It does indeed and brings you to the new level. I think the new level is supposed to be done before the sewers once the game expands but it is the players choice.

(I still managed to do it by putting a piece of wood through the bars and using that to push the sword closer so I could grab it with the thaum.)
Why didn't you put the rechargeable blue crystal on the armor? You takeit from Golem, but it was buried under the other armors in your inventory. If you finish charging and wear the blue crystals that run out during recharging, you will use the armor for much longer.
If I don't give you any wrong information, the large covered blue crystal that fell from the Golem is out of use. But in level 6, the encased crystal from the chests in the golem workshop area is recharged. It runs out when you use it, but when you take it out, it fills up again. The golem workshop area is on the right before the golem.

Barrier is a really good spell for fighting ghouls, and the faels too. You can push ghouls back when they try facehugging and the fael swipes can be properly blocked. The strikes enchantment makes the marketplace far easier than before, I actually managed to one hit a fael with a foundry halberd but part of that was the procedural modifiers giving extra slash. I used to have a lot of trouble fighting ghouls with polearms before barrier but now I can always make distance in an instant so no interrupts like with force blast/bolt.

I believe the comment about the new floor entrance may have been me and it wasn’t anything concrete, just there used to be a door that lead to nothing, it opened, there’s another side like a new map load zone, didn’t go anywhere (may have been west side) it was just out in the main crossroad area outside the buildings
6:35 that's not an ancient undead. Just a skeleton with armor like most enemies in the crossroads. Take of their helmet and you'll see their skelly faces 😅
If you do the sewers completely you can find more blue crystals. I found 4 down there I think last run but it does take awhile and some places have a multiple demon fight but not too bad with a good greatsword.
Odin, I wrote the wrong comment in the previous one. Large encased crystal falling from the golem is out of use. But just before the golem, the encased blue crystal that find from any chest in the golem workshop on the right and bottom right recharges. Sorry for the previous misinformation 😊 By the way, I bugged the game, there was a problem while inserting and removing the blue crystals. Now the crystal is not attached but it behaves as if it were installed. I can run as I want. But maybe it will be restored when I close and reopen the game. 😂😂
Man...i went to this golem level before doing Sirs...my lil guy is zooted up now...plate armor...pole axe, pole hammer, the greatsword...even got that helmet that heals...then i went back and took care of Sir...then cleared crossroads and it's sewers...is the only save spot at the blue portal?
You should try using the AOE one as a quick cast, it seems to come out really fast and would be good for if you are being surrounded/hugged, and no need to aim it, just help regain spacing.

Learn the calm spell and you can calm a scared zombie or the heroism spell and they won’t run for the duration of the spell
The fire sword does not do extra fire damage yet. Has not been implemented so if you already have a really good greatsword don't bother getting it.

I think if you have early checkpoints selected in the options that it will save at the start of each floor.
