A really good tour and plenty of clear information for a starting grower, thank you very much :)
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS. I cannot watch it now, but I'm bookmarking it for useful reference. I really am a newbie at this amazing hobby, so I feel I need to learn as much as I can to improve. Keep up the great work, namaste.🙏🍄
after endless hours of searching i have finally found the right video!!! great build, great info!!
just ordered everything i needed :)
you sir, are the man!!!!
s_t_a_n__ right I'm about to sub update please
Right? This is an amazing set up man. Kudos.
Just put the box inside the fruiting chamber on highest level and get rid of that fan+ugly pipe
@@orion9k if he does that it runs the risk of contaminants in the tent as he will have to refill the tub every day
@@jordangreenwood8124 by the time your fruting contamination is not even a big deal the mycelium is already formed. Now its just a matter of time. As fast as you can flush before you loose you blocks to the contamination that is environmentally going to happen. If it's inside there's less contamination.
I'll tell you what I'd like to see... those shelves full lol. Great vid, just what I was after 👍
I fruit mine whitout any extra expenses ...that simple ! I feel now so much more happy !
The way u cut the hole , genius sir
So crazy I was just showing my husband that I wanted to try and do this with the exception of the fogger I have a high end humidifier that takes a full jug of water at a time and it digital. As far as your tote leaking maybe get that self adhesive weatherization stripping to seal it better. Like a gasket tub. Basically that's all that they use in the airtight gasket tubs. Or just let it rip and let a little moisture go through it. It's good to have some moisture in your breathing air especially if your in a dryer climate. I'm in Yakima washington and it's really dry so that's why I got my high power humidifier fogger. I just attached a new corrugated hose to it. I'm for sure following through with the mini green house. Inspired so thank you! Great minds think alike
Great video. You're very articulate and clear. Thanks for the great info.
This is EXACTLY what I wanted someone to post. Exactly. Thank you. That leak in fog may be fixed with some weather stripping btw.
So glad you find it helpful! It's the video I was looking for but couldn't really find before I built mine. Thanks for the tip on the weather stripping, that's a good thought.
Just put the box inside the fruiting chamber on highest level and get rid of that fan+ugly pipe - you welcome
@@drewdrozynski2422 Willy Myco did a vid on Martha Tek that covers all this and he gave links for all the parts. He got the idea somewhere. But it got taken down:(
Great looking build. You can probably use weatherstripping to make the unit seal better. Make sure the water does not get too hot. I used one of the house of hydro’s fog makers as a humidifier but the water temp got too hot: it did not end well. Lol
You could also turn the vent upwards in the greenhouse and let the roof be a stopper for the fog and let it settle back down and cover the insides. Makes great climate!
Yeah 👍
Looks great I might build something like this but with smaller racks and some sort of drainage that will allow for air exchange near the bottom
You can use pvc 4"connector with clamp for air tight seal and aquarium sealant around the pvc for ducting both chambers. Weather stripping for a container with clamps. Also a 4" hole saw in reverse for perfect hole if your going to use ducting.side note the ducting is not air tight material so pvc works better and smaller diameter will push fog into the chamber with less effort, also hook up a humidistat controller to the fan
Thank you for this. I want to grow Lion's Mane also. Vegan, live in the desert - LOL, so have not been able to figure out how to do that yet. But then today, after weeks of searching how to humidify my three RV storage trailers (evaporative coolers were proving to be very expensive to run), I ran across a video about this Hydro foggers. And there in the left margin was your video. Looking forward to trying this. Keep us posted on changes or thoughts.
A mushroom is a living thing you are doing it wrong.
Mr Drozynski you REALLY need to make a follow up to this video. Let us know how it went, any problems, what changes, if any, you had to make, if you think this is the best setup for a Martha, etc
Yup.. It certainly looks good, I'd love to see this thing in action though.
i made one with the 3 disc, built it into a cabinet (waterproofed). works really well. I recommend an antimicrobial light for the water tub or frequently cleaning the tub
i also run my set up very wet, fogger running on a cycle of 2 hrs on 4 hrs off, with the fan on low always, i never have to dunk, they re hydrate on their own. i do this because my humidiswitch didnt work right and i wanted a lot of oxygen for the oysters blocks in there too, so i had to work out the timings to keep it at 99% rh and never drop while still getting the oxygen. not having your fan running all the time will probably lessen the likelihood of things making their way into your water tub.
@@TRULYTWIST3D Awesome man, thanks for the input.
