      Thanks! I geuss I spend more time on my settings;) Nectar seems to do a good job if you have well recorded vocals, but for some non-ideal recordings Soothe and some "vintage" plugins, like PSPaudioware might be really helpful

    Great video! Don't underestimate your original vocal chain and plugins - well done. I have Nectar 4 advance and I'm struggling with 'Backer' and 'Voices' to find something good quality sounding. Both those modules seem to introduce noise and artifacts that I don't really want. I can tame them them with RX, but that's like going around in circles. The robotic, vocoder, distortion FXs are interesting, but similar to Izotope VocalSynth - so I wonder if 'Backer' is just the same code? I had higher expectations for the voices harmonies.

    Thx for the video. So Relay unmask kills Trackspacer. Is it possible to duck the delay and reverb to start only when the voice stopped?

    • @PoloTremolo
      @PoloTremolo  Před 9 měsíci

      Yes, unmasking works well! No, it is not possible, but you might try to use two instances of Nectar and set it up in your DAW, it is usually pretty simple thing to do with DAW stock compressor:)

    I don't get what the Relay plugin was at the end. What is it and why did he use it?

    • @PoloTremolo
      @PoloTremolo  Před 6 měsíci

      Hey, Relay is used for interplugin communication, so that iZotope plugin on one channel can affect the settings of another iZotope plugin on another channel, for instance having Relay on each channel you can change volume and panning in the Visual Mixer - This time I used Relay for this ducking effect. iZotope has really nice videos on their channel showing how it works. see here: czcams.com/video/sLnOV4uL82I/video.htmlsi=T3GZdzdBf1XU16AN

      Thank you for leaving the comment! Clodie vocals were not perfectly recorded, with a hint of harshness. The truth is I spent a few hours on perfecting the sound with other plug-ins, and only a few minutes with Nectar 4. But it is always great to hear you liked my mix:)))

    I see you are using both Ableton and Cubase, which do you prefer? I am asking because I am planning to switch to Cubase after 10 years of Ableton. You think I am making the right choice? Thanks

    • @PoloTremolo
      @PoloTremolo  Před 6 měsíci

      I am a long time Ableton Live user, also I mixed professionaly a lot tracks in this DAW but I admit that some other DAWs are a bit better suited for mixing - in Cubase Pro you're getting super high quality metering, can insert a plugin on all tracks at once, there VCA groups, better monitoring options etc. On the other hand I created so many Ableton Live effect racks with mid/side and L/R processing that it is hard to leave;))) Overall Cubase is much bigger and powerfull music production system, but more experimental staff this Max4Live environment is tempting. If you haven't seen my other video about reasons to switch to Cubase, I highly recommend. Also for mixing alone I would consider Studio One, see my Luca Pretolesi interview, he's Studio One user and with 6.5 they implemented Atmos very well. It seems like I will still use more than one DAW!!!!

      I still don't rely 100% on Assistant, but in most cases the EQ, and especialy Dyn EQ are really good, or at least a good starting point. Well, I used to do it all manually in the past, but maybe I am just becoming lazy;))?
