Thank you so much for your concise explanation of image tracing! Your video really encouraged me to try using this feature and opens up even more possibilities for Scan N Cut projects!!!

6:42am: it’s so happened that you appeared on my CZcams. And because it was a scan and cut video naturally I needed to watch it. Thank you so so much I have so enjoyed it, I have learned a lot from the two short videos I was watching this morning. I hope there are more to watch as I have learned much more in this two videos than I did since using the machine.❤

I don’t think I will ever figure anything out other than scanning stamped images. I appreciate all of your videos ❤️

I understand how you feel. Canvas Workspace can be very intimidating. I personally think the ScanNCut is worth the money just to be able to scan stamped images so knowing how to do that is a great thing. But, don't give up! You can learn Canvas Workspace slowly - just practice a couple of things over and over until you feel like you've got them down before you move on to more complicated functions. Go at your own pace and don't feel bad if it takes a while to learn it. It is not easy or intuitive. But, it's really fun to make projects in the program so I encourage you to keep trying. You can do it!!

I know I'm late to the party, but this tutorial really helped me to figure out what all those extra little cuts are in my image. And best of all, now I know I can clean up my traced image by deleting them. Thank you so much!😘

I'm glad it was helpful! Those mystery extra pieces are always a bit odd but almost always delete-able. 8-)

Thank you for this tutorial. I am new to scanncut and find many of the tutorials on you tube spend more time telling you what they are going to do and less time doing. This was great. Thank you and keep them coming.

Thank you so much! I am delighted that I could help and I always do my best to be beginner-friendly and clear but never know if I succeed. So it's great to know I helped you.

My pleasure. Those extra layers always seem very weird to me so I absolutely had to address them - lol. Glad you liked the video!

Elena!! So great to hear from you! Excellent tutorial. I learned a lot. I fought with my scan and cut for hours the other day trying to transfer an image to be cut. I couldn't do it because I need some type of activation code. Ended up finally saving to a USB and then plugging it into the scan and cut. Frustrating!!!

Hi Lori! You have a ScanNCut CM model (ScanNCut 2) right? Those need an activation card you have to purchase in order to accept wireless file transfers. That may be what you ran into. It sucks that you have buy that but could be worth it. It's one of the main reasons I upgraded to a DX.

Hello. I was happy to find this and now my question. Craft with Sarah shows how to make a flat Mandala image into a 3D layered Svg in Design Space using the contour tool. As a Scan n cut user, what is the equivalent to that tool? I was referred to you by Abbi who says you are familiar with both programs. I'm a subscriber of yours and have my fingers crossed. I've searched the web for this answer. You are my last hope.

Hi! Unfortunately, there isn't a tool in Canvas Workspace that is as easy to use as the Contour tool in Cricut Design Space. You can do the same type of project but you'd need to duplicate the shape, probably several times, and then delete the paths/nodes on each shape to create the different layers. You can do that by selecting the first shape and double clicking on it. That will open the Path Editing Tools on the top toolbar (on the desktop version), and then delete the nodes creating the paths you do not want to cut on each shape. It's more complicated than Design Space that will just let you hide the paths you don't want to cut with the Contour tool, but it can be done. I can't find any good tutorials that show this on CZcams, so you've given me an idea for a video I can make. But in the meantime, you might check this one out; it's pretty long and not covering exactly what you're looking for but particularly around 26:55 when she starts editing the inside shapes on the butterfly that will give you an idea of how to do it: czcams.com/video/n6J4Yq9097A/video.html I hope that helps!

Great question - my Cricut Design Space tutorial on the same topic will be out in about two weeks so stay tuned. 8-)