@☠MrHairyNutz☠ a little dumb of you to say since he has gourmet blocks in the tent, Apparently some one forgot to tell you there is more than one type of mushroom.
A quick google also shows that he isn't in jail. Go spread your shit on your own walls, it doesn't belong here.
Great video. Thanks. I built a 5x5 ft fruiting chamber using much the same system based on a video and links provided by Freshcap. I might do a smaller (your version) just to have mushrooms in the kitchen for daily eating.
Very slick, your effort shows. 👽🤙
Great Video. I've been looking for something like this.
Works appreciate a detailed video, thanks.
Target has some air tight bins, they have a blue foam liner around the cover that works great and they’re not crazy expensive
Hey man, cool build. I just saw 2 other videos where people where talking about spore build up and how you need a sort of exhaust vent to outside or a filter to catch it in otherwise it just becomes too much in the long term.
MAAAAN THANKS! JUST FINISHED MY BUILD!
How'd it go?
Just got the stuff for mine how did it go?
Good video brother
And u explain it very well
Genius. Thanks for posting.
Vicks cool mist vaporizer on the second-tier, get a small oscillating fan ,put at bottom left corner facing up on low or buy timer and put on the 30 min schedule.
Purchase an Inkbird humidity unit and hook it up to the vaporizer. Unzip one side 12 inch or so for FAE and set fan near.
Make two slits in the top of the roof maybe 2inch and stuff with polyfill lightly for exhaust.
Nice setup.
About the jet going too straight at higher flow rates, you could modify the outlet of the duct.
Something that swirls it. Like the rotor of an old fan.
3:00 had me crackin up XD Thanks for the video man! I'll probably make the same
FYI: brushless fans are generally very water resistant. Many will actually function fully submerged. Don't pay extra for a "waterproof" brushless fan.
KEEP ON SHROOMIN IT - NICE JOB KEEP IT UP
I use the chamber for tubs and do the bags outside of the chamber to have more room.also the bags are self contained mini humidity chambers
Damn that's sweet ... you should be proud of it ...
I'm building one, fan will be in a puller position. By using a pusher configuration (like most people) you are pre-pressurizing the grey bin. If you evacuate air from the other side of the fruit chamber it would create negative pressure and draw the air from the mist box. You might need an exhaust shroud with the fan to create enough pressure to pull the air through efficiently. I think I'll be building a small 50 - 60L chamber soon, for 'educational' purposes... Pay no attention to my alias - it means nothing... really... ;)
Pulling humid air through a fan will dramatically reduce fan life. Additionally you'll need to put it high enough that it doesn't get splashed by water as the misting units create a lot of splashing.
Cant tell from video, as what I don't see on this tent is any FEA. I don't see any exhaust ducting to outside? Without FEA, CO2 will be in the thousands and cause a lot of issues, and without exhausting to outside the house will become unhealthy with high spore load, especially if growing oysters.
Dude- just use a ZooMed reptile digger,it only requires a 1 inch hole ,& you can dial in the humidity perfectly. Also,if you cut a tarp big enuf to go 3 inches up around all sides on the bottom, you can use black office file clips, you seal the bottom off. I use a desk top clip fan laying upward on the bottom shelf for FAE. Pretty extreme build u got tho😉👍🏼
If you ran another tube from the fruiting chamber to your tub, connected to the fan on the tub... You could run the fan higher and recirculate the air so you don't lose humidity. Just an idea
Your tub and fan would end up getting destroyed by spores and end up creating a ton of maintenance work.
You can buy rubber draft excluders that go around door frames that have a sticky side that might go round the inside of that tote to make a nice seal
Very neat,,,,,,,l love it,,,,,❤👍
Hope I'm saying this right. Use Duck duel weather seal tape for windows and doors on the inside of that lid. You'll have to use a strong plastic advievsive. Also need to rough up the inside with sandpaper to stick it. Makes a great seal with right tub.
A masterpiece!
Just a thought but if you added a deep pan or something at the bottom and a small fountain pump you could with a few modifications you could more or less create a sump like pump that catches the water in the bottom and when it gets above a certain level it would pump it back into your main reservoir.
To fix the seal of the tote, the silicone would work as long as you put petroleum jelly on the other side. Another solution would be some weather stripping around the inside might help too. I seen someone use the weather stripping for making a Still Air Box though don't see why it cant be used here as well.
I have House of Hydro products too! Love them, they are great. Instead of a 3 head fogger perhaps you can just move your water up so that the fan doesn't have to pump the fog as high?
