I would rather you get through the whole song then go back to specific parts that surprised you
Would stop analyzing stop explaining why she is magnificent
In 62 years of living and nearly 20 years of instrumental and vocal music performance, I have to truly say that Sydnie is one of the top 10 vocalists I've ever heard. When she gets her big, starring role on the West End, I will fly to the UK for the first time in my life, just to see her.
Me too. I can't wait.
She is a fantastic singer but for over the rainbow you should listen to Lauren Allred which she sang sometime ago on AGT i believe and it is the same and they both sang it incredibly well. Thereâs nothing wrong in copying someone as good as Lauren mind you.
@@gianrobertoferrari7649 Sydnie did say that after the perfromance and also on a talk show that she used Lauren's arrangement. She also said that Lauren sent her a message congratulating her.
Agree she would dominate the west end, but I have to say, I think she is better than that, but I get it she needs to âpay her duesâ. Whatever she does I WANT TO HEAR IT, amazing talent.
@@gianrobertoferrari7649 thank you for the tip, I just listened to her! Another amazing version.
This woman was put on this planet to sing.
Shes such a great singer, but her personality makes you love her.
Amen.
The very first time I heard her when she said,â Hallowwww!â during her audition song âtomorrowâ , I was like âJesus who is this girl?â I was not expecting that heavy Brit accent to come out of her sweet pretty face. I canât tell you how many reaction vids Iâve watched of her 3 performances. They are all 3 so moving. So beautiful. Sheâs really something special
It's not just that she has got an amazing voice, she has the most wonderful personality and is beautiful inside and out, that makes her radiate this when she sings.
The clarity and control in her voice is extremely powerful. She delivered the vocals tho. The charisma and posture on the stage is also otherworldly. She is a total package and i think we can call her a star and icon already. She is shining btw, even her eyes is also story telling us which is a part of a being an artist. Thank u so much for gorgeous and knowledgeable reaction to Syndnie dear Beth. Keep it up !!
I heard her say she had a new vocal coach who really helped her. I can't imagine anyone in Broadway or the West End rejecting her. I don't care how competitive they are, she is incomparable.
These performances are simply magnificent. No matter how many times I experience them, my appetite is never surfeited - and I have experienced each well over one hundred times now. Sydnie is supreme. She is simply the Sydnie. Letâs âave it, girl. â€ïž
A cogent and compelling analysis, Beth, delivered with poise, professionalism and lilting eloquence. I thank you.đ
Such a powerhouse! I am absolutely addicted to that voice! Just WOW! đ€đ€đ€
Did you miss her first audition, where she got the golden buzzer? It's a must-see, particularly seeing her personality when they talk to her. I'm going to look for your reaction to that. Rob
Even Judy Garland is standing on a cloud giving her a standing ovation.
I think she used these three songs as her resume for the directors and theater talent agencies for her chance to star on the West End. For me she is worth hundreds of dollars ticket price to hear her in a performance. May Godâs blessing on her voice be a gift for the ages to comeâ€â€â€â€
She is SO GOOD ⊠02 perfect performances⊠for me, one of the greatest singers today â€ïžâ€ïž
Finally someone else acknowledge the Judy Garland-esq sound! Thank you. Great educational video.
Good catch on the Garland sound!! Bravo.
So much talent in this world.
Amazing how a singer like this can go around auditioning etc and still be pretty much unknown by 28. Here's to hoping this will be the start of a glowing career! I, for one, will certainly be looking out for her future performances and , hopefully, album.
