Guo Jing Ming as a director has been quite condemned in the industry due to his multiple plagiarism and his disregard for IP. It took him 15 years to apologise to one notable author. And the reason was pressure from the Chinese Gov. His career is quite over.
I have watched this movie 5 times in the span of 3 days. I absolutely love their story that goes from “I want to kill you” to “I’d gladly be your Spirit Guardian”. It warms my heart to see that this movie is being appreciated for the phenomenal acting. Their characters have such an amazing dynamic!
I've watched it three times and you are so right! Also...When Qingming can't do a protection array, but then does the Array of All Arrays to protect Boya at the end... The whole thing was amazing.

This movie is so damn good that i wish it was longer. Good eye candy visual actors, smooth/agile/perfect martial art and perfect cinematography. Ahh i want more.

When the movie ended, my first thought was -" Well that was a good love story", before I remembered that neither of the 2 main leads was a female! Your video felt like a movie in itself! Nice edit. I completely agree with you, it was indeed a delightful movie!
I've watched a lot of movies, beyond what I can count. But I have never come across like this, I have been incredibly addicted and have watched it for the third time, they have created a really great movie. I couldn't get enough of watching it and I will watch it again. I recommend everyone to watch.
Me and my sister watched this movie at 7 in the morning before going on a walk with our husky Roscoe. She said, “I honestly ship Boya and Qingming.” And I’m like, “Sis, same.” The acting, underlying relationship of the characters, Qingming’s care and intelligence, this movie was perfect and we recommended to our mother. I can’t believe this wasn’t a BL, I was lowkey thinking it was bc the night prior I watched Heaven’s Official Blessing. Overall I was super pleased with how this movie turned out.
For me,,the reason it was better was that the main characters had starred in two of my favorite costume dramas ' Ashes of love' had Deng Lun and ' Ten Miles Of Peach Blossom' had Mark Chao..🤩🤩🤩🤓
These BL twist is absolutely amazing 👏. The fact that no touchy-touchy is needed to show their passionate deep affection for each other blows my mind. BOYA forever hot 🔥 and spicy, QINGMING forever tempting and eloquent.
FYI this movie has been a project for over a year (I think two or more I read) with Chinese and Japanese professionals. The results are as we all love :)

Chinese film industry struggle to make bl and dumb down to bromance but even that those actors able to potray 'boys love' with their eyes and lines. I knew this wasnt bl when i watched it but cant help noticing the 'tension' btwn 2 MLs.
