Is this the best value for money package out there? After a week or so of research I decided on the Sheng Milo MX-02s Electric Mountain bike for my first E-Bike. In this video I unbox, find a faulty charger but a very impressive e-bike. These are my first impressions on packaging, general fit and finish and how is suits a tall human :-)

I have this bike. The bike needs these replaced IMO: better pedals, comfy seat, better handlebars, correct stem and a real kickstand. I have 150 miles on mine, mostly dirt on the tires I replaced with Kendra. Juggernaut Pro 26 x 4.5 tires and Tuffy liners at 8 to 10 psi. So far zero issues or problems No one will tell you this but this is important!!!!! There is no interface between the motor and braking!!!! This could be hazardous to your health. A lot of Ebikes incorporate brakes that cut motor power when applied, this bike does not do this. Not a big issue until you accidentally twist the throttle while braking down a real step hill.
Thanks for comment Rick. I have replaced my seat post and I will be replacing the pedals which I have on order. So far I’m happy with the handlebars but the seat might go at some stage although so far so good.
I must check your findings on the relationship between using the brakes and the motor, I have not experienced that yet.
Hmm, the braking issue...that's worrisome. I've been looking at lot at controllers the past few weeks and I don't recall seeing one that didn't have brake cables.
I'm worried about that controller and stand over height. I'm just shy of 6 ft tall and have another bike with there's really not enough clearance when standing off the seat with feet on the ground. With a controller in that area there'd be even less, but I don't know the dimensions of this bike.
I saw on another site the battery is a 13S 4P...with a 17Ah rating that means the cells would have to have 4250 mah capacity. That's really good for an 18650 cell, assuming that's what they're using, and I kind of don't believe that.
@@edwardwaldrep7727 You're right about the brakes. It's possible to apply power to the motor when using the brakes. But I have to say that the brakes are more powerfull than the motor so you can't move when the brakes are applied.
The battery is a 13s configeration and I count 65 cells = 5p. In my battery they used blue Eve cells with 2550mAh capacity. In 5p it means a 12,75Ah battery instead of the 17,4Ah they put on the label... The good thing about the battery is the use of a bms inside.
For the information, my bike was ordered from another seller on Aliexpress and not the same seller as Sylvester, but the same brand and model bike.
I do not have this bike but in the controller options you can turn on the option how the engine should behave when the brake is pressed. The same goes for the speed lever, and you can set it not to work if you're not pedaling
EDIT:The controller is probably the Kt-lcd series on the Internet, the instruction is the same for the entire series of these displays
I got one of these last year. Brilliant bike. I even pull a small trailer with 80kg in it ( chicken food) sometimes. It goes anywhere and the battery is good.
Nice one Sylvester! I'll have to get a go on this bike some day! Good informative video too, nicely done.
Anytime sir and thank you for the nice comment 👍
Just getting used to mine. So far I've done a round trip of 17 miles. Not too bad for a 68 year old bloke who hasn't been on a bike for over 10 years. I used ped assist usually 2 or 3. Charges up hills and there are some hills around here An amazing machine but I have just bought a Zoom suspension seat tube Mine slightly different spec. It's blue for a start, 7 gears and different pedals. Very pleased with it.
Did it come with a throttle installed or it is that something you have to do? Any complaints after a month Kevin?
Good luck Sylvester hopefully see you soon out on the road enjoy
See you soon!
I hope i will get my very soon, i am saving money for it dedicated.

Cysum or richbit produce very similar bike M900.
Just taken delivery and v happy with it. Same 1000W 48v 17.4ah battery/motor but has some extra 'bells/whistles' - also has the power cutoff when you brake
06/03/2022 mine is due to arrive 2moro direct from China to the UK. Delivery has taken 7 days. Cost was £1200 (only 1 battery) with an extra £37.00 in import charges. Really impressed. Hopefully the bike will be just as impressive.
Have bought lots of hi end audio equipment from China and the quality is simply amazing
Hi where did you find it at that price ? Cheapest I’m finding is £1500
@@scott24899 Prices have generally gone up since the all the shit going on. You may find a really good deal depending what affiliate site you source from if you lucky, But £1500 is the cheapest going rate for this bike at the moment (direct from china). Other middle-man suppliers closer to home sell it for 17/1800 if you want it a lot quicker (Not worth it, But some people do).
Nice review. Why did you chose this before the MX03?
I'm as tall as you and having the same issue that it might be to small (I've seen your mod video)
The MX03 was not available for several more months when I bought this the MX02. I also did not need rear suspension.
Just ordered one of these on the strength of your review.

