man...i love these surreal melodies. that's what dan does best. he makes music that's equally avant-garde and surreal...AND equally poppy and classic. who does that anymore? who's ever done it this well? other than the beatles.
Contained in my cotton crib Where I feel no turbulence The ocean sleeps upon a shelf And it feeds my apathy But I can feel it in the night Like rain upon my skin inside a winter But you began to splinter If I decide to recognize my thorns 'Cause every time I see your face in a cloud I'll feel no violence So tilt the water 'til it turns me around To my own asylum Dry in the day, I'm fading away in the night I feel the sun before its light And it fades away into the night I was afraid I'll feed myself or clean the shelf And kill for shame But I can feel it in the night Collect the rocks and throw them overborders To shake the mighty waters And clear myself from hiding every thorn 'Cause every time I see your face in a cloud I'll feel no violence So tilt the water 'til it turns me around To my own asylum Dry in the day, I'm fading away And we grow For we gone away right out the window You're just a fool for him For him (x2) 'Cause every time I see your face in a cloud I'll feel no violence So tilt the water 'til it turns me around To my own asylum Dry in the day, I'm fading away (x3) In the night
This is one amazing performance. The vocal at the end…wow. What a formative musical influence for me. Glad I got to see them on this tour at Bowery Ballroom in NYC.
:'-) Bella. I can't believe they didn't include this on the original album! A masterpiece of a song. Just wish those Newcastle bogans would stop whistling...
It's like a lullaby for me and I always love it. And every time I listen and watch this video I feel like I'm listening to my favourite piano songs like A Comme Amour by Richard Clayderman, Ballade Pour Adeline, Marriage d' Amour and Amelie cover by Jacob's Piano. Thanks a lot for this great stress-reliever song Daniel. Keep safe brotha! 🙏✝️👍✌️♥️🤘
Um- I just want to leave one more comment... please, everyone who watches this video- pass it on! Everyone on this good Earth needs to know how talented this beautiful man is!
It is the best band I've met wonderful music and great performance I'm from Brazil and I admire the work they hope to return here because cooncerteza will not miss their show
I was put onto this in the early 2000s and I'm still living for Daniel. 413 is BEST with silverchair+cigar** rides at 3AM through shutesbury 😊 **tobacco kills
@Taylor Holloway this is very sad, the decay in musical terms, he became someone else, I don’t even know him anymore, I don’t know what he wants this DREAMS to be, he knows he’s not good, he knows his voice can’t sing anymore more silverchair songs, I think he surrendered to normal and easy music
@@KMouta I disagree. I think his creativity has evolved passed your shoebox understanding of music and he is so ahead of his time he is moving too fast for people who are stuck in a timeless spin where they haven’t grown passed grunge and rock being silverchairs niche. Daniel is a profound talent and I adore every creative project he has touched especially his solo album Talk.
@@KMouta you are making this about you when we are clearly talking about Daniel. His voice is and his capabilities are endless. Very excited to hear his new album coming out April 22. All on his terms without rock pigs and money hungry industry dogs trying to shove him back in that shoebox he has so clearly outgrown and moved on from. I love Silverchair but I love Daniel more and everything he has to offer this world creatively.
well i taught myself how to play it, i have a video on here, just search "silverchair asylum". perhaps i will make a video showing exactly how i play it. because honestly i dont know how to read sheet music.. so i couldnt even say what chords i was playing.. haha. and the actual recording of the song is a piano with a harpsicord in the backing
@cphunk bit extreme don't you think? he's never officially announced he's had substance abuse problems so you don't know this for sure, and people do recover from unhappy situations in life.
if anyone here knows how to play this song, may you kindly send me the chords, please, i really want to learn how to play it.. i want to widow the song but i'm afraid my ears aren't that developed yet, so maybe i can just get the chords and i'll figure out how to play the whole song
It's amazing how he can express the most depressing things/experiences so beautifully....
It is sublime

Daniel é um gênio nato. Silverchair e seu legado será sempre lembrado, só temo pela saúde mental dele e espero que um dia ele melhore. ❤️
Nossa, eu digo o mesmo. Minha banda favorita da vida. Show mais que perfeito...

Acredito que tenha amadurecido e hoje está na melhor! 🙌🏿❤️

Seriously- this is the best Silverchair performance I have ever seen. His voice was dead-on here and in top condition. This song made me cry!

Daniels biggest compromise was not putting this in the album
Anyone heard what he’s up to these days?
“D R E A M S” I’m not a massive fan, I miss the CHAIR
