City are being accused of spending more than they were allowed to, so the figure we think we know (that is comparable to United's spending) could actually be much, much higher. Also you spent 300 million in your second season like what are we talking about. Pep has spent crazy amounts it’s wild. This is why everyone is turning on city it’s obvious they weren’t deducted points because they have money😂 an investigation started 5 years ago and we are only just in 2025 getting the start of a trial mainly because nothing can be done if city don’t communicate… the prem don’t want city to be deducted and seen as frauds obviously because the amount of money they pull in from city. The fact is every other top 5 club doesn’t have these accusations. Like the other managers spend modest amounts if you look at arteta and klopp they are spending maybe on average 30-40 million a signing with an occasional player being 60m+ then if you see city their whole bench and reserves are worth more than most teams they have hundreds of millions of players sitting chilling tell me how they could afford this 😂 yes they have had huge success but they wouldn’t of been able to have this much to buy everyone they have bought

The difference is that Pep inherited a strong side with Aguero, David Silva, KDB, Sterling, Kompany, etc already there. Even then he had to spend £300m to bring Man City to title winners. Once you have a strong team, there's less need for you to spend. Arsenal and Man Utd were both dreadful five years ago (one of them still is) so they had to spend more.

PSG had Mbappe, Neymar and Messi, no UCL. The players that leave City become average. Sterling at Chelsea average, Gundogan at Barcelona average. Gabriel Jesus and Zinschenko, at Arsenal average. Average, average, average. It's Pep that makes all the difference. If Pep went to PSG, I sincerely think PSG would have the ability to get them the UCL with average players.

I like how he picks the last 5 years when we had to build a completely new squad. They spent ridiculous when they got the takeover for years, then in the last 5 years added a couple of £60m+ players each season as that's all they needed to do.
Also, the wage bill... He forgot to mention that.