Do you happen to know how to factory reset the M5 controller?
I just got my bike and set the speed limiter to 25km/h, from factory it was on 100. Now it goes to 45km/h maximum and i can't set it back to 100.
Thankyou.

Hi, guy's yes just got delivery of this bike absolutely cracking packaging,, chuffed to bit's,,I'm not overly convinced with the rear wheel arch to rack connection really needs a clip system not sticky tape,,all well going together well.
Hi Michael I drilled 2 holes in the plastic mudguard and used a black cable tie to secure it to the rack 👍
Great video Slyvester
Many thanks Brian. I'll post another update in the coming days covering some small changes I am making.
@@sylvesterhiemstra4002 Sylvester did you get a replacement battery charger and or are you considering buying a better battery charger.

@@Nilussecondi the seller sent out a new charger they said but I ordered a charger on Amazon myself on Friday which came on Monday. It's clearly a more solid and better charger. I will use the one the seller sent out as a 'spare' or keep it at our caravan. Hi can you tell me what's that box under your seat
For those looking to get on this particular model of bike this summer you should really order now. Stocks are dwindling rapidly as cycling season is here and European stock levels are reported to be low. Once the current stock is sold out new stock will not arrive in to European warehouses till the end of July. Most resellers now also charge shipping fees as shipping to Ireland is now more expensive with resellers having to bypass the UK. Even with some added shipping costs I think this is still the best value out there and many have agreed
Your interesting review videos stopped a few months ago. I'm wondering if you're still as satisfied with the bike after all this time? I'm considering buying one, but can't find many reviews apart from yours! Hope you can shed some light on your experience with this bike after one year. Thanks a lot, greetings from a Limburger!
@@NoFe87 hi. Unfortunately I had to deal with a medical condition which had me in and out of hospital for a long time. Slowly getting back on my feet and more videos to come. My 18 year old son has been using the bike and it’s still in great condition. No battery degradation as far as we can tell and everything working fine.
Hi mate
Nice review, thanx for that 👍 can you say something about the assistance? Is the bike helping you with the electric motor up to a certain speed, or is it more like driving a scooter? Like you have got to pretend that you are cranking the pedals and the bike will do the rest? You know there are different types of assistance. Those kind of bikes which just help you and the bikes where you set just the speed and the bike is doing the rest.
Thanx for your answer in advance
Greets
Dennis
Hi Dennis, you have both options. The bike has 5 levels of pedal assist which each assist you up to a certain speed level, you can basically decide yourself how much effort you put in and when your speed reduces because you are getting tired or are trying to scale a hill the motor comes in. The 'power' display will show how many amps you are drawing at any given time. That's the way I use mine. You can also put the bike in pedal assist 5 and twist the throttle and it will act like an electric moped...the choice is yours really
Perfect answer
Thanx mate 👍👍👍
Very impressed wow. Looks way ahead of the rad rover. Gosh your accent is confusing, sometimes you sound like your the guy down the road 🙂👏
Hi when the bike goes into pedal assist 12345 does the Throttle stay on. Also is there anyone from the UK who has bought this bike can tell me if the UK charged any duties from UPS (several months later)
Hi Dean , yes the throttle is available in PAS as in you can grab the throttle and even engage Cruise Control. I'm not sure on the question about being charged Tax etc when importing it in to the UK. Maybe someone else can answer that question. I would imagine if you bought one after Brexit that you would get hit with duties etc
Can you set up a speed limiter for the bike to go 25 and when you are alone 35 km/h btw
Hi.I'm looking at one of these bikes now on ebay. The seller is based in Poland but the description reads shipped from Belgium. I'm 63 with arthritis in both knees do you think this will help me. Paul
Great video, it says 20psi on the tire, however I would like a stiffer tire, in your video you said you put 30psi in the tire, how has that been? and does your tire say 20psi on it ?
Hi Steve thank you! Just went and double checked but my tires say inflate to 30 psi which I find very comfortable on tarmac roads and it reduces roll resistance as well so extends battery life
My tires say 20 psi. What brand tires did your bike come with? I got Chao Yang on it.
Has anyone in UK bought this or the MX03 from aliexpress since Brexit? Just wondering what customs/vat fees you had to pay on top of the price?
I know of a gentleman in Northern Ireland who purchased that bike but he used a delivery address in Ireland and collected it in person. Obviously not an option if you are based on mainland UK.
Do you know the size of the fork and handlebar stem I want to buy ariser thx

