Hi Andy, thanks for another great video! A perfect follow on to the Lion! I was very interested in your comment about using a wet palette to keep the paint thin, please keep tips like this coming!
I really like the new Belial miniature, he looks great. I always wondered about that shoulder strap he has on his gun; I'm not clear as to how he manages to get that around his enormous shoulder guards but hey, Rule of Cool I guess. I enjoyed the painting tutorial, thank you kindly o7
Long time DA player here. Love to see them still getting the love they deserve from GW. I wish GW was better to their fans, I'd probably still be playing their games. A real shame too, the 40K universe is maybe the best sci-fi setting out there.
He does look very cool. I am excited for the fallen/inner circle dark angels Knights and what you might do with those. Hoping for a ravenwing video too.
I've never been able to successfully avoid wash pooling on space marine armor. It feels like there's a technique I'm missing; people always say "make sure there's no pooling" but there doesn't seem to be a ton of good information on how to actually accomplish that.
Work in sections, keep things moving and apply more than you need so you can cover the whole section in one go before you take the excess off. It does take practice though. Keep watching videos and watch the technique used and see if you're doing anything differently. If you have specific questions about it let me know!
Dark angels armor/cloth is super dark. But if you take it too bright you run the risk of the armor looking like salamander armor. When I paint it I take it too bright then smash it back down with an all over black wash of tamiya panel liner.
Awesome result. almost makes me wish I was collecting Dark Angels and not Blood Angels. I say almost as I find red easier to paint than green. Personally I like the dark cape as it helps the bone armour stand out more.
Love the simple technique for the armour, even if it does mean I'll have to actually be careful with base coats for a change 😂. I know you love a good transfer, I've always wondered if you could use them to break up the area of a large cloak, cape etc. Would it work or would all the folds make it too much of a nightmare to be worth it?
Looks great, man. I'm actually painting the old Belial model while I listen to this. And I have to say that I think that Dark Angels Green is one of the worst paints I have ever worked with. I generally love contrast, but not this one. Personally, I feel like bringing up those robes with brighter colors looks much better and adds depth.
Yeah it’s a weird one alright, the tone is great, just not the paint itself. I did a lot more work on The Lion’s cloak with making it brighter, maybe I’ll do the same with this guy!
Man I went out to buy a wet pallet yesterday at my local games store, no way I was paying 70$ for a wet pallet when I’ve been using a sandwich container for the last 5 years. So I left with belail instead, I thought this was a phenomenal model started building him last night got the lower half all glued together as soon as I dry fit that massive outter cape…. Chucked everything into my “work In progress bin” along with 300+ other models 😂😂😂
Dark Angels green really is a annoying paint over brighter colors, doesn't give that much contrast and it also tends to be quite goopy and tends too pool really easy. BUT it is actually good for something, and that is painting 1700s and 1800s jackets, capes, and other dark green fabrics, it's perfect for Napoleonic miniatures such as command squads or jaegers from from Württernberg or Hessen-Dramstadt. But in these cases you prime it grey, use Dark Angels, (very optional: layer with a dark green), and then highlight with Dark Angels mixed with a pale sand or light bone color. It's really nice for true 28mm scale army painting as well as RPG main character minis you might wanna put some effort in. The grey primer really helps hide the issues of Dark Angels green.
Great video as always! I’ll be using these steps for my own Belial. Looking forward to more Dark Angels videos soon!
Thanks man, glad you liked it!
Stunning result! Dish towel for the win lol! Cheers
Hahah can’t do much without a good dish towel.

Of course pal. I shall to to squeeze a few more comments in.

Hahhaha I can never I see that now lol.
I honestly think this is one of your best results 👌
Cheers pal.
11:06 this was something I needed I laughed so hard at this my day was horrible and this was one of the highlights😂😂😂😂
Thank you.
That’s really nice to read pal. Glad I could help.

I believe it is for sure the best sci-fi universe out there it’s so so big. Real shame you’re not involved anymore.
Nice job! I agree on the punch for the cloak
Yep for sure.
He does look very cool. I am excited for the fallen/inner circle dark angels Knights and what you might do with those. Hoping for a ravenwing video too.
Tempted to covert them to Templars lol.
I have to say the diversity from 40k was wonderful! Honestly I'd enjoy a longer break from it at some point.
Glad to hear that because I have no real intention of moving from the old world for quite some time lol.
Nice job Andy, never been much of a fan of the first but I do have to admit he’s a good looking mini.
He really is and like you I’ve never been to crazy on the dark angels.
At least you could play him as a regular space marines captain
True!
Hey great video. I really hope you make it to 100k
Thanks so much man, that’s really kind
we just want old world
Hahahhaa and it’s all I want to give. Just as king as the excitement keeps up and people keep watching I will be making videos for it.
I'd Be-lialing if I said that wasn't a good paint job.
Hahah to kind pal.

Interesting way of doing it, cheers for the idea!

Blood angels are better chapter any way. You made the rite choice.
@@MediocreHobbies Indeed I did. Though my stubbornness is more akin to Dorn, I have an artistic flare the screams Sanguinious.

No you can do it especially with micro sol and micro set. Just need to find the right transfer.

Hahah they can be expensive.
I would love to see you convert the dark angle terminator knights into black templars
I'm champing at the bit for new dark angels to turn into black templars!
They would look so so good.
Exactly

Well that’s cool to learn! Thank you for that 🙌
I converted my own new Belial to replace my Belialsander conversion but I'm totally copying your color layout.
Go for it pal.
What about trying to punch up the green cape to be like your green knight?
Not a bad idea.
nice
Cheers pal.
Who else was hearing the whiney TTS voice for Belial in their heads whilst watching this? Lol!
Hahhahaa
owh jeez.. no little hole in the gun barrels...? Thats a big nono!!
I’ve had this comment on so many videos. I will never drill the barrels lol. Ever.
He's a beautiful model but sense the Deathwing are the veterans best of the best in my opinion their armor should be black
No reason you can't do the armour black!
If I unsub and resubscribe, do I get entered into the titan giveaway twice?!
Hahahahah nice try.
