As Sultan Süleyman waits for Alex, he happens to see Mahidevran. İbrahim is held resposible for this mistake. Sultan Süleyman stroms at İbrahim. Sultana feels responsible for what happened and decides to speak to Sultan Süleyman but she meets a reaction that she didn't expect. Süleyman sends a letter which he explains his objectives to Hungarian King Lajos via a messenger. Süleyman is determined that he will have a campaign for Rhodes which has been tried but couldn't been conquered before his era. Süleyman gives Alex a new name. It lances through the palace that Alex will be called Hürrem from now on. This news bothers some in the palace. Hürrem's rapid rise gets negative reactions. Mahidevran punishes Hürrem heavily with the help of Sultana. Mahidevran tells Hürrem that she can save her from this punishment but she has a condition.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I can see why he cares for her, she makes him laugh and treats him like a normal person, in a small way. She's like a breath of fresh air for him, treating him like a husband, or lover, not the sultan. It's like that on most shows and movies, the kings prefer the ladies who treat them like a human and not a king. Hurrem calms him down and he cares for her, more than his other concubines and consorts.

Till when Nigar did not find love in Ibrahim, she found happiness in being a teacher to Hurrem and loved to see her rise because of her lessons.
It's something every teacher feels pride in .. to see their students rise in life because of their lessons.
Also young Hurrem regarded Nigar as someone precious that made Nigar feel valued for her work..which no one else made her feel.

@@mehjabeenm8084 why? Mahedevran took him from Gulfem and the other 7 concubines in the prince’s household. She was favored because she had Mustafa .. not because she was “his”favorite. In the princely household she was number 16 .. there were 16 other women who were his concubines that were paid more than her.. ( so she was really low man on the totem pole).

I was not convinced it was Hurrem showing disrespect. As it was Hurrem not letting others disrespect her. Which she was perfectly capable of doing and should. How many times did we hear Sueliman say to his sisters, Valide and Gulsem: You will not disrespect my wife. A disrespect to her is disrespect to me.

Alexandra was disrespectful to everyone even before she became Hurem. And from the moment she became Hurrem she thought of being above everyone else just because she spent two night with the Sultan. Hurem problem was he arrogance and self confidence. Every time she did something bad, she always hide herself behind Suleyman. She was a coward woman. The little power she had came mainly from Suleyman and her children. She was nothing compared Safeye and Kosem Sultana's, because they would have crushed her in no time

@@ItsDeedlebug I still can't believe people love Hürrem here. Mahi had her husband falling in love with another girl. She suffered a miscarriage and was mentally in a wrong place. Yh she shouldn't have beaten her. But I know of women who have beaten their husband's mistresses lol not saying it's right but that jealousy is powerful. I don't agree that Hürrem became what she was because of others mistreatment..she was power hungry. When her friend Maria/gülnihal complimented her sexy (actually cringe and ugly) dancing in front of the sultan she immediately snappedd and said are you jealous. And what about the acid on gülnihals face. I've had to stop watching this show for a while because this show makes an evil character (Hürrem) always win and the constant evil plotting is giving me anxiety lol.