Thanks for your videos I'm checking out a lot of videos of this bike at the moment i'm considering getting this bike I already have a 350 watt e bike and it doesn't do the job for me Will this bike be able to handle hills if you stop pedaling for any reason and just use throttle like for me phantom pain can mean I have to stop pedaling can this bike handle steep hills just using the throttle ?
It will depend on how steep and long the climb is and of course your body weight as it needs to drag that uphill along with the bike. I'm tall and heavy and found that I do need to provide some assistance on the steepest of hills but only very little. Let's say that I would not turn round for any hill at the moment. Hope that helps
Another reviewer ( Michael kinsella) has dine some serious testing on this bike and others comparing them in what he calls “road wars” and he claims the MX02 does not notice hills and compared to his delfast 3000w 72 v bike the MX02 is every bit as good has a better range and while not as fast for top speed as the delfast is better overall and only 25% of the price.
@@patomahony9747 I’ve seen all Michael’s videos as mentioned in my first review and he likes making ‘bold’ statements but then the hills where he is are clearly not the same as the hill of Donegal 👍 I can make it up the steepest of hills but not without some peddling on the steepest climbs. A 1000 watt motor can never be as powerful as a 3000 watt motor. Michael has a different purpose for his bikes than me and it’s nice to see that with small changes the bike fits so many purposes and needs.
@@sylvesterhiemstra4002 I live in Devon hills can be a problem I push my 350 watt e-bike so far the LCD screen pop twice now but I'm glad I found videos online talking about e-bikes and AliExpress because I found my LCD screen for just £12 when the company that sold me my e-bike sell them for £45.and also my ebike breaking means I get to learn how to fix it so I guess that's a bonus
@@sylvesterhiemstra4002 I agree without doubt the pure power of the 3000w will not be beaten by 1000w on a steep hill and yes from videos no crazy hill in Michael’s immediate area. Point I was trying to make is 1500 euro 1000w bike is nearly as good as the 6500 euro (roughly current price for a new delfast)of the 3000w bike. Delfast like a Ferrari high power, faster 0 to 60 but like a Ferrari if you use this power a fuel tanker on tow behind is required.
The hill to my home is approx 400 m with a hairpin in the middle. Over this distance the ground rises around 30 m. Most of this rise in elevation is on the final 210 m from the hairpin. Cork is built on hills

hi is the front brake lever on the right hand side or left side ???
On the right 👍
I unboxed my bike today and charged it up. Noticed that I have a "E 008" on my screen flashing. Called the company and they said check all the connections, which I did, and still have this error code. The throttle works great so cant figure out how to fix. Trying to avoid boxing back up and returning. Suggestions?
Kerry .. London Ontario, Canada
Hi Kerry, I have no idea to be honest. Did you try a quick internet search on the error code?
Found this on a forum; So, if any of you have an E 008 error, trace your cables down from the handle bars. Look for the quick-disconnect plugs and make sure they are seated properly. Note: do not twist any of these connections. They will break. Just orient them according to the markings and plug them together straight in.
@Joomar Ebike store your comment has disappeared but feel free to use my video 👍 any bikes you want me to review let me know
What's the range for a single battery on average if I go 20/25mph all the time?
Never tried that but all depends on your weight and height, flat road or hills, against the wind or with it etc. As that is close to top speed unassisted you might get 20 miles or so
M vr gr Sylvester

