Mr. Hall was very impressive. He conducted himself like a gentleman.
Yeah... The opposite of Chris when Anderson got the same injury
@@etiennevcr9276 I get what you're trying to say, but you made a factually incorrect statement. Uriah Hall has fought Chris weidman twice. Weidman KO'd Hall in their first fight 11 years ago. This weekend wasn't the first time they shared the octagon.

I couldn’t believe my eyes for a bit. The irony was astounding. I felt SO horrible for Weidman, but also for Uriah Hall.
There are two ways to react to a situation like that when you're the fighter whose leg didn't break:
1. Be classy like Hall
2. Start celebrating your win IMMEDIATELY while your opponent is clearly in a world of pain like Weidman did vs Silva.
But yeah, these suck ass.
@@Maazitung weidman didn’t realize for the first few seconds of when he broke Silva’s leg
Really weird situation wasn’t it? This wasn’t karma, it was just a freak thing that happened to a great fighter. Mad respect for Uriah with his sincerity as well as Weidman and his great career so far. If anyone can come back, let’s hope it’s Weidman!
@@bradbrown9722 It's weird for sure, but in Silva's case Chris said specifically in the post fight interview that he was trying to block Silva's kicks with his knee and that he did know that there was a chance to break Silva's leg, so I can see where some would say it's karma.
Yeah that was terrible to see, I feel real bad for the dude
That spinning wheel kick against Rockhold ended Weidman's prime, and the leg break ended his career. Heartbreaking.
Dude legit thought he could ko rockhold the same way TRT Vitor did lmao

Just watched that fight for the first time and your right 😳
Herb Dean not stopping it earlier probably stunted his career
@popo1310023 Yeah, and he's been training with Wonderboy too. I was really looking forward to see his performance against Hall.
I came here to cope with the trauma
It was so reminiscent of the Anderson Silva leg break it was fucking insane, and the way he didn't feel it until he put it back down was horrifying
I felt like I was going to throw up.

@@rangoon4238 I hate seeing injuries like that TBH
his leg was just going to the beach.
As if the snapped leg wasn’t bad enough, all his weight coming down on a snapped shin definitely tore a bunch of ligaments in his ankle and shin. He shifted all his weight onto that leg when he stepped back and bent it 180 degrees. He’s 36 and a devastating injury like this could be the end for Chris. Prayers for him man 😥
Yeah man that’s exactly it. Was brutal to watch, almost barfed when I saw it.
The bone punctured the skin as well.
Could be why Cris didn't even seem to notice that his leg snapped. He didn't react right away after the kick, only when he tied to put weight on it.

Uriah: "I don't want to hurt anyone."

Chael's the one that put the Delusional thought in Weidmans head that he was a Bad matchup for Izzy!
Okay I don’t wish harm on anyone, but go back and look at how Weidemen celebrated in the fight against Silva when he snapped his shin. He took the win without any remorse for Silva. I always thought karma would get him for that. And here we stand. Uriah was the example of how you react to something like that to your respected opponent. Either way I wish him a speedy recovery. I respect these fighters to the utmost. I didn’t wish any harm on him. The Universe takes care of everything. No one’s perfect. We all learn something new every day.
This is why thaiboxers and kyokushin karate fighters focus on shin conditioning so much. Heavy bag workouts and rolling metal tubes along their shins and stuff like that.
Weidman checked the same kick against Anderson.. Uriah’s role model is Anderson Silva.. Uriah checks the kick and snapped Weidman’s leg in the same fashion.. 🤯
Weidman is the first person to beat Hall, Hall is the last person to beat Weidman. Weidman is the first person to beat Silva in the UFC, Hall is the last person to beat Silva in the UFC. Silva breaks his leg against Weidman, Weidman breaks his leg against Hall. Crazy man

When Chris told Ariel his plan with his 4 fights left in his contract is to win 2 fights to get the title shot, win the title once, defend it once and then retire I thought it was impossible. Great information for the less informed. Seriously Chael, I watch most of your videos and this one seemed to hit the mark just right. Good job on highlighting Hall’s sportsmanship, I don’t think it was given enough attention by the media.
Chael... “He‘s coming back” Literally everyone else on planet Earth. “No he’s not”

same, that twist at the end made it more horrifying than Silva's injury
Yeah, he had no clue until he tried to post up on the leg....and...it wasn't there....
Uriah did check the kick tho.
Chris Weidman is one of those fighters whose journeys you have to watch, first hand. Beating Anderson catapulted his success and its catching up to him.
Fight commentary and an anatomy lecture all in one video, very nice.

Chael has been on fire as of late. Putting out some excellent videos.
I feel like Weidman is well spoken enough he could be on tv for the UFC a bit because he is not coming back from that. That step back ended his career.
I agree, but part of the problem with these wrestlers is they are so stubborn and hard working, they don’t know when to quit. Frankie Edgar, Matt Hughes, Johnny Hendricks, Mark Coleman, and now Weidman, they fight far past their primes, and a la Askren, sometimes in fights they shouldn’t even be in. They believe they are invincible and that everyone is beatable, except for themselves. Weidman should have hung the gloves up 3 fights ago and took a commentator gig like all the others. He has the potential to do that. However, I feel like he will go down with the ship, as he is too stubborn to stop. He last had the title in 2015! 6 years ago. Since then, he has gone 2-6. He’s only had two wins in 6 years, yet 6 losses. Hang it up. You had a good run. Use some of your other tools to commentate and stay relevant in this sport.
@@bluecollarboys6294 totally agree. He also moved out of his house before either Jacare or Romero as he cited his wife and kids as a distraction. He moved back home with his parents and didn’t see his family for a fairly long time. Taking them to school etc he said was interfering with his camps.

Hockey/Baseball analogy! Ada boy!
Chris acted like a jerk after Anderson broke his leg. He is getting his payback. On the other hand, Uriah was a complete gentleman after this fight.
I think it just took Chris longer to realise. After celebrating I thought he went over to check on him and quickly changed his attitude. No one deserves it anyway.
If u recall Chris celebrated immediately after Anderson broke his leg. Uriah handled the same situation with a lot more class and sportsmanship.
To his defense anderson became incredibly cocky in his fighting. I mean at one point he was practically dancing during fights.
@@playerroku4412 1st of all, Anderson was super cocky and clowning before and during the 1st fight with Chris. I don't remember that happening around the rematch. 2nd of all, that's no excuse for Chris celebrating a man's broken leg. Uriah Hall handled that situation as best as it could possibly be handled. Great video, thank you!
Chael has me knocking on my knee and forehead at work.
Honestly Hall handled it better than Weidman did versus Silva. I believe he threw his hands up and began celebrating while Silva was literally screaming on the ground holding his leg.
Well it was a title defence. Still a bad look but the relief of not getting KO'd by Silva would make anyone celebrate!
He was full on celebrating then was saying that he practiced checking that kick. He was so proud of himself for Anderson's leg breaking.
Yup. And Weidman's fans were all over the internet praising him for training to break Silva's leg. It was insane.
Good point: it's not just "odd" -- it's poetic justice. Weidman had practiced the check (calling it "The Destruction") and openly celebrated (though he did change his tune when he realized how bad it was). However, Matt Serra yelled "f--k him" or some such from the corner. The MMA gods dole out justice, even if it takes years.
You guys need to stop. 2 different fights. Silva/Weidman been fighting for a good few minutes and it was a title fight while some ppl thought Anderson was still in his prime. Hall vs Weidman didn’t have as much on the line and it was the first strike thrown. Of course Chris was a bit more amped then Hall