Just put the box inside the fruiting chamber on highest level and get rid of that fan+ugly pipe
@@orion9k plus that keeps it all in one. No mods. What about drip?
Seeing as how you need to keep the fan on low to prevent the fog from escaping the chamber, would you go with the 30mm Fan Kit instead or just get the bigger Hydro fogger which in turn would fix the issue. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated? And thanks for adding in lessons learned at the end of the video!
Hey thank you that’s great info, I am using the smaller Martha tent and blowing around the same air with a fan and humidifier inside the tent doesn’t work too well. I want to figure out a way to get clean air into the tent then exhaust as well
Thank you
Nice build. put an adhesive insulation strip around the top of the bucket to seal it.
Gorgeous
awesome video i iwll do it with my hydroponic green house
I'd add an air stone to keep the water moving, foggers clog easily from small amounts of algae, but like the overall set up.
nice job!
Aquarium heaters usually have thermostats in them.
Do you have to soak your subs when you have em in a fruiting chamber or are the humidity levels high enough to keep the sub hydrated enough?
great vid, two questions- how much water pools up in the bottom, and how did you get the supply water line to the tote? thanks.
You gotta clean pretty often? Have you tried with trays/monotubs or I wonder if itd work pretty good with unmodded tubs
I've often wondered about using that space on the floor to do some companion planting
I wonder what plants would go well, without taking away too much humidity?
Just wondering how are you still liking your Martha? Has it given you good yields? And also, is there anything that you didn’t mention in the video that you would do differently? Did you ever add the exhaust? Sorry for so many questions, but thank you for your time and video.
Hi, couple questions for you sir.
Did you ever learn if your needed exaust for the tent and how that works? Also is an air filter something to consider?
I happened to buy that humidistat for other reasons and found that it doesn't seem to have a setting higher than 85 or maybe 90%? Seems like it's worth just running the fog constantly without a regulator to get it high enough
On tray racks get those things u put in cabinets for dishes the lol mean rubber like mats cut em to size it also collect moisture and allows air flow few USB clip fans on each rack u good I also added a air filter only to clean air of spores that may slip if inlet mature but a reptile fogger will work with a humidity controller I also added a heater due to winters which those dish Matt's came in handy too keep water from falling to lower level with electric heater lol it is a bit dangerous but I keep eyes on it so far its perfect
Nice set up man. Four questions. The hole you made in the lid for the fan is 80mm wide? Did you cut this by hand or use a drill and a hole saw? Also, does the hardware you used to attach the fan to the lid come with the fan or was that bought separate? Any other tips or suggestions since you uploaded this?
Great video!! Answered alot of ??.
Really cool video! One question I have, would it work to just use a standard humidifier from Amazon instead of a tote set up? There's a guy who has a channel called Astro way or something like that and that's what he used. But I was wondering if it puts out enough steam to actually be usable
Can you tell me what change in humidity you are able to achieve with the One-disk pond fogger. The Humidity where I live is usually around 89% so I am wondering if I might be able to get away with the One disk fogger. Also I was wondering if you raised the tub if the efficiency of you system would increase? Thanks.
this is so helpful, thank you for making this for the other people like myself. It's made this process figuring things out way faster. My question is, what are you going to do if that float valve fails while you're at work or away from the house? It seems like it would flood the entire house. I'm thinking of putting in a drain hole like a bathtub has and leading a tube to a sink. What do you think?
That sounds like a smart idea to me.
just a heads up dont use silicone to seal the lid, silicone will mold! i would use an outdoor caulk for that! Love the build, i already have that exact same greenhouse i use for starting seedlings and cloning looks like it might be my new fruiting chamber!!
Any recs on the specific type of caulking?
Look into weather stripping instead, like you would use to seal the edge of a door or window.
So how do you vent out all the spores?
How much yield does this produce per week? Love the tent
What do you prefer more mono tubs or this type of fruiting chamber?
Great video, thanks for sharing. Could in increase humidity by recirculating instead of drawing fresh air in with the fan?
your saying use an exhust fan right to keep it recirculating
You should use an ice chest for the fog machine
Would be nice to see it in action
I saw the mist leaking out, so I think it was in action.
Eyyy I made mine before watching this video but we basically have the same setup lol
Hi , nice experience , what is the switch-on interval of the vaporization ? every hours ?
Put a dryer vent on The end in the greenhouse that way you crank the power on the mister
Do you think you could get away with the one disc fogger if it didn't have to travel so far? Like mounting it close to where it is entering?