Hi buddy I just reviewed this bike for fun. Look at the description of some of the other videos for buying links on AliExpress.
I just ordered one of these, i think ShengMilo has abandoned the front derailleur, meaning it now has only 7 gears.
I am therefore thankful for your close-up of the front gear system,
looks like a Saiguan 42 t shifter with a 3x Prowheel drive, maybe 24-34-42 teeth ?,
i think it should be possible to install myself for 100-150 Euro, only need to find the parts that fit properly,
correct mm on crank width/diameter and correct distance derailleur frame to chain. I guess maybe the seller could help.
But i wonder why they quit using the 3x front ? Have you had any problems with it ? I have steep hills here too, i want more gears.
I’m not sure why they dropped the front derailleur to be honest but swapping it should not be a big issue if you are handy with a few spanner’s. I think not too many people use these on hills and off road and thus requiring the smaller gears. The motor is very powerful and I think I hardly drop down to the smaller front sprockets. I would simply use it if I were you and decide then wether you require a derailleur upgrade
@@sylvesterhiemstra4002 Thx, i will of course test it first, before doing anything. I anyways need it here, to be able to figure out what parts could fit.

Hi Mike I watched the review by a Dutch guy of the Richbit but wasn’t overly impressed. I’m not familiar with the other bike you mention but I will check it out shortly
Hi Mike on first view the Cysum looks OK if you need full suspension. For me personally it’s not required so I’d still prefer the MX02S with front suspension only which I lock anyway on tarmac etc. Only when things get really rough I tend to unlock the front suspension but I find it zaps a lot of energy from the rider and the battery. The M900 also has a single ring at the front and I like having the 3 sprocket setup on the MX02s as I am dealing with some steep inclines here in Donegal. The Cysum is around 1700 Euro where you can get the MX02S for 1450 with 2 batteries. Just a battery would set you back nearly 300 Euro. But if you like the look of the Cysum and it’s in your budget go for it

With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
Is it a Baganda motor? What brand are the batteries?
Bafang!
Nice review. Too bad about the charger... Pedal!
Is it me or are there no Michael Kinsella videos on this bike? Like mentioned.
Michael passed away last year.
Is the rear rack removable
Yes
Just got mine off amazon as a commuter / weekend fun bike how long does the battery last would be good to now :)
All depends how much you contribute yourself…I found battery life excellent even after sitting unused in a very cold garage for weeks
@@sylvesterhiemstra4002 i have a question can you change the battery power to a percentage ?
@@FattyOn2Wheels I am not aware that you can. I’ve not seen the option in any of the menus either.
@@sylvesterhiemstra4002 ive contacted them to find out will tell you if you i find out mate
@@FattyOn2Wheels Shengmilo contacted me recently. I will soon be able to post official buying links etc. It will also make it easier to get more info 👍
What about spare parts are they available on Amazon
I’m not sure, never looked in to that. Most are straight forward bicycle components
Hello good video what’s the price for this bike ?
At the moment you can get this with 2 batteries at around 1475.00 Euro depending on where you are there could be some shipping costs. The batteries only cost around 275 Euro so it's a good deal with 2 batteries included
Can you put a link of where you ordered this from?
Will ad a link shortly

US $1,860.00 - 2080-18%
Also can you please tell me what your max speed was on the bike and do you know if the 1000w they claim is sustained or peak?
@@gamepoint8641 if you are based on the US pricing will be different I guess. Is that where you are based? At this moment in time I do not know if it's peak or sustained. My guess is sustained based on size of motor. You could always contact the seller on AliExpress and ask the question.
Kitne ki hai khaha se kharide
Is it still working condition?
Hi yes it is no issues at all
brother, is it really 1000 RUNNING watts or PEAK watts?
I’m not sure to be honest. I will put the question to the manufacturer and see what they say 👍

