Yeah, the commercials had me worried that it would just be some cringe movie with Mario characters slapped in there, but it’s actually pretty decent.
Hearing people cheer so much for Yoshi at the end makes me tear up 🥹
@KDJewl3 I think Ke Huy Quan should voice Yoshi in the sequel in my opinion.
i've never smiled so much in a movie before, no matter it's flaws, i'll always love this movie from the bottom of my heart.
So real, I’ve never wanted to rewatch a movie immediately after finishing it the first time like this one, it was a lot of fun.
Same here. This movie allowed me to escape my pathetic existence with over a dozen medical conditions even just for its running time. Haven't left my house other than a trip to the hospital since October 2022 and this movie had a cheesy grin on my face for the entirety of the movie
We basically have the biggest middle finger to them critics by making this movie a huge success

My nephew is a HUGE Mario fan but he was diagnosed with autism and loud noises scare him a bit, so we waited until the movie came out digitally to watch and he is obsessed and watches it almost everyday! My heart swells and tears well up in my eyes seeing his face light up every time he watches and how he excitedly yells “There’s Yoshi” at the end of the movie! This movie is so special for me, thank you for posting the reactions since I didn’t get a chance to experience it in the theater, but I wouldn’t change a thing about how I got to experience my first time watching❤️❤️

South Carolina must be full of very boring people (which it is) and I'm thankful for that, but I would like to be in an audience like that once.

Either that or a really gruff voice actor. Cause the trope of characters looking cute but actually having a deep, badass sounding voice is a favorite of mine. Think of Ducky from Toy Story 4. XD

I love how they genuine their excitement sounds, from Mario bashing blocks, to DK grabbing the fire flower.
You can ever hear some of the people cheer for Mario grabbing the Tanooki Leaf, I love it. I love it all!

Debatable. You have to put it up against Puss in Boots. I've never watched it but people said that Puss in Boots was phenomenal.
@KSonic28 It came out in December 21st 2022a and would be still in cinemas in the beginning of 2023. So it still counts for this year.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie undoubtedly has it's problems such as Chris Pratt's voice acting of Mario being inconsistent and the terrible use of modern day music instead of one's from the games, but the animation is really good, has a simple yet fun plot, and was a big exciting movie event.
Chris Pratt did a great job though
A lot of the music was from the 80s

It was inconsistent in that sometimes you can tell it was Pratt and sometimes It sounded really good.
Not too big an issue for his real voice to leak in a bit at times. I’m glad it was mostly good

It’s crazy, Detective Pikachu, Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario are things I didn’t think would work and they work. They’re good video game movies!
