  • These are better then the basement grade ones that come with cheap welders, the cast brass clamp is a copy of the Hobart T-Series and is pretty good but may not be the best choice over the simple clamp as it has a little less pressure on thin material and can break if dropped repeatedly or if it is dropped from heights.

Great review I've been welding over 50 years and with the larger clamp its great if welding at a table all the time and the smaller one is better if you're going from place to place

One thing about the braided copper jumper part - some time ago I was welding larger round pipe and the ground clamp barely fit over it, the copper part was touching the metal and recently I noticed that during that time it had burned up some of that copper. I think in that kind of situation it conducts better than the clamp itself but it's not a tight connection at all so it arcs over this part in particular and can ruin it quite quickly

I have a jumper cable end on mine. I find it works better than all the ones I could buy in store.

We used severe duty jumper cable clamps because they hold far better..

What welder did you pick up and will you feature the welder in a future video? I've been thinking about getting a welder myself.

brass has fairly poor conductivity....most of these are actually made w/cast copper alloy which also looks a bit yellow but has a redder tint; closer to orange. Helps against shattering too. Honestly those stamped clamps if you replace the copper plated steel parts w/copper pipe will likely have better conductivity.

I replaced mine with that Hobart style. Don't like it. It's clumsy and seems to want to slip off. To each their own, I guess.

Don't electrocute yourself. Welding can be dangerous
