- Today I add to the chain saw fleet 2 new saws! A new 3120xp and the all new 562xp mark ll chain saws! The 3120xp was at a price I could not pass up and the new 562xp fills a void in the saws that we have and should be a great mid-size saw for us to have for tree jobs and for my aging old carcass!

562 is a good saw , 562 mark ll is a great saw ! I have one of each and think the mark ll does everything just a little bit better 👍🏻

Funny how people think what is a fast saw. Dad had a tree fall across his lane and needed help cutting it up. I took one of my 562xp saws to his house. He told me it was a fast cutting saw. So I guess my 562 is dad approved. Enjoy The Journey - Cheers

Great video. I like the comparisons. You could set that 5’bar on top of the wood pile, start her up and let it cut to the bottom. Quick bunch of rounds cut. 🤭🤭

I've had my 562xp for about 10 years,no problems at all and run the heck out of it,my go to saw all the time,for stumps and firewood

Neat video. The D-shaped starter handles usually are provided on the fire department roof saws so you don‘t have to take gloves off to start them. In my research if you run a decent oil minimum 40:1 on the 5 series and then gut the muffler after warranty you‘ll get good life out of them. Just listening to that 562 you can hear how restricted the exhaust is.

The big saws save on gym membership, it took me a few weeks before I was able to run the 592 for 8 tanks of gas in a day bucking large logs but I am getting old as well. One tank of gas in the 088 42" b&c is more than I want for a day I wonder if the 3120s are any lighter than the old Stihl?🤔 1%💩😁
THAT is not an all day saw..maybe a couple tanks...

The 3120 is also used by railroads for rail cutting. Also popular for Alaskan sawmills. Works great for stretching arms.

Hey Chris if you are up late reading the comments you might be able to see the northern lights if you stick your head out the window. We were able to see them in southern Ontario.
I was editing until 1:00am but I have seen them a lot before ....in ALASKA out in the wilderness... nothing will ever compete with that.

562xp MK II has much more than just new bearings. It’s basically a new saw. They only share a few parts from the previous generation.

I'd be running a good oil @32:1 if I were you, especially in the 5 series. I've always ran a good clean burning oil at 32:1 from the advice of my saw guy, who knows a thing or two.

I guess I believe and trust the manufacturer and the hundreds of engineers that develop a product over decades first. But that is just me.

@@InTheWoodyard The manufacturers know. It's the EPA that has their hands tied. Ask Scott about the bearing failures on the 5 series. He knows. Any good saw builder knows. Just tryin' to help ya out. Anyone that's been running saws for awhile has noticed that the motors are using less fuel and as a result oil now than they did back in the 90's. Strato charging makes it even worse as those motors likely are less lubricated at 32:1 than an older saw was running 50:1. Less fuel used = less oil for the same amount of work being done. From the builder who ported my saws. "I have several ported 5 series saws on a tree crew in Montana that have over 1000 hours on them running a heavier oil ratio and they’re fine. In fact, out of several hundred 5 series that I have ported, I have never had one come back for bearing issues. And that is because you guys are all running more oil". 50:1 is for emissions, not for saw longevity, period.

i have like a 2 year old but made in 2020 or 21 . i think its a hybrid to the 562 mark2. its a great saw, but doesnt really like frozen logs. i suspect that the chain speed is so high , it doesnt drop into the kerf fast enough. making it feels like its not cutting right. thats when you switch over to a stihl or a bigger saw with lower chain rpm. i really want to try the 572 .i'm about sold on switching brands completely. on a tornado clean up, we were running the 562 against a 362 stihl and the husky was out running the stihl, in warm wood.
looking at the front of the tooth, are they the same style, each type has a little different cut, some have a rounded side cut and others are 90° to the top
@@cobra-mn745 I tried the husky chain. I think it was c83. I switched everything over to the Stihl yellow link 3/8 . Which is square not rounded sides. 🍎 To 🍏

That cap you said wasnt original is the original if its 20yo saw, you can put your scrench around it aswell just not the screwdriver part of it, you use the big socket for that.

Looking at a 572 or a 562 for blocking logs what do you suggest
The correct answer is always one more so get both!😁 use the 562 if the logs avg less than 16" and the 572 16" and up.YMMV
My advice if you are getting only one.... buy both! Haaaa! If I had to choose one...572. But as I get older....I would be very happy with the 562.

Outside north America they sell a 560xp
Same saw as a 562 but a small bar mount pattern.

But they did sell a very small number of Johnson-reds in north America that are the equivalent of a 560
.
I think you'd get more use out of the old 3120 with a 32" bar.
Probably get it just about under 30lbs with a light bar.
But the reality is, its a darn big saw. And a 90cc saw works just as good on a 32" and far far lighter.

I scaled 200lbs lighter with the fuel then the wood. And the wood took up half the space the fuel did.
Didn't really want to miss the opportunity to save about $2 a gal.
It also allowed me to run the round trip from Wyoming to Indiana back to Wyoming on $3.45 E0 91
too cheap firewood.

Black locust is 26.8 million btu’s red oak is 24, I had some locust over the winter and it got my stove really hot it’s my new favorite wood.
