Bangtao is perhaps the worst run down area of Phuket, Fishing villages at each end and a main road that is still under construction, Yet it is home to this utter madness of these beach clubs, Bangtao Phuket Thailand

£50 isn't the just for the sunbed though,it also includes £25 food & beverage credit if you had read the sign in full, its a top end beach area so not exactly expensive if you are on holiday for a couple weeks.
You can get a hotel for less 😂😂
2 sunbeds & a parasol cost more than £25 on Alicante beach.

That’s just it Sean… there’s plenty of people out there who make a ton of money & they don’t know what to do with it all. When you make $125,000 or more a year, $50 spent on that is not a problem

Ugh... prices like this are exactly why I do Lanta in semi-low season. Less than 1,000 baht a day will get you a room on the beach with the added bonus of not many tourists crowding the beach.
What an excellent video buddy. Great that they let you into these places and show case them. Free adverising for them and some are smart enough to realise that and even ham it up with all the big smiles. Crumpet everywhere too. Extravagant prices for sure but I guess groups of people share the cost making it still very expensive but one of those one time, I can say I have done it occasions we tend to do once in a blue moon. It's not £50 just for a sunbed though is it! You get £25 worth of food and drink for that and it is a beach club in the most expensive part of Phuket. It's to keep the trash out and the tight people

It’s a Look at me I’ve got money mentality with these beach clubs . People are willing to pay out and then post it all over Social Media to make themselves look good. Personally i wouldn’t pay that kind of money. Not knocking it each to their own. I prefer to see what goes on on the real world. Rather than sitting on a lounger all day pay excessive amounts to be at a private beach club with over priced beer. 🤷♀️

Bang Tao looks pretty up market. Just watched an episode of House Hunters Int where a couple rented a small 2 bed house there, with a small pool in 2022 for US$1000 a month. Which probably ain't too bad after seeing that resort and beach. But the price has likely gone up a lot since then. 👍

I was fortunate enlugh to reside in bang tao for a long time and u pay for a days package which also includes privacy and security, i never paid it of course but i do get it 🙏

The original Catch used to be just a short walk from where you opened up the beer. As you said the clubs at Surin were ordered to demolish as they were on public land. I wonder whose land they are on now, in Bangtao. Imagine those fancy looking overpriced clubs exposed to 5-6 months of salty monsoon winds and heavy rains. Could be hard to maintain in the long run. But the thais are not interested in the long run anyway, its all about quick money. I don't now. Not my kind of places anyway. Surin beach still looks pretty good though. Thanx for sharing! And skol!

A storm water drain is not a sewage outlet. How many times?
Drive around to the end = Layan Beach. A real hidden gem without tourists or farangs. Tide comes at 3PM. Then you can walk across the bay.

I suppose most of those people at those resorts have got travel insurance and dont rent motorcycles without a licence and ride around with no helmuts then set up gofund me pages when they fall off

the only benefit of thailand is cheap rent, food isnt cheap enough, clothes arent cheap unless u want knock off shwag, the women of the night are now all 5s and so lugly with the smart girls selling it online , its a overpriced , run its course place, its for female backpackers to spend 3 weeks and then fly somewhere else, its not longer got vibes or any thing of a escape and its not cheap after rent which is huge but thats it.
