    Can we know God? If so, how? We can believe in God, but is such belief justified? How to apply the principles of epistemology to knowledge of God and belief in God? What would make belief in God justified true belief?

    Why is there a god?
    Robert needs to ask the #why question.

      Because there just HAS to be a god according to the rules he made up to justify beliefs he has due to his culture.

      When it comes to Theological Imaginations, the question "Why" is nonsensical because The Deity is - axiomatically - "Eternal" ...
      Eternal things don't have beginning and/or endings ... and The Question "Why" implies a Causal Precedent, Therefore, Temporal Notions that doesn't apply to Eternal Stuffs ...
      Of Course, Humans as Contingent Entities can think about The Origin of The linguistic tokens that deploy the Capacity in The environmental System for deploying "Abstract Instructions" and the implicit "imaginary space" and/or "memories about past, present, future, The Pass of Time and "Causal Order" ...
      Therefore, The Beliefs about Existence requiring an "Origin" ....
      The funny thing is that Existence doesn't require an Origin to Exist .... But Humans believe that there was a"Time were Humans doesn't exist" and There will be a chance of another Times where Humans "existed" or will not exist ...
      Then, we can observe How they tend to realize Anthropomorphic Models about Existence .... believing that Existence should be constrained by what they believe about themselves ....

    GOD has already revealed certain truths in His conversations with Neale Donald Walsch. If anyone wants to know a deeper, fuller, more advanced understanding of God and other spiritual truths, he/she better reads Conversations with God by Neale Walsch. But be prepared to have your mind shocked or be blown away since some of these truths are really hard to understand or accept.

    He keeps grouping all theistic religions together as "these traditions" and then unsurprisingly always ends up going back to Christianity. So close minded and simplistic. He's supposed to be this highly sophisticated theologian, but if that's the best religious people (let's face it, Christians) can offer, it's not compelling at all.

      you are just like ALL of us....... "as oily rags" in GOD's Presence..... another sinner....... you cant just tell someone their current or past religious affiliations are "a joke"....... THAT will get you "resistance".
      as a Christian, you ARE accountable to other Christians when you screw up...... you screwed up.
      You havent even tried to address the questions by the other posting viewers, you only asserted your beliefs upon them......

      @The Rod
      you are welcome, for my "restrained" comment.......
      Thank You, my Friend, for acknowledging its compassion !
      Jesus spoke in the Christian Bible on an occasion, documented in two places.....
      Matthew 22:36-40 New International Version (NIV)
      36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
      37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
      and
      Mark 12:30-31 New International Version (NIV)
      30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
      i would say this:
      if a person just starts by doing these 2 things.... the second thing is even more difficult than the first thing.
      but if you dont believe that GOD exists, Loving your neighbor or friends or family or Loving a total stranger and finding compassion for any of those people, would be impossible.
      humans on earth cannot "know the mind of GOD"...... and Time is not our ally, so act soon....................

    The more theologians explain about god, the more evident it is they are talking nonsense. And David Bently Hart is just about the most smug theologian I have heard talk about god.

    • @rumidude
      @rumidude Před 4 lety +1

      @Mustafa I don't think you understand what the word tantrum means.
      David Bentley Hart couches his nonsense in arcane language and slow soft patterns to give it the effect of profoundity, but it is nonsense nonetheless.

    • @1DangerMouse1
      @1DangerMouse1 Před 4 lety +2

      @@rumidude yeah he moved his lips and made a bunch of sounds with a very condescending tone. However, he didn't say anything of substance. He basically relies on a god of the gaps. Consciousness and qualia are mysterious. So, focus on a supposed experience of a god that is entirely private, ineffable, unknowable (except he claims to know a lot about it) and that you cannot examine scientifically (or even using critical thinking). That way, you can say whatever you want about it with no accountability.