My thoughts on her singing...and i say this as a guy who grew up around singing with my mom singing professionally. The three songs sung by Miss Christmas for BGT are by FAR...my most favorite versions of those iconic songs ever sung. I sat up the other night thinking about what other songs I'd love to hear her sing...from Alphavilles "Forever Young" to The Eagles "Desperado" to Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"...and Berlin's "Take My Breath Away"...and i started making a list to suggest to her ...and ill be damned if it wasnt well over 200 iconic songs on my list. I immediately stopped creating the list after seeing how big it was getting. Her voice is PERFECT. It absolutely resonates right through me at my core. Crazy good. The perfect pitch, sniper control, and buttery tonal variations are perfect. I can't get enough of her singing. I'm not at all embarrassed about the number of times I've listened to her 3 songs she sang on BGT. My only problem now is...How do we get her to sing the 5,000 songs in my musical index???â€
Dusty Springfield "You Don't Own Me"â€
Oh yah Dustyâs songs, too! She can sing đ€ any, I guess!
you hit the nail on the head, there are so so many talented singers knocking on the door,s of the west end, thankfully this talented, and ,well just gorgeous ,funny young lady has taken her chance, A star is born, enjoy your journey syd, do not change.
What it must have been like to be in that audience. WOW!! All 3 of Sydnie's performances were Outstanding, but this is my favorite. In fact, it's my all time favorite vocal performance on any talent show---EVER! Humble, self-deprecating, incredibly funny, and beautiful inside and out. FYI In 17 years of BGT, no female singer had ever won. And I'd be surprised if the vote count was close. She is simply A Voice for the Ages!!! Great reaction, Beth. đ
đźWow! Good to know ⊠she IS so amazing! Truly wish in my lifetime (hurry SYDNIE! ) to attend her even just one of her upcoming concerts! Could you PLEASE let SYDNIE know - a lot of us around the world, I guess, need her to âLETâs âAVE IT!â â€â€â€
@@rosegardenia3254 She is the only artist (besides Angelina Jordan) I would travel to see.
I can't get through it without tears either. And I have listened a LOT.
Me too...She elicits such emotions from me.
She actually sang Loren Allred's rendition of this song (that was who was singing it in the Golden Buzzer video, if you didn't know). Loren is her idol and gave Sydnie her blessing to sing this version! :)
Great reaction as always!
Sydnie did say that after the performance and also on a talk show that she used Lauren's arrangement. She also said that Lauren sent her a message congratulating her.
I am 66 years old living in Florida with cancer surviving alone with my 2 boxers. I listen to these shows since the beginning and I have done tons of cruising pre covid. I loved the shows but never saw Syd personally. Now my musical career consisted of me in elementary in a choir hitting a note and the teacher stopped everything and wanted to know who did that and I was afraid. My mom was a homemaker but was in the church and took her singing seriously and in high school I would yell at her to let me sleep. Wow do I feel like a schmuck. One thing I have come to appreciate and love so much is seeing people'e reactions of happiness and experience something so beautiful. I love bringing a smile to peoples faces for sure but Im not that special but watching Syd just absolutely change people's entire mental environment. I saw you cry, I need to take a break from binge watching these 3 performances because my skin is tired from goosing up on me. Oh I am so happy for her but I also must express my love to Ireland and England worked for BT for years been to Ipswich to the Labs, over to Northern Ireland when bombs were exploding on the runways at Heathrow BUT the people over there are amazing and beautiful. Beth (hope thats your real name) I think you are so just amazingly gorgeous when you express your true feelings about Syd you pop on your chair smile just exude your feelings. Just awesome. Thank you and I will always watch you.
What precision on that last 'My Way'. Stupendous! That last note, was like it had her, and she had it. She had to like unhook herself from it, in order for her to stop; to end the song; or it would have just taken her to the moon or something. Absolutely tremendous! And, boy, was I ever glad to be along for that ride; so thrilling. Shivering me timbers, & stuff like that! Woooh!đ
A humble champion. Best wishes to her.
Never heard so many vocals teachers give her so much credit she will go right to top
How anyone could pass her up for musical theater is beyond me
Itâs easy. Musical theater cast is character based performance in a relatively medium or small venue. She is obviously too talented to play someone else. She is so nuclear powerful that she needed a huge venue and crowd to turn her power loose! Those casting directors didnât know what she was capable of and agents who turned her down have probably hung themselves by now lol.
