From Season 3, Episode 2: "Caballo Sin Nombre"
Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family's financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in the world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.

A couple years ago I was down in El Paso, and near the border on the American side there is a mountain you can climb up, about 6,000 feet. I forget the name of it now but I went up it, and from the summit you can look into Mexico. You can actually see the sharp line where everything becomes orange like in this video. It's surreal.

Until one realizes that a burning cigarette just isnt hot enough to incinerate neither the fuel nor the expanding gas created by releasing it. Not a single one ingnited neither the fluid, nor the vapour. So while its true that the flashpoint of petrol vapour is extremely low and that it can be ignited by the temperature of embers, 1) the cigarette ash just isnt hot enough on its surface and 2) the contact with the vapour isnt long enough before its getting extinguished by the fluid. This might be one of BB's worse scenes for so many reasons. First, the twins are high ranking members of one of the wealthiest and most powerful cartels. So, there is no reason for them to be sneaking across the border with a bunch of random immigrants being driven by a non-cartel coyote. Traveling over the border via plane, tunnel, or driving with fake government documents is something that the cartel could easily facilitate with very little risk.
Second, why wear clothing that links them to the cartel? Even if none of the passengers recognize it, law enforcement would in the event that the truck gets spotted. Third, setting the truck on fire creates a giant signal that law enforcement will quickly notice. There really isn't any benefit to setting the fire in the first place. Eventually the truck would be discovered, but by that point law enforcement wouldn't really have any way to link the shootings to the twins.
For a show that made it a point to pay attention to every small detail, this scene always bugged me.

Saddest thing about this moment is that had the kid continued talking and acted like nothing was wrong, he would've survived.
He should've kept himself together and said something along the lines of:
"Man... those shoes... They are amazing!
    Never seen any like them!
You guys got great taste! Anyways, sorry for talking so much, all this excitement is getting me, better if I just doze off."

I know a lot of people like the twins but they’re the worst part of BB and BCS for me. The shows have loads of quality writing and clearly have a ton of time and effort put in to them and then somehow these two idiots are given loads of screen time and involvement in the plot.
If they didn’t want to be identified as cartel members, why did they wear the goddamn boots? If they planned to kill everyone anyway, why? They’d have to do it in the middle of nowhere as to not get caught, but then they destroy the truck not only forcing them to walk through the desert but also creating a HUGE signal that border patrol/police would realistically be all over to investigate.
What do these fools do when they go home? Just sit and stare at the wall? Do they take showers and shits in tandem like they do everything else?
These characters are baffling to me; did a high schooler write them?

Salamanca’s are arguably the weakest part of BCS. There are some really good ones but overall I felt some moments were ruined in order to make room for Salamanca’s. Tbf they are hard characters to get right cause they are all psychotic murderers.

Completely agree. Never liked the twins. They're the weakest part of BB/BCS. They're supposed to be badasses but they're just a pair of idiots with guns.
They decide to shoot a DEA agent just because Gus gave them the ok, and they didn't bother to clear that with their own bosses first. Not to mention when they try to kill Hank they casually strut around the DEA parking lot as if they were in Sinaola.
