the grip around under heat, the pin that holds the mainspring popped out of its little roost and shot across the room. I found it and put it all back together, but never trusted the gun after that. It was, IMO, too cheap feeling and flimsy, especially compared to the Bodyguard. Sure, the trigger on the BG is a bear, but that's what practice is for. Give me reliable and well made any day. Now, S&W, how about an update on this venerable gun?

  • @JamesWilliams-he4lb
    @JamesWilliams-he4lb Před 4 měsíci

    It's a small and reliable pistol that I trust from time to time when the situation warrants. When I do carry it, it's because it's just about the lowest profile set up I can get away with in hot weather (IWB, clipdraw, safety on). It's a viable option for me in hot weather and relatively low risk areas where a compromise take place between what I CAN carry and what is absolutely the most comfortable. Never had a malfunction where just about every other micro compact save my revolvers have had their issues. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks there's still a place for the Bodyguard, even if it would be cool to see an upgraded version from S&W.

  • @mr.mr.3301
    @mr.mr.3301 Před 4 měsíci +2

    I trust that trigger way more than a lcpii. The lcpii is pretty much full cocked. The lcpii does not have a firing pin block either.

  • @cheeng1
    @cheeng1 Před 4 měsíci

    BG380 is my everyday ccw. It has a true & traditional double action trigger. It makes for an easy transition to revolvers, identical trigger.

  • @Quentyn73
    @Quentyn73 Před 4 měsíci

    I have this. Long heavy trigger pull which necessitates substantial training to be acceptably precise with it at 30ft. Ypu dont need some fancy holster. Cheap Alien gear works fine. It has a safety, so no need even for a holster. This veder holster is prohibitively ex0ensove imo.
    Capacity is low but still adequate for self defence. Can shoot P+ too. Mechanics are great. Feels a little snappy. Sights are not the best, totally dark, but its meant for close quarters where you wont have time to use them i wished they had the same for lefties.

    Another good video as always. I've had the M&P Bodyguard for a number of years and also a stainless LCP both of which I like and carry often.. If I had to pick one it would be the Bodyguard because it has better sights, the last round hold open, and I also feel it's easier to stage the trigger so I shoot it better.

But, I literally go the the range and shoot what's in the gun from my pocket. That's when I had the failure. Can't imagine if I was in a self defense situation

    I had a bodyguard for a while but ended up trading it in for the lcp max. Lcp max is a tad bit cheaper but has better compactly along with better sights. Just think it’s a better option, but the bodyguard is still a nice little pocket pistol. Keep up the good work big dog 👍