@@jim99west46 bang on, needed to be centre of stage, doing what syd does, and she does it to perfection, god bless her.
Well done, your joy analyzing these performances is heartfelt
As a someone who canât sing to save my own life, I can appreciate how hard this must be to pull off. My analogy is as if someone willingly jumps into a rip tide and holds gracefully, coming out of the water again without a strand of hair out place. Iâm not a fan of the style, but the technique is out of this world. Executed to perfection.
Beth - About that shift you point out on "DARE" (in "that you dare to dream..."), where the vowel opens to an AH sound: This is one of several places in all three of Sydnie's BGT performances where (to my ear, anyway) she channels Barbra Streisand. Do you hear it? Other Streisand moments I noticed included: in "Tomorrow," the second line "Bet your bottom dollar"; and, in "My Way," the way she fairly chomped on that sound "choo" in "more than I could CHEW." For just those fleeting moments, I could see Barbra right there, in her early twenties, at the mic with Sydnie. Of course I hear other greats as well -- Judy Garland and Liza Minelli and some others mentioned in other comments. I love that Sydnie isn't imitating anyone, but the community of great singers shines through her.
Gives me goose bumps everytime I watch and listen to her sing. Such a wondeful person with a amazing voice. Great report Beth. D. x
Loren Allred needs a little credit for Over The Rainbow. Sydnie talks about doing Lorenâs version. Sydnie has Shirley Bassey and Ethel Merman voice and performance qualities. Sydnie is a show stopping performer. I think she may have auditioned for the wrong parts in the West End. Love her!đđčâ€ïž
Sydnie has stated a few times that one of her idols is Loren Allred. She said sheâd love to do a collaboration with her. And yes she credits Loren with Over The Rainbow. It was her arrangement.
FINALLY! Someone else thought of Ethel Merman⊠thatâs what I thought of first as a classic singer.
Michael Jordan was put on this planet to play basketball. Sydnie was put on this planet to SING!!
Sydnie won the crowd over at her audition with her lovely personality!!
You should watch her BGT audition where she earned a golden buzzer with her heartfelt performance of âTomorrowâ.
Sydnie gives me âShirley Basseyâ vibes, rippling right across a pond of goosebumps! đźâ€đ
when I heard her audition I hoped she would win love her voice
I'm a HUGE Judy Garland fan and pretty much can't stand anyone else singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" because it just doesn't compare, but this version, good lord, this version has Judy and Sydnie and wistful and dreams and determination and joy and pain and hope and disappointment all wrapped up and my GOD can that woman open her mouth and sing. In close up shots you can see her uvula and the back of her mouth and how it's positioned and how it's vibrating and you know that this is the real deal. Like Simon said--are these people deaf that you are auditioning for? Well, they ain't deaf now cause she's done BLOWN the roof off the place. It truly is a Sydnie Mary Christmas!!!!
Thanks a million! You gave us great insight and entertainment. Brilliant
I think she is a great singer with great personality. When she sings she reaches your heart and stays there. It remains in your mind and you sing the way she sings. Now she owns the song.
Love the way you have done this. And now I know that you are an awesome singer yourself. â€
Hell of a voice.
She is amazing i get chills constantly
Brilliant analysis. I enjoyed this very much. Sydnie is incredible. â€
What a voice!!!! Get it girl!!!
Beautifuly gifted. Reminds me a little to Shirley Bassy too.
I immediately thought of Shirley Bassey when I first heard her, and especially after hearing her version of My Way. Then I went and listened to Shirley Bassey sing My Way, and with all respect to Ms. Bassey, whose voice I love, but Sydnieâs version clobbers hers. IMHO at least. đ
I'm from Brazil đ§đ·
I love your technical comments, about singers and new voices appearing in the world.
