I have a 2010 Avalanche and I'm looking to replace the air intake soon myself. This helps a whole lot, because my engine is exactly identical to yours. Great work!
I had an airaid cold air intake on my 2007 Avalanche for about 10-11 months. I decided to test it against the airaid intake tube with the factory air box and a k&n filter. There was literally less than a second difference between the two from 0-60. So I left the airaid intake tube on with the factory air box and recently swapped the k&n air filter for an aem filter. I sold the airaid open shroud and cone filter. That metal tube on yours is just going to absorb heat as well. Essentially you have a hot air intake.
Thank you for posting and making this video. I got my intake in yesterday and was like where in the hell is the directions smh. Have a blessed day!

Nice video so now does your avalanche go past 90 mph?what did you do about the governor?
Did you have any problems with closing the hood ?
Did you do a MAF relearn?
In my 07 Ava… I didn’t have to. But I do need a plug for the oil tube thing… lol
