I remember being a young boy and thinking she was the coolest thing since sliced bread. She's a freaking legend, her go for broke attitude and mentality pushed the progression of her sport. As a father now I'm trying to introduce positive role models in there lives, vulgarity aside, Missy "the missle" is, was, and always will be an absolute legend. Namaste
As a young queer kid that rode Mountain Bikes to escape my transphobic parents. She was my inspiration, when I got to racing we met on a few occasions. She was a trip and a half. Sadly I quite racing in high school and wish I could have kept in touch.
I broke my pelvis in four places a year after she did and my tailbone too. Usually it happens in four places I lost a half an inch in leg length and have walked a little funny ever since then and have not run since then I think I lost about one mile per hour on my bike too