In my opinion, this woman wins this edition of Got Talent, which Voz â€ïž
Love, Love, Love her. Get them recordings started Sydnie. You will make a fortune đđđ
Well done on "fable". Yea she's fantastic & loved your reaction & analysis. Loren preceded her on Bgt then on AGT with that version of over the rainbow & give her her blessing to nod to it having been through the experience the year previous. It's so lovely & I hope they collaborate. Also she gives credit to Annabel Williams I think is her last name the Bgt vocal coach academy with helping her achieve there. So that's why a vocal coach is great . The are is more hiberno English or brogue as some refer to it. It's in other words a softer Gaelic r sound likr errror....instead of awr or ehrh.the more English & Scottish r sound
OMG, Why did she need to come on AGT to be found? SO GOOD, and she's so genuinely likable.
She is so Streisand. Those tonal changes remind me of Make it Like a Memory. Brilliant.
Honestly, there's so much more from the Britain's Got Talent vault that you'll love! Tom Ball is another.
Love watching her!
You're the first reactor I've seen who mentioned the "singing on the consonants" like Frank Sinatra/swing style. So right!
Sydnie said in an interview that she was so proud of this "My Way" performance because she had worked so hard/long on it to make it her own. And she did!
Thanks for all your insights.
I love your analysis! I've seen dozens of reactions but you are the first to really explain why I love Sydnie singing these songs so much! I hear Shirley Bassey (Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever) in My Way. Brassy, belty, powerful! She reminds me of Barbra Streisand, too. Thank you for your insight!
đLikewise! Same thoughts about Barbra, too! Maybe the Yentl song âPapa can you hear me?â Thank YOU BETH, for putting your genuinely honest reaction - so, we did not just imagine the magic & effect of the gift in her personality & vocals! â€â€â€
Thank you...I really enjoyed watching Sydnie with you.
I'm so glad!
What a voice what a singer here me up Sydnie just be your self you gonna be a legend one day like Enya i said before .
I had the EXACT same thought about how it has a "Greatest Showman" feel. To the point I was trying to remember where this was sung on the show.
First time I've seen your channel but am obsessed with this version. Love how you break this down. New subscriber here
Awesome! Thank you!
Diosssssss que hermosa voz que hermosa canciĂłn que hermosa cantante que hermosa reacciĂłn que hermosa coach el vĂdeo lo tiene todo đđđđđđđđ bien Beth đđđđ mi H Prrj đđ
WOW! Just WOW! Besides having an absolutely beautiful voice...she gets that buzzer thing for her expressionism alone. Don't watch much tv...sorry. Her talent is soo superior!
Loved your reaction! Iâve just subscribed! â€ïž
Thanks for subbing!
Dynamics and Phrasing is an art form. It's what made Ethel Merman and so many other dynamic singers famous. Liza Minelli learned it from her mother.
She did say she has a vocal coach who elevated her skills and she is going to spend most of her winnings on more lessons. I would also like to know how much she has to do with the arrangements of the songs she sings. It is obvious she has custom arrangements. Also, how can you watch the My Way performance and not comment on the staging? Again, I wonder how much she inputs to these style decisions.
Beth, you do the BEST reactions. Your technical observations are without peer.
I don't even like Broadway music and Sydnie absolutely floored me. I mean chills, goosebumps.... She's a generational talent and my wife and I will pay to go see her live, for sure! And she's sooo down to earth and sweet to top it off. Superstar!
Lovely review. I know nothing about singing but enjoyed your comments!
When Sydnie hits the West End, heavy crowd control required. She is an entertainer. Thank you for a very instructive video, explaining the why and what we are hearing.
YEAH SHE GOT YOU!! đȘđȘ
First time watching your channel, you have the most beautiful hair.
Beth, I quite like your style of analysis....I really like smart people. I love how you infuse your personality into your various takes. Also, I'm sorta crushin' on you and you are adorable.