All depends on where in the world you are based. In Ireland we can buy it at 1399.00 Euro from Shengmilo direct
The nightmare starts when you have to change the tire miles away from home.
That’s why many choose to take preventive measures like using slime or tyre liners. The big tyres are difficult to change alright
Looks like the Cyrusher but cheaper priced.
It looks a lot like it. The Gunai and Joomar are exactly the same. The Cyrusher is foldable though isn’t it?
@@sylvesterhiemstra4002 only some are foldable i just ordered a smlro bike for $1200 1000 watt 48 volt batterie very similar to this bike....👍👍
@@jscott4613 good man best of luck with it 👍 it was a bike I was interested in as well but it said it doesn't suit someone my height

As an additional comment I think the legislators who set the limits on the power output of e-bikes obviously aren't the ones who ride them. I live in a hilly area and 250 Watts just wouldn't cut it. Surely the sensible way to limit e-bikes is on the cut out speed not the power output. I guess the problem is how do you police it?
Hi Duane I totally agree with you. A 250 watt bike would be completely useless for me as well. these bikes are limited to 26 Kmh out of the box but a 3 year old can sort that if that way inclined. I'm also not really interested in max speed. I am happy to peddle along in PAS 2 or 3 and cruise at 30 KmH all day long without drawing any unwanted attention
Thinking they should settle it same way as cars and trucks. So what if your car has a 20 litre v12 and mine is 800cc. They can only be driven sensibly at posted speed limits. Should do same for ebike but thinking lobbying from car industry, insurance company’s and other vested interests in sucking mone out of our pockets want to make it difficult for us to join this new green revolution. Even people taking to ordinary pushbikes led to a proposal from some “silly” Irish politicians that the ordinary push bike should be registered and require tax and insurance to cycle on the roads. Wonder who put that idea in their heads ????
@@patomahony9747 I agree Pat. I think common sense should prevail. A 250 watt Ebike would be an absolute waste for me up here. That doesn’t mean that I need to do 50kmh on my 1000 watt bike without peddling shouting woohoo down the Main Street drawing the wrong attention. If they want to limit the speed so be it, but don’t limit the wattage to 250 watt which is only of use on a flat road. The electric motor on an Ebike should assist the rider and it was never originally supposed to be an electric scooter…not for the law anyway
Is it good bike? 🤔🤗
It has been a good bike for me 👍

Hello please check the costs for where you live on Shengmilo factory website

I don’t sell these my friend. You will need to check online what they sell for at the moment on AliExpress for example 👍
But 1 youtuber is saying this is a fake site this is right or not
@@falak9581 AliExpress is not a fake site. Look for sellers with a large number of bikes sold and with positive feedback
After watching several videos and comments, its clear, there are some risks on buying this ebike mainly because of the support.
Return it to china due to warranty, its a pain. You might get it with defective parts, so if you don´t a have a store that can support you, you are on your own.
I am enthusiastic about it, hope there will a strong community to help, i will keep my eye on it, but for the moment i will not buy it
I’ve had parts shipped to me for a different bike by the reseller which took about 3 weeks. It’s a bike so not much to go wrong really unless you start messing with the controller and battery etc. Anything that goes wrong normally is replaced within the warranty period.
Yeah, the factory will "try" to assist you, but all in all they want video of everything. Mine came with rear disc brakes not working so sent me new lever, cable, etc. Then told me to put it on and sent a video they made in the factory that night. (big pain in a$$) but got it done. Make sure to buy the "special tool" to tighten the seat because it will get loose and no Allen keys will keep it tight trust me. Highly suggest you get bottle of FLAT OUT from Home Depot because the smallest sharp object will puncture the tire. I'm kicking myself in the butt for not keeping my box so I would make sure you keep your box for at least probably 2 to 3 months. Because I've had nothing but problems with this bike and if I could ship it back I most certainly would pay for that shipping to go back but luckily I bought the insurance on eBay so something else starts to go on this bike I'm about done with it biggest mistake of my life. I should have went with the ecotric pelican one or whatever it was.
