For me as a parent of an 11 year old travel ball player, travel ball is me loading my car Thursday afternoon, so i can leave work on Friday, pick up the entire family, drive 2 hours on either to hot or to cold weather watch my kid. Unload everything haul it to the room spendall day at the field Saturday, load the car back up Saturday night, get up at 5 a.m. Sunday eat crappy hotel food for breakfast, spend all day Sunday at the field, drive two hours home unload everything. Sometimes it really sucks! AND I WOULDNT CHANGE IT FOR THE WORLD! Watching my son play ball is one of the best things i could ever imagine doing!

Playing well for a solid travel team in my opinion is better then going to a showcase
New travel baseball is flooded with tons of teams and talent is spread thin.Many travel programs will take anyone to collect money.
Our travel team tries to play the best venues ,and the best competition we can.Alot of that is determined by the coaches, our seek out good games vs good teams .We travel 2 to 3 hours at 9u but we have a ton of venues in that area.Ripken,Diamond nation,Msi ,sports at the beach .we use league games as practice.

For the teams that have players from all over the country, how do u tryout for them since everyone is from different states? How do u practice as a team since ur scattered over the country. Do u practice as a team? How expensive r they usually? How do u know which ones r good? Is there an easy way to look up online the best?
OK, probably a stupid question as I never played baseball past little league. How important is the concept of teamwork in baseball compared to, say, hockey or football? Outside of situational hitting or defensive basics, it seems that players are somewhat more interchangeable (aside from individual skill sets) than in other sports,.

What is the median income for families with their kids in travel ball? I ask this because travel ball can be pricey with hotels and other expenses? Also what does it cost to play on your team if you make it and is it different each age group?
My family isnt rich or even wealthy we struggle paycheck to paycheck. Making trips is hard on all of us, but my soon loves his team, loves his teammates, and loves the game! You make it work

Varies really. Most sports have similar expenses if you "travel". Baseball is a little unique I think in that you can find teams that travel nationally and then the cost is quite ridiculous as you're adding airfare.
When are tryouts for a travel team or are they all different, do they occur around the same time?
They are all different. In our area they are usually July. Thanks for watching and commenting!