Please review her audition..'tomorrow'...love your reviews
I watch these over and over again and always pick up on new things. You commented about Syd and Somewhere Over the Rainbow has "The Greatest Showman" qualities. One thing I know is that Syd's top idol is Loren Allred so I would bet she adds that in there for sure and Syd wants to do a collaboration with her. Can you imagine. OMG
She isn't real--she's been dropped amongst us with a God-given gift--WOW!
I love the choice of using Izzy's melody in there. His version is my happy place.
The biggest star is born đ
The âSomewhere Over The Rainbowâ performance is the Loren Allred arrangement from AGT
It's actually Lauren Allred's version of Over the Rainbow â„
not any more
She is exquisite!
Wow! nuff said.
She has some of the same qualities as Barbra Streisand, but she belts more. Every note sounds intentional in volume and intensity. So much control!
Check out Sydney's first song she got a gold buzzer on. The song is Tomorrow...it will bring a tear to your eye...very beautiful!
I cry every single time in My Way!
Yes it is Loren Allred's version of Somewhere..
Sydnie said this is Lauren Allreds version, which explains The Greatest Showman vibes.
Yes. I've said many times she sounds like Judy Garland and Liza Minelli. I love her voice so much!
On her first visit to the Royal Variety Performance she will simply be one of the acts. But I have little doubt that on her second visit she will be the top of the bill. What a voice.
Apart from the top class singing, she is an entertainer. Now she has the spotlight surely a great career awaits.
She reminds me of a cross between Whitney Houston and Shirley Bassey. What a voice is right! I hope she goes far with it!
It probably should remind you of the greatest showman since the original version of this song was sung by the same singerâŠ. Was approached by producers, got the ok from Loren Allred to do the song⊠and now Loren says itâs both of their songâŠa nd they should do a duet together.. so, good ear⊠but of course you have a good ear⊠I also learned some about singing due to your explanations⊠which is so cool.
I grew up In the 70s and 80s with Rock and Heavy Metal. But my weakness is Women like Whitney Houston, CĂ©line Deione These Beautiful voices just fill my Heart and that is what Sydnie Does. I have to watch these by myself I'm a sobbing mess đđąâ€đ
I had to come here because you jumped into my mind, I was looking for reaction videos on Newton Faulkner - Dream Catch Me acoustic version. I couldnt find any and then I looked up Newton Faulkner rections and found about a handful and I was confused why this amazing singer had little reactions. If you find time can you look up his videos and see if you want to cover him.
She's a great singer. I cah hear a lot of Celine Dion influence, but she certainly puts her own spin on it. And I loved the nod to the Bruddah Iz version.
It's crazy but Sydnie's voice has matured BEAUTIFULLY vs years younger. I watched earlier videos on u tube of her. She sounds so much better now, OMG. Not sure but she just looks and sounds better at 28 vs 23 years of age which many of her you tube downloads are. It's like shes been coached.
Superstar in the making
Hi Beth. Sydnie is the whole package. Starlight Express was actually in Germany. Her cruise ship shows included Grease. Interesting that you referenced Never Enough in The Greatest Showman, as the original singer of Never Enough, Loren Allred, is the 1 who put this version of Over The Rainbow together earlier this year. If you go back to Sydnieâs audition, this song plays in the background after she sings Tomorrow.
Welcome back, wisenheimer lawrence... I already was concerned that you were ill or something (well, I'm sure you ARE actually...) But now you are back spreading your amazing BS all over the internet...
Name 1 thing I said that is BS, jerk.
@@Blueridge1961wow!!! What he just wrote is literally 100% correct. A little bit harsh I think.
@@AdamLeigh-vl2jr Welcome Wisenheimer no. 2... I know that it's correct, but that's not a reason to write it under literally EACH and EVERY Sydnie Christmas video...
@@Blueridge1961 you know me so well and weâve only just met
I'd pay good money to hear that woman sing the phone book.
Sydnie actually did the Loren Allred version of Rainbow. đ
Have an album of Sydnie
Are you going to walk us through her version of "Tomorrow"? Please?
She becomes famous after her first song.
