I’m not sure working on a pre-hardened piece is the correct way. using that cutting disc especially where the edge would be had changed it’s hardening values probably for sure. Working on a soft metal to begin with is 1, less machinery wear and 2, twice as fast shaping results, and then hardening to actually achieve that hardening value was shown on the blade.
Beautiful work of art!!!
Yeah, probably the hardening of the blade is a totally mess... But for some photos, it's very good
Thought is not a pre-hardened steel. Look at the steel plate!
Actually, 58 hrc is pretty high and the blade being heated by that belt grinder and the disc might as well compensate the tempering process, though still, lots of unnecessary wear for his machines 🤷♂️:)
Thai Pham it says 58 hrc ,how ever this knife had no forge or heat treatment
Neriya Yadai 58 is really soft for kitchen knife 😢
What a simply beautiful kitchen knife, I really like the aesthetic and shape. Great work Koss!
I love the blade shape
Love the knife saw blade, never saw it used that way, great idea.
I have never seen such an amazing degree of precision with an Angle Grinder!
go check out Freerk Wieringa. He is so scary and precise with an angle grinder.
you aren’t supposed to use it on the flat face tho :/
I'm lucky to have all eleven of my fingers left.
Bog Oak was a beautiful choice and loved the various tools to make the tang holes and perfect shape. Next a 270mm Yanagiba, and a 165mm Nikiri?? Always a real pleasure to watch your vids. Thanks for all the great work and sharing!!
It is beautiful precisely because it is simple. It is the elegance of simplicity that makes every detail stand out.
Awesome video ! I enjoy your videos !
Nice piece of art. Btw: The continues grain in the handle. This kind of details are what good knife makers sets apart from the others.
beautifull project thx a lot for the video
That has to be one of the most beautiful knifes I seen made. Would love to own one you make.
Very nice blade! Love the handle design.
Adding tooth to the tang is a good idea, nicely done. Handsome looking unit.
Thanks for sharing your craft
Cheers
really like the handle simple design but elegant nice job
Hey man great work not sure how I missed this channel but I'm glad I found it.. Martin
A beautiful item made via small, focused changes. 👍
Cutting edge of perfection

Koss, I know you produce beautiful blades. But can you do a video of you forging one? I'd really like to see that. Keep up the good work
I like the use of a the sawzall blade. Think I might use that myself this weekend. Nice knife!
Jigsaw blade

I love the black color so much
Love watching you work beautiful craftsmanship 👍
Beautiful. I wish i could work this fast. :)
Awesome work man. I love the way your handle looks like. Classy and good contrast. I wish to ask you for the specs for your belt grinder... In case you build it or if you could give me some tips or general schetch I could use if I would like to build something similar :)
Loved it!
great job i would like to see it how it cuts too...
Beautiful as usual.
Love the pluggers mate
Nice craftsmanship!
very simpele yet VERY Beautiful
Very nice.
I would however highly recommend a slimmer cutting disc, I use a 0,75 mm (or 1,0 mm on occasion) and it cuts like nobody's business :)
Lovely job !! Very beatiful piece !!
Nice knife. Neat trick with the Jig Saw Blade

I feel like this is how machines were created… Somebody just dreamed about someone doing just this and somehow fast forward it X10 in their head.
*Great job!*
That looks beautiful 🤩🤩🤩
Such a unique skill you have. Congratulations dear bro..
great work...👍👍
Satisfying.
Cool ~~😎
Thanks for the good video.
That’s really cool, could you make a Nikiri sometime?
Beautiful job
Great work! What do you use as a broach? The saw held by a clamp when making the ferrule?
Wow!
Nice job!
Scenes of this could easily fit into “Requiem For a Dream”.
Master bravo
excellent job!
enjoy your videos, thanks... by the way, which kind of wood did you use for handle?
Ótimo trabalho. Vende para o Brasil?
my mans is really out here in sandals working with metal. respect 🅱️
Great looking take on a kitchen knife. Is the handle some type of ebony wood? It had fairly large grain but a rich color.
handle made from bog oak
Wow that guy moves quickly.
Is that a jigsaw blade in vise grips? awesome idea

What is wrong with his Australian safety boots?

I really liked this knife and I would like to do it. Would you have templates?
Nice
What cutting disc are you using here? Beautiful knife! Great video
Gorgeous knife! What were the final dimensions on the handle if you don’t mind !
Perfeito!
Just awsome
Wow
You do fantastic work with such rudimentary tools. Id love to see what you could do with good tools ! . Youre a true craftsman.
How are his tools rudimentary? I know nothing about tools, so please revert.
@@ShannonSouthAfrica i suggest you look up rudimentary in a dictionary.
@@aitf99 I've got a degree in English, so I know what rudimentary means... What I mean is what is so rudimentary about his tools?
@@ShannonSouthAfrica i say rudimentary because he is using fairly primative tools - just look at his home made belt sander. Its very basic. Im not insulting him - hes working with what he has and does a spectacular job. Id just like to see what he could do using good tools.
@@aitf99 Again, I barely know how to operate a standard hammer, so I can't tell the difference between rudimentary and advanced.... lol
Why i spend all day watching knifemaking videos?
yesss
like many other knife-nuts in the comments, i've got many questions about this impressive piece. i'm curious about the steel used, whether it was left at 58HRc, and if the knife is in fact zero-ground from a high-sabre?! if it were indeed zero-ground, that would explain the relatively moderate hardness, perhaps - it would ensure that such an extreme edge bevel wouldn't be prone to chipping? all these sorta questions.
Hello ! very beautiful knife! I would like to know at what price do you think this knife?
Fantastic👍👍
If I have a knife like that, there’s no way I’m using it. I’ll frame it and use it as a display. She’s a beauty
Love it
wonderful !!!
very cool
