  • Today the boys test out the all new Mizuno ST-G Fairway Wood.
    Mizuno's first ST-G fairway wood is a low-spinning, all-Titanium wood that is designed to cater to faster-swinging tour staff and solid ball strikers who seek a penetrating ball flight.
    Like the driver, it is built on the CORTECH Chamber platform, providing golfers with exceptional control and performance.

    Good stuff guys. As someone who loves the shape and feel but can't work with the crazy low spin of the Sim2 Ti type this one's a good match for me.

    The ST-G really interests me because the MP 650 is my favourite fairway wood ever, based on your review the ST-G may be higher launching and not fade biased like the MP 650 was so I am keen to test it out.

    It's not meant to be a dig at Mizuno, but that is a very sexy Mizuno Sim Ti fairway they have created. All they need is a Rocket loft version.

    Don’t forget the Tour Edge Exotics C722 fairways, which had (have) a virtually identical formula - titanium shell and face, carbon fiber in the crown, super-heavy sole plate @ up to 95 grams, and a sole weight positioned in the same forward position on the sole. I switched from a 4 year old Titleist fairway to an Exotics C722 3-wood which I have set to 15.75* loft and cut to 42.5” playing length, which is an exact match for my TS2 4-wood, and I could not be happier. I never thought that I would find a fairway wood that I love as much (or more) compared with the TS2 4-wood, but this C722 fairway has exceeded all of my expectations!

      @@tamaras4838 I agree. Quality control is not TM's strong suit. And I like Mizuno stuff, but this fairway wood is a borderline patent violation.

    This encouraged me. I need spin on a 3 wood. A fast face with spin, is exactly what I need. I bought stealth plus and stealth 2 plus and needed a slight bit more spin

    My sim 2 cracked right before coming to NY for the summer. I really enjoyed the st 190 ts . It was deep and extremely versatile. This might have to get a go. I’m enjoying this radspeed big tour the lads were nice enough to send out but if I’m honest. It be a little to hot with a 43.5 build and 12*😂 it’s literally Linder than driver into the wind thought so I been keeping it around.

    I have the st-190 3wood love it I’m 113mph with my driver and carry my 3 wood about 260…. I issue I have is when the ball or face get wet the club is basically not usable because it just turns into knuckle balls that get about 30 feet off the ground and might carry 150-200 yards. Would love to see a wet ball/face test with fairway woods

    I notice when you hit the Mizuno your angle of attack was +2.8, +1.7, +2.2, +1.4. This is off the deck, where in theory you should be hitting 0 to slightly negative. Do you think your AoA's were correct, or is this an artifact of the launch monitor? How do you think this affects your spin numbers if the values are correct?

    • @martyboysation
      @martyboysation Před 10 měsíci

      To bomb Woods one needs a sligth positive attack to take the spin off, most likely correct attack angle