Weather strip to seal the tote.
This is nicebut by the time you buy all these components and build it yourself you can just buy the ecosphere from Midwest mushrooms which has everything you mentioned. the proper humidifier the proper heater the proper everything including the proper lights and a gage which measures both temperature and humidity all contained in one unit for $209. it may be a little more money than what you spent here but in the long run you're going to end up buying all those pieces that are contained in the ecosphere. You're going to end up spending more more money and have a bunch of piecemealed mismatched parts. the ecosphere is the best product I've seen on the market to do what it is you're trying to do here. I'm a homegrown myself take it from me I know. If you buy the fully loaded model that is 1 with 14 bags. Eight 3lb 5 grain grow bags and six bags of casing mix (substrate) it's $409 Midwest mushrooms throws in a 5th shelf plus the treys to go on the shelves and some other miscellaneous items. The 14 bags cost $220 by their selves. Check out Midwest mushrooms they got the best deals going on growing supplies that I've found anywhere. Everything they sell is specifically designed for growing mushrooms. Their ecosphere is the best deal I have seen anywhere. You can't build it yourself for lesseven if you do save a few dollars you're going to have a bunch of mismatched parts.
God Bless 🙏😇 Y'all
Jimmy in NC....
James Reaves what did you yield off the Midwest ecosphere? I’m trying to figure out if I should use mono tubs or get the ecosphere. Just really like the heating system and humidifier they come with. Substrate and grain I can source easily myself
You could lay perlite in the floor and create a more stable, humid environment.
Great work! How do you protect your shelf from (sun)light?
What do you have at the base, on the floor under the hot house?
Very nice Ihave built something very similar. Growing oysters is no problem. However growing lions mane has proved hard they never seem to develop teeth. How have you gone with frutiing... are you trying lions mane?
You definately want the fan low.
90% RH should be ok for mushrooms, what are you looking to grow that needs more?
I used soft weather proof foam you use on doors and outdoors to seal boxes.
If you are going to do temp control you would want to insulate the sides of the tent, i.e. build a fridge.
To improve this you probably need a 3 disc fogger and an exhaust fan with ducting flowing outside pulling air out for FAE and spore removal. CO2 will buildup fast in there and you will have problems fruiting.
Irie 5447 would it be okay to dump the air back into your bedroom? My concern is health
@@stlglassproject you could but the room and everything in it will be covered in powdery spores. Makes an absolute mess.
Looks good and sounds good but how well does it work? How are your fruits?
i would try weatherstripping to help seal lid
Some foam weather striping around that rim would probably work
Maybe a tray of perlite on the bottom would help keep humidity up
Any thoughts about adding a little hydrogen peroxide to the water to prevent mold or mildew growth in the tub? Seems like it would decompose on the way up the fog pipe and be nothing but water and O2 in the fruiting chamber.
Im getting a similar system is fanning recommended?
Second Daily venting fan ;)
Hi I have the same exact tent and was wondering what you did to seal the bottom?
Hi Drew - Not sure if you check the comments anymore, but if you do, I have a few questions:
1) Did you ever do a modification for CO2 and spore exhaust?
2) Did you ever go to a three disk fogger?
That is my question. Where is the exhaust? Cool that you built your input with your humidifier.
@@marklapolla2638 it just drafts out through the bottom
You should have showed us a demo of the fogger
Hey man how is your willhi set up ? the fan and disk fogger look like they’re connected to the same outlet
Can u please tell me the name of the humidity controller u use
Have you had any issues with contamination? Wondering if it might make sense to have some sort of micron filter on the intake .....
Looks good, but it misses a Oxigen / CO2 exchange. I guess the Oxigen comes in with the fogger, but there's no escape route for CO2 (?).
How much did you spend for the whole set up ?
If you do put perlite in the bottom. It mite bump you up on your humidity your needing.
I want to put an inline exhaust fan on my martha greenhouse to vent it. What cfm fan should I use?
Dude I’ve been waiting for an update for two years.
Here's how you might improve performance without upgrading to a multi disk muster:
Have a chimney running from the mouth of your tub exhaust to the bottom of the tub. Drill large holes all around and all along said chimney. Chimney must be big enough to have the buoy fitted INSIDE it.
This setup will channel all of the mist generated by the buoy directly to the exhaust port. No loss.
I used ABS pipe fittings.
just run a little weatherproofing foam under the lid for a better seat. thats what i would do..
nice!
