  • Atomstack Sent over their new Lightburn Compatible camera kit for me to test. I'll show you how it can mont on many different diode lasers and then we'll go through the alignment and calibration process. I'll then show you a few ways this camera can be helpful and fun to use with your diode laser.

    I just bought this camera and I had to cover my honey comb bed for the camera to recognize the the test card. I also had issues with the card being recognized as the instructions in the manual differ from the card placement presented on the light burn tutorial. Also my instructions did not have me draw a box around the four corners and draw diagonal lines like you did. I like that idea. I am using the Longer Ray 5 10 watt laser. I have also noticed I had to pull in the scaling under the recommended 200 for a 400 x 400 work area. The laser would hit the back rail. Very good video.😀🛫

      I had to disable the honeycomb detection setting to get it to recognize the pattern. It's probably best to have a solid dark color as the background when running the calibration test. I've seen a few different recommendation on how to calibrate the cameras and I try to take tips from each one to get it as accurate as possible. I've yet to find the perfect setup and there is always just a bit of drift on areas of the workspace.

    Clack showed this cam and I bought it. First time I aligned I could have croaked at how spot on it was. Laser sat for 2 days and now it is 5 mm off to the right on the x axis. I have deleted the cam. reattached the cam. aligned and set up 2 diff times and cannot get the off set corrected. Is it possible there is a setting in lightburn that I have hit or on the xtool? xtool d1 pro on an acer running win 10

    Can you advice a camera mount for Sculpfun s30 dimensions 935x905mm?? If not, what size/dimension would I need to create my own??

  • @TheFalconJetDriver
    @TheFalconJetDriver Před 9 měsíci +1

    Update on this camera and mount. I really like the Camera and the simplicity of the mount. However I did run into one issue, and that is the swivel that the camera mounts to. It Will not allow the camera to move to a parallel position. I had to mill out the area behind the swivel. At least that is what I have found on mine. I also found that the scaling had to be lowered to 182 rather than 200.
    One other thing if you have made and X- Y shift and what to do another realignment be sure to take the X-Y Shit back to zero’s 😁🛫

      @Vintauri  Před 9 měsíci

      This is some good feedback on it's use. I didn't find too many issues with getting the camera square from the positions I was trying to mount it from but I can see that it could have it's limits on adjustability. I have been moving lasers in an out of my enclosures so much lately that I have not been using the camera as the calibration process takes a while and once you move things you have to redo it. I'll be building a larger enclosure this fall and hopefully will have a permanent setup I can work with and get the camera dialed back in.

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před rokem +1

      I don't think this camera will cover the extended area but check out the video The Clack Shack did on his extended P20 with a fisheye lens. czcams.com/video/i6iKp4_TmAM/video.html

  • @galep3052

    On the Atezr do you know how high the camera should be and if it would work with the Atezr enclosure? Thannks

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před rokem

      The manual calls for it to be about 16” above the work surface. I think you can bring it a little closer but I have not tested how close but it would be around 13-14” at minimum. The Atzer enclosure is only 15.75” tall so the post this camera goes on would be too tall to fit without modifying it.

    I am new to laser cutting and engraving. I recently purchased this camera. How can I use the smoke cover with this camera. The camera is higher than what the cover reaches. Is there a cover out there that would work with this camera? I hate to have to take the camera off whenever I do the burning and then put it back on and recalibrate and reallgn.

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před 9 měsíci

      The camera's do create an issue with the shorter enclosures. Depending on which one you have. You might be able to mount it outside the enclosure and when the cover is off it might be able to see all of the working area. Otherwise you'll need a taller enclosure to house it all. The only one that I know of that works well without mods is the large enclosure from Comgrow. amzn.to/3RbZWi0

    • @agnesjackson1609
      @agnesjackson1609 Před 9 měsíci

      Thank you. I purchased the large Comgrow enclosure and it is wonderful. It is tall enough to cover everything and has lots of little openings for the cords to come out. It has a large zippered opening in the front so you do not have to move the enclosure at any time after set up. It does a great job. Thank you much.@@Vintauri

    is this camera needs limit switches like sculpfun 500 camera ?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před 6 měsíci

      For the camera to work well, it will need to know a consistent home location and to work in absolute coordinates. This could be done with a jig that you move the laser head to manually and set your home location but it is much easier with limit switches.

    What about mounting it to the table itself?

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před rokem +1

      That is absolutely an option however you need to make sure the laser is secure to the table as well or your alignment will get out of place quickly.

      Sure I agree but don’t forget not every one see the simple missing details. My next step is that I bought the camera with the laser and now wanted to see how to integrate it if a build a fume and dust box around. Additionally I took the extension kit 400*800. Does the camera for such a size ?Hope to find an easy to use solution. I am engraving/cutting ABS what is toxic. Keep you informed the solution I will go for to be productive and secure.
