@@seantds619 we aren’t used to hearing Mario speak for long periods of time, it’s always does short 1-3 word exclaims. I feel like we would get tired of hearing a high-pitched Italian guy for an hour. I love Chris Pratt in this.

There needs to be more "SHUSHING". It's not a Nintendo NY Store Reaction video without the excessive shushing.
They absolutely nailed the casting for Kamek, Toad, and Bowser in this teaser trailer. But love how it went from excitement to hearing Bowser...to laughter and confusion when Mario spoke. I know people don't like Chris's Mario voice but the voice reminds me of the legend Lou Albano and his Super Show. If you can't perfect Martinet's voice, doing a Brooklyn accent like Lou is the next best thing.

It's still a little jarring because it just sounds like regular Chris Pratt at the moment, but I hope future trailers show off a bit more of a Brooklyn accent
I would have been annoyed quickly hearing the (original) over the top Mario voice for a full length movie. The choice for a “regular” voice for this makes much more sense to me.
The super show holds a special place in my heart, and I got the exact same vibes from hearing Mario's voice in this. I hope by the first official trailer that people's minds will change because I think Chris Pratt will do at least a decent job.
Mario is Fix-it Felix’s body with Emmet Brickowski’s voice, and tbh they couldn’t have made a better call.
I’m the one that did the “It’s a me Mario” and JonConBoyz chant in the crowd. And also to everyone that was saying how we were silent/disappointed at Mario’s voice, it was actually us staying silent so we could hear what Mario’s voice was gonna sound like. It was more on curiosity than disappointment
that was my thought, I knew you guys were trying too be silent too hear his voice (explains the shhhhh). I'll admit it, I thought the voice would be better, but it'll grow on me. I have faith that they choosen the right voices.

I have no problem with Mario's voice! I think some people don't know what to feel because they're not used to hearing Mario speak. I think Chris Pratt will do just fine. We haven't heard that many lines from him, so we should wait until the movie comes out before we can judge too hard.
@@sefh_c also, he's supposed to be a real guy coming from the city. He's not going to have some over the top jolly accent, at least not usually. He could do a little more to be distinct though. In the end, can you imagine being asked to voice one of the most iconic characters of all time!? It's like asking someone to voice Mickey freaking Mouse in the modern day. You have so many decades of precedent to either match, or convincingly change for a movie setting with millions of fans watching and waiting for you to screw up and give them something to laugh or be angry at. I hope the trailer cutting is an indication of redoing line reads before the movie comes out. Also it didn't help that Chris lookedand sounded half-asleep in his promo XD

was actually a ton of fun being here, as somebody who’s watched these videos for like 6 or 7 years now it was crazy stumbling into one completely on accident. Trailer was hype and it’s great seeing all these people come together to be excited about trailers again. Thanks for capturing all the memories man, awesome actually seeing the person behind the camera too haha.
Obscure Mario fun fact: Mario's nemesis was supposed to be an ox. Miyamoto originally envisioned an ox being Mario's biggest enemy after being influenced by an animated cartoon called Alakazam the Great. However, fellow designer Takashi Tezuka thought the ox character's drawings looked more like a turtle. After that, the two worked together to iron out a nefarious turtle-like Koopa leader who would go on to become Bowser

But the adjective form means something unclear or unknown. So, saying this fact is obscure is the same as saying it is unclear or unknown.
This movie can easily become the best movie based on a video game alongside the two Sonics, Detective Pikachu, Angry Birds and Silent Hill, but with all this beauty it could surpass them all.

The animation more than makes up for Pratt’s Mario voice. Hopefully we get to hear more of it in the next trailer.
the voice wasn't what I expected, but it will grow on me. I like Chris Pratt anyways and I have faith that both Nintendo and illuminations choosen the right voice actors. Jack black's voice is perfect as bowser in my opinion

My guess is they're trying to give mario the voice similar to what he had in the original story where he's a plumber from Brooklyn, which is why he doesn't sound like a full on high pitched Italian.

This movie has the potential to put Universal over Disney. Think about all of the licenses Nintendo has Zelda, Pokemon etc Seemingly endless sequels, and worlds to explore. They are teaming up with Universal with film and theme parks. Universal's licenses with Nintendo's can really shake things up.

It was just hard to put a finger on Mario's voice with the few words he said. I've misjudged tons of voices in the past hearing them speak only a few words, so I'll give Chris' voice the benefit of the doubt until the whole movie is out, plus it looks gorgeous and f-ing awesome. Even if Chris Pratt doesn't deliver, still incredibly excited for Charlie Day and Jack Black

It’s funny that people are complaining about Pratt’s Mario voice when Bowser sounds exactly like Jack Black, but nobody cares about that.
Bowser’s first line I though “Oh, I can’t even tell Jack is voicing him.” But then in that last scene where Bowser has that starman it’s just Black’s voice.
I think it all looks great and I don’t mind the voice. As long as the movie is good and looks nice (which it does from what we’ve seen) I think this will be fantastic. At the very least it’s not a stupid live action mix where we have James Marsden running around with Mario.
I heavily agree with you. The voices are fine. Plus, we haven't heard that many lines yet, so we shouldn't criticize it so hard when the movie hasn't even come out yet. I'm also very happy with the approach they're taking with this movie. I was getting tired of the whole "video game world meets real world" schtick. It's such a breath of fresh air. This movie looks VERY promising.

Chris don’t fit AND it’s just his normal voice with a accent that doesn’t exist. Like he was inspired by After Earth or something.

Nintendo game make so many movies based on the games alone. Like a galaxy movie, mario party movie, ssbu movie, mario kart, haunted mansion movie. the sky is the limit for this franchise. This possibly might be the first time I'm happy for a long movie

The atmosphere and visuals are 10/10 actually I think pretty much everything is perfect.
I think that Mario himself looks great especially in the shot where toad running in front of him with the backpack he looks spot on.
Although I wonder how Chris Pratt feels now that he absolutely bombed during that Nintendo Direct and pissed off the entire Mario fan base in the timespan of just 15 minutes...
One thing I can say for certain is no matter how subjectively bad Chris Pratt's Brooklyn accent ends up being it cannot take anything away from this absolute spectacle that Nintendo and illumination have given us Jack Black is phenomenal as always and honestly I don't think the voice is that bad.
When he said "what is this place?" It sounded great but when he said "Mushroom Kingdome here we come!" It wasn't nearly as solid.
Props to him for trying to nail a new take on the voice of the most infamous icon of video game history not easy to deliver on that.
