I did this as a trial for my wedding this Friday. I am a nurse and am having a ceremony without a reception and have to do my own hair. I used the wand and your technique, it came out gorgeous!!!!!! Took me half hour and looked so elegant. Huge relief for that day that my hair will look beautiful and I can do it myself. Thank you ❤️

I’ve been married for ten years, so this isn’t for a wedding; however, I’m going to concert and I believe these curls would go wonderfully with my outfit. Does it matter what size the wand is? I have a 1/2” curling iron that I used as a wand but can’t seem to achieve that big of a swoop
A wand is perfect! It’s actually a little easier to achieve the waves with a wand because you don’t get any creases in the hair.
With the smaller barrel just don’t pin the bang area up to cool, this will help it be a little more moldable. And to get a bigger swoop maybe make your part a little deeper so you have more hair in the bang.

What is yhe barrel width on this?
I used to do a lot of hairstyles like this but its been a while and I forgot that you must hold the hair so it makes twists around the barrel and remembered when i was mostly done with my hair 🤦♀️ Hope this helps someone!
Should hair be next day hair or freshly washed to make these curls last the most?
Typically hair does hold a little better when it’s just a day dirty, however if the hair is too dirty that oil can weigh it down and prevent the curls from lasting.
